Story/lore wise, it's a little bit troubling that the Zerg now have internal politics since it just makes them alien people instead of The Swarm, and I swear to god those two missions are pulled out of WC3. Next missions Mal'Ganis is going to appear and trick Kerrigan into releasing a big dumb sword from some ice.
The Q&A was good, though. Kerrigan has been playing internal zerg politics from the start, picking off cerebrates, the new overmind etc..

HOTS!<3 This will be so epic to see the story followup!:o

Kerrigan looks nice, good to see her human (almost) again.
But I was secretly hoping for no new multiplayer units

Looks like one of those ice yetis jumping off a cliff. Can't really see it as anything else, tbh.

This should have been said on every single page. I completely forgot to thank our fantastic writers for doing such a good job submitting the best questions! Thank you so much for your hard work.
(Although Jibba I'm not sure if I agree with your internal politics point. Maybe the Swarm was perfectly attuned to the overmind before Rebel Yell but certainly Kerrigan in the original game introduced political turmoil with her constant threats at Zasz. I know everyone was all hunky dory obedient to the overmind until it died but certainly by brood war the swarm was fractured in leadership with some broods falling under Kerrigan, some remaining independent until assimilated by (mostly Kerrigan) others and others forming a new overmind. It seemed like the end of the original Protoss campaign was where internal politics was first introduced.
Also the fact that every "unit" still feels like a disposable asset of the Swarm. Maybe the new "brood moms" and advisors are a bit much and make it feel like an alien race, maybe not. We'll certainly see at release

I saw a strange-looking queen. Possible queen upgrade o_O?

I had thought with them splitting the game up into three parts Blizzard would really take a creative look on how to craft a story, instead it simply seems to be rehashing ideas from their previous games with little to no consequence in how you choose to play your missions. Hopefully the plot isn't condensed into 8 or so campaign missions this time.
Their answer to the question on LAN is an absolute joke, same with the marketplace.
Overall buying HotS will hinge on how much better the multiplayer is. I certainly won't be spending $60 for an average single player experience and very limited multiplayer changes.
A: We typically don't provide details about pricing until the game is closer to release. We do view Heart of the Swarm as an expansion set, so for the regions that have a standard box business model such as North America and Europe, we will price accordingly.
Makes me believe that the expansion won't be priced at $60. WoW expansions were like $30 and they had probably as much content as this expansion if not more. Wasn't Cata like 450kr? Meaning about $80? In the US WoW Expansions retail for $50 when they are released. The Collectors Edition was $80 I think.

Im sorry, Starcraft just isnt manly at all any more

"zerg mothers.."
The hell? Am I the only one shaking my head at this? Where are the bloodlust cerebrates? Did they all just switch race and become some officers for terran?
|
What a great writeup! Anyways, so Raynor and Kerrigan aren't on the same side in HotS?

Im shaking my head aswell, horrible trailer... wuss kerrigan etc...
This game isnt cool at all anymore like brood war was.

single player is looking fun, looks a lot like the WoL singleplayer, and i have no problem with that, as the WoL single player was awesome and well done.
so, they may remove certain units or revise them. I wonder if making overlords being able to detect might be a thing they are doing. That part of the QA was the most interesting. As they talked about "failed" units like the overseer. What units do you think blizzard considered failures?

Kerrigan killed them all off. She saw fit to hire the dude who ran the evolution of the species though, even though he's clearly incompotent, what with removing defilers and making hydralisks cost more money..

Im so interested how in the world they are going to balance this stuff :D

Great write up thanks guys.
Can you comment if kerrigan is badass or not? Id love it if she had the attitude "stfu im the queen of blades bitch" as opposed to "ugh what happened? i guess ill keep being the queen of blades"While the Protoss is already on the retreat, Kerrigan made it clear to Izsha that she was the Queen of Blades. like here.

Very cool, looking forward to it.
