This thing is just stupid, because they made the Immortal that way, hp/shields is similar to 2 Stalkers(which have the same cost), and the shield ability compared to just having more hp/shields makes a significant difference on a very few units(and what it does is marginallize those units, the ability itself isn't very good design), even marauders that deal twice the damage needed to activate the shield kill an immortal in 21 hits and 2 stalkers in 18. These same stalkers deal 28 damage to armored, while the immortal deals 50. It's clear that the difference in damage is much larger than the difference in tanking.

One thing that concerns me is the marketplace. Not that I'm necessarily opposed to paying mapmakers for quality maps, but truth be told I think the custom game offerings on SC2 are already quite lacking. There's basically no custom games that I want to play a lot over other games I own, let alone paying for them. But like all things, we'll just see how the free market plays out with that. Either it will be a great idea that promotes fantastic maps, or it will be a dud and no one will pay for maps, and people will revert to making free maps anyways.

I know they're downplaying the multiplayer in this preview for the purpose of focusing on the campaign (and between now and release, tons of stuff in the multiplayer is bound to change anyway, just as it did for WoL), but I really hope they have some tricks up their sleeves that they're not letting us know about just yet. WC3 -> TFT was a major improvement with the creep indicators on the map, mercenary heroes, buildable item shops and so on. SC2 was a relatively conservative sequel in terms of introducing new RTS elements, and as much as I love the game in its present form it would be a shame not to see it move forward and do something truly fresh. 2.) I can't help but feel a bit short-changed that their target for the single-player campaign is around 20 missions rather than WoL's 26+3. I thought the whole purpose of splitting each campaign into a separate release was so each race could receive an equally extensive treatment. Then again, since HotS is obviously aimed at players who have already played WoL, the reduced number of missions shouldn't be too bad since it won't have to lean on as much tutorial filler (e.g. the first few missions of WoL). As it stands, even WoL felt a tad too short to encourage trying out the upgrades for units you receive late in the campaign. I won't disagree with putting quality over quantity, though. 3.) Probably what I like best about Blizzard is that they know better than to constantly push their minimum requirements skyward like the rest of the PC game industry. 4.) I bet they're axing the carrier.

Paying for maps would probably be a waste of money. However, there have been a few projects going around that look to make truly epic maps. It could also be a way to market campaign and/or RPG packs from the community. The community and map makers will reach some sort of market equilibrium on what is and isn't worth paying for.

Really no new units...so far just upgrades on old ones that don't seem to really address anything big at the moment but we will have to see. The queen upgrade looks possibly viable though if it can be researched early enough in the game...Perhaps better reactionary defence there

Swarmlings sound cool but if the cost supply then it doesn't seem like such an amazing upgrade...just getting lings faster. The roach gaining +10 HP seems sort of cool? Roach rushes + that fast upgrade will be pretty nice when the other person has to pull probes i.e. roaches get fast kills...but besides rushing I don't see too too much of a purpose.... Remember these are all SINGLE PLAYER units. Having that said, which would you rather like? Zerglings that can leap into the midst of a protoss ball and focus a collosus, or 3 zergligns that get stuck behind forcefields and die to lasers?
