Page 26 and onwards I will issue at least two day bans to anyone who clearly has not read the original topic post and the explanations contained therein. He was barred access to the event days before the actual event took place and used some random diamond player his account to try and get in anyway.
Leave the racial bias at the door while you are at it as well pretty please. |

I don't understand how people can think what Major did as justified. He did not bother to contact the organizer of the tournament, Dox, before the tournament (he contacted an admin, which told him no). When the organizer asked him why he didn't PM him directly on TL, he replied with "You don't understand, you're stupid." He only went to clarify the rules with the organizer of the tournament during the day of the tournament in which the organizer went on to explain that you need to be both a citizen of SEA and own a SEA account to be eligible. Major abuses and argues with the organizer for 45 mins and then says that he understands and leaves. He smurfs the competition and messes things up for competitors. Three hours after being disqualified from the event, Major is STILL doing nothing but sitting in the tournament channel trolling and picking fights.
There was no sponsors for the tournament, just Dox, and he forked out his own money to organize this competition with the intent on promoting competition among SEA citizens.
The loophole argument some people bring up, that you just need to own a SEA account can be simply negated by the fact that Major was playing as someone else, which still constitutes as cheating under the rules and is cause for disqualification
SixJaxMajor acted immaturely and unprofessionally, and I'm not talking about the simple act of smurfing, people do that all the time and get caught, but the context of it, how someone from his position, a professional player, abused the organizers of the tournament, showed wanton disrespect for the tournament rules.

MajOr wasn't the only foreign pro that requested to join. Others like Fenix and several Koreans also asked Dox if they could play. He said no, and like mature people they took the no and moved on. Not MajOr. Because he thinks he deserves special treatment he continued to whine for about an hour.
Even if the rules of SEA citizens only wasn't stated clearly, Dox explained in frightening detail to MajOr that he couldn't participate. Also, going back to MajOr playing on someone else's account. It doesn't matter who you are, if you play on an account that does not belong to you, you are a SMURF which always results in immediate disqualification.

I find this more entertaining than shocking/scandalous.
It's pretty funny that he wanted to play this tournament THAT badly. Major you're a goofball =D
|
Back where I come from, they have a word for this behavior: "cheating"
|
Hopefully he'll pull his stupid bullshit in a major tourney so we can be rid of him once and for all.
|
To all the people claiming that the rules were not clear, Major was explicitly told by the tournament organizer that he couldn't enter because he was not a SEA resident. You can't get much more clear than that.
Major BM'd the tournament organizer, tried to smurf when he was told he couldn't enter and then acted like a 6 year old when he was caught.
|
Hopefully sixjax punishes him somehow. This really makes them all look bad.

I thought major was really cleaning up his act too, I was just starting to like him and he pulls this crap.

Major was reprehensible. No one else on the team, especially including Artosis, are at fault for any of this. Don't take down the team for bullshit like this. If incontrol did this, would you suddenly hate Idra and Machine and the rest of EG? Well, that might a bad example, because people already overreacted and hated the whole of EG when their sponsors blocked Incontrol from being the host of a show that directly potentially directly conflicted with their interests. But, you know, big bad business.
So Major broke the rules, but that's not Sixjax's fault. Fuck Major, he broke explicit rules. It's not even like he found a vague piece of the rules and lawyered his way into it. No, he just said "Fuck it" and tried to sneak his way in. Well, fuck him. No need to light torches and gather the pitchforks. Fuck him, but that's it. Easy enough.
But just as you wouldn't blacklist all of Team Liquid because of that stupid, dumbass overreaction to MLG drama with Ret, (I'm comparing on a community-perceived, no matter how completely retarded, moral outrage. I'm not actually making equals of them. Cheating in a tournament when playing tournaments is basically your job is just plain stupid beyond reason. Ret did nothing wrong, but the community thought he did.), you shouldn't blacklist all of Sixjax.

I think if Major took another account and played on it in secret, that's admission to knowing he wasn't allowed to play.
Whether the rules were clear or not is not a valid argument because it was clear he didn't have permission to play, the act of playing on someone else's account is an indication that he acknowledges this and didn't care anyways.

Well I'd expect a major tournament would be one where the participants aren't restricted to a fairly mediocre player pool. Which means he won't have to pull this stupid bullshit in the first place...

I don't recognize Major's actions reflecting unto sixjax. Perhaps to others it will but I don't want to blame Artosis or anyone else for the actions of an individual - or even call for his dismissal from the team.
I only vote with my viewership to not support Majors stream any more.

That's ridiculous.
I'm glad you were able to catch him before he won the whole thing. it's a shame he wasn't caught earlier, but i mean, i can understand how something like that would go unnoticed for a few rounds.
Hopefully you'll continue to have fantastic major tournaments and people like major won't crap all over them by specifically breaking tournament rules.
Best of luck
Edit:

At some point, you have to view major as part of an organization, and even though he was acting on his own (theoretically), the organization should take SOME sort of stance on the issue. It's one of their players afterall.
Teams are basically putting their stamp of approval on players, and when one of them cuts up and does something wrong, it speaks for the entire team. While it might not be the stance of the team, it's extremely difficult for them to be able to distance themselves from it.

If it will be what I saw the other night I wish you luck. Some of the matches were really painful to see. Can throw all the money around you want but good players make good tournaments not other way around. Please invite some top level players next time.

I'm sure he means Dreamhack, MLG, stuff like that. Tourneys that multiple different pro players from the major teams come from multiple different countries. A SEA tourney with a big prize pool is all good, but unless the best from other countries are allowed to enter as well, a lot of the community won't accept them. I for one would see it as the recent IPL seasons not just yet accepting people from too many different countries, trying to keep it small you see, but whatever. People won't think you're big until the Idras and the White-Ras are allowed to play.

Kid played and did not win money. Don't see the issue. Even if he did win and took the money who the hell cares unless this is a tournament made to support the Code B players of the SEA region. Are you stupid? He doesn't qualify to be in the tournament. He got disqualified luckily before he actually won it (assuming he would.) It's a big deal, because the tournament is trying to support the SEA scene.
I don't care if he qualifies or not lol. And for you to insinuate that I am stupid because I don't care if players follow a tournaments rules then you should probably brush up on what reasonable logic is. I wish he had won it and had the cash in his pocket I see no reason to give $500 to a worse player just because the other guy lives elsewhere. Developing the SEA scene isn't that important lol.

As a repercussion, he should be banned from all SEA tournament. That's just my opinion though. Also, no wonder that he has no fans as he stated that himself.
