Nah, it's a legitimate concern.
This is potentially a great platform for Hayward and others like him - it's not the playing SC2 part that's special, but the streaming - the interactivity and the opportunity to connect with interlinking communities of basketball and esports fans. As fans we should be respectful and encouraging so that it's worth his time and effort to do this when he just as easily could be playing privately with his friends, without the burden of opportunity of appearing in public and dealing with jackasses giving him shit while cheating.
This is a golden opportunity for both Hayward and the TL community, and we should extend our best effort to encourage and improve his play, which would raise both the profile of SC2 esports and Hayward himself.
And Gordon if you're reading this:
It's awesome that a player of my favorite sport is streaming himself playing my favorite video game. Get better every day! Definitely get in touch with TL people like Chill and professionals that he can connect you with like Day[9] or TL players so you can raise your play level to Masters level. From watching you play, I'd say your biggest problems at the moment are the lack of hotkeys, lack of use of keyboard commands (like B B for build barracks, or A moving to attack), and the lack of scouting.

Haha, I don't think he expected to have a 33 page thread so quickly, hopefully this encourages him to stream more and love TL!

:O *insta-faved Gordon Hayward* NBA player + SC2 player = best of both worlds @.@ To be honest I wish I were like that but alas I didn't work hard enough (on top of other circumstances). Hayward HWAITING XD

LOL! NBA player playing SC2 :D~~ Awesome!
|
Any chance we could get VODs of the vent, if they could be updates into the OP that would be beyond amazing. I can't believe I missed this, I would love to catch up.
|
wow i missed this =(
i hope he streams again soon. i also hope he avoids the TL NBA playoffs thread X_X (nothing but ref hating there recently).

Ahaha this is so cool, my favorite NBA player now.

Been searching for an NBA team to follow for waay too long. Looks like I'm now a Jazz fan!

imagine if a superstar were streaming sc2 like lebron/dwight/etc.
would probably be so huge for starcraft 2
|
This is so cool! I hope he invites other NBA players to play SC2!

You crazy, man.

I thought this was pretty cool. Things like this help make games look less niche/nerdy and more mainstream. And perhaps his fans who may not normally be into this kind of thing might become interested and start following the SC2 scene.

I don't know who he is, but this is awesome that an NBA player is into Starcraft.

Hopefully, a tweet like "Check out MLG Anaheim!" from such exposed figures is all what it takes to get the ball rolling

You guys need to just chill. Let the man enjoy the game, dont start getting ahead of yourselfs and dreaming of crazy possibilities. Its a game, which most ppl here forget, let him play it as such, as he clearly enjoys it. Best thing is to watch his stream (not troll) and support him in his experience in that way alone.
