Just last week the community became aware of Quantic’s SC2 roster and we have great news in that it has expanded once again to accommodate the great game play of iNkA! iNkA is an amazing Protoss that has made a splash in StarCraft 1 and carried his talents over to StarCraft 2 and was kind enough to give a little history of his StarCraft 2 journey to date:
“I've been playing Starcraft since 2002 or so, just casually until around 2005 when I decided it was a really interesting game that I wanted to pursue competitively. It wasn't until the summer of 2009 that I was recognized as good player, but shortly after picked up by team Evil Geniuses. In February of 2011 EG and I separated ways, I then went on to join Lazarus Gaming which disbanded in early May of 2011.”
I had a chance to sit down with iNkA to discuss his thoughts about MLG, his player idols, and how it is living with fellow StarCraft players.
iNkA: I'm reevaluating my entire game play. My mechanics have never been an issue since I'm a long time Starcraft One vet. My timings and decision making tends to be more of where I misstep. I'm spending every day practicing as much as I can, perfecting solid build orders that don't have any weaknesses as well as go smoothly with my style of play.
fograw: With solid build orders and amazing mechanics, I am sure you will make a run very deep in the tournament. So how has living with Idra and Machine helped your practice regiment if at all?
iNkA: They both give me insight on the new builds of PvZ, what's weak, what's strong etc. Other than that I hardly play with them. Machine doesn't play a lot anymore and Idra keeps to himself a lot. When I ask Idra for games he usually accepts and we play a few.
fograw: Yeah I have to imagine that your PvZ is something to be feared living with them. A lot of foreigner teams are moving towards having pro houses. Do you think this is a thing that everyone can handle or does it really take a special degree of dedication?
iNkA: It definitely takes dedication, but more so organization and management. If players are left on their own to do what they will, a lot of time they'll end up just laddering or watching youtube videos. There really needs to be someone there to keep them motivated and practicing what needs to be practiced.
The entire interview can be seen at QuanticGaming.com and for those who are unfamiliar with iNkA’s style or skill I encourage you to check his most recent replay pack which is located here, http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=234379. We are thrilled to have iNkA on board and look forward to his debut when vVv tries to get revenge this Tuesday after Quantic’s 4-1 victory this past Wednesday.

Why doesn't Machine play a lot anymore? He still seems fairly active in the tournament scene and lives in a pro gaming house. I don't understand -- can anyone who knows Bryce shed some light?
Grats to iNkA!

Close, Quantic didn't acquire all of eMg, just the Starcraft 2 team. We were, are, and will continue to be honored to provide a home to such wonderfully talented players and such dedicated fans. More exciting news to come very, very soon, so stay tuned!

He meant that Machine doesn't practice a lot, which I have heard else where. I think that's a bit ridiculous if he is living with sc2 players, planning on moving into a sc2 house, is on a well known sc2 team, and is getting invited to huge events around the world.
Hopefully he starts playing again cause I really like the guy and hope he does well.
As for Inka, congrats on finding a new team! Hopefully it works out and you are able to travel to more events.

Sweet deal, Quantic is tearin it up in the E-SPORTS scene.

|
awesome news! Gratz INKA WP !
|
Wow Idra saying he only practices 3 hours a day. And now news that machine doesnt play that much anymore, hmm well his tournament results have been less than stellar so i guess it kind of makes sense. Hes supposed to be a pro gamer though youd think he would try and put in the time.
I wonder what macine and idra do now? I know idra has a GF, but what is bryce up to?
|
grats on the pickup QG, hopefully you become big
|
So excited and so happy for iNkA! Congrats bro!
|
I thought Inka was supposed to move in the EG house :o Sick turn of events. I have to add that his interview is very encouraging, I like his mindset.
