My audience is the general public but this teaser is specifically cut for the community, though I think it functions alright for both - I think the only group it's alienated so far are epileptics - sorry! Related to your criticism, I can understand how it may be difficult for someone with intimate knowledge of the scene to judge this as an effective promo; while when they see iNcontrol, iDra, Tyler, and Huk they see familiar personalities, a mainstream audience is only being introduced to the fact that pro-gamers exist and that Starcraft has a uniquely deep heritage. Hopefully I can reconcile this in the feature and please everyone Ahh, I understand now. A very well-thought out approach, I like the fact that the trailer was made for TL; I thought it was more of a general trailer. And certainly the personalities can cause problems but I'm sure you'll hammer all that out. And I know everyone here would love to help ^^ so if you're unsure of anything, undoubtedly this community will jump at the chance to give input. Also, have you considered chatting some with the producer for Star Nation? The reason I suggest that is to perhaps avoid overlap and collaborate material. Perhaps in SN there are interviews that don't fit the focus but would work well for you, and vice-versa. Perhaps not, but it seems like an opportunity to work together to produce two phenomenal documentaries. Best, Arn | ||
