If you were in grandmasters on KR, playing against professionals, how would you feel when your chance to join a team is taken by someone else because she's a girl and you're a guy? But do you know for sure that Eve was chosen over a GM KR player? I'm positive there a lot more amazing players on the KR servers that teams haven't picked up. They've probably had people with lower skill chosen over them too. You don't necessarily choose someone based straight on skill, you choose someone based on if they have potential to be even better, if they can represent the team well not only in the game but in public, how well they work with the rest of the team.. Jessica said she chose Eve because she saw she had potential and wanted to get more female players into the pro SC2 scene. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the way she chose or what she's doing.

You're still an over reActive typical female. I wasn't being rude to you. You've lost my following by jumping to conclusions with me. You are a hypocrite. She isn't a professional. (eve). She's a gimmick as we would call it in America. It's a monetary and organized push for something that will never be. My team does it as well. In fact last night I allowed a female to start in the league match because of the same reason. Sex appeal and the glamor of a woman player. This happens every day and it's pathetic to waste court resources when their are many other serious issues going on. so you are from the future ? Female gaming will never be up to par with male gaming. It's like any other sport. It's funny how this is called sexism. When the only reason she was chosen was because she is a female Wrong. Saying the only reason she was chosen is because she is female ignores the fact that SlayerS also saw potential in her. Or is BoxeR's ability to spot potential suddenly null and void due to how Eve is a woman?

As for the flamewar that has ensued, it's not important to me. What I like is the fact that you took a brave step in hiring a female in such a male-dominated field. The results aren't that important here, it's just healthy for e-sports to have more females interested in it. Keep doing what you do.

No one thought that the response to them was overreacting. What we thought was a problem, was the way Jessica doesn't see any difference between sexual harassment and people criticizing the team for it's actions. Jessica recognizes that Eve is not currently skilled enough to play in professional games. Many people seem to think it's unfair to give her something that she hasn't earned in the same way anyone else would. That thing in this instance is the chance to be part of Slayers and practice with the pro team. There are good arguments for and against affirmative action like this. But Jessica needs to understand that there is a difference between people who disagree with affirmative action for girls in ESPORTS and people who sexually harass over the Internet. Except the damn thread is labeled "Slayers Jessica overreacting!?" The thread wasn't about the sex stuff, most people who thought Jessica was overreacting thought that because she was threatening to sue people who criticized the decision to do affirmative action like this, people who said Eve was not good enough to be on Slayers, etc. Then don't say "no one thought". There were a ton of people in the thread saying "lol, Jessica don't know to let trolls be" Criticizing her recruitment of Jessica is a completely different issue, and she has that explained partly in her post - Recruiting Eve is an attempt to spur more female gamers to join in SC2.

Just here to give my support. I hope Jessica continues to work hard at pushing the sc2 community forward. Regardless of the haters. It takes drastic and controversial events like this to help change the expectations of a community. At one point in time, women were not allowed to go to school. They were considered inferior. Then, society changed and they were welcome. They obviously trailed far behind men, but looking at the education today - we see a drastic change. If anything, women dominate the education system. :D Thank you for being apart of that change!

I don't support Jessica, because she's given an opportunity to someone far less deserving than the masters and gransmasters players who have done far more to earn a contract. But I also don't support the people who are saying anything worse than what I just said, nor do I support any of the supposed hatred and pictures which I haven't seen. Yeah, ladder ranking is all that people should consider when giving someone an opportunity to play on a team................. :o edit - Go SlayerS! And go BoxeR!!!!!!! <3 I didn't mean to imply that ladder ranking was the only important factor, but I do think it's quite a bit more important than gender and looks, which have been explicitly stated as reasons why she was added to the team. If you were in grandmasters on KR, playing against professionals, how would you feel when your chance to join a team is taken by someone else because she's a girl and you're a guy? I know a lot of people support affirmative action in e-Sports, but I'm not one of them. yes this is why people have to check their information is this information comes from thisisgame.com it was a speculation of the journalist not an actual statement of the team check it for yourself : http://thisisgame.com/board/view.php?id=703754&category=102 From the OP: She was not selected through the pro-gamer casting system, but she is someone I selected for the team to help start having female competitors in Starcraft 2 Maybe I was wrong about the looks part, but my point stands. Gender shouldn't be a factor at all.

if internet was more like real life, people wouldn't do stupid things all the time. honestly, sometimes it is sickening what you can get away with. when it's all done, you turn off your screen and go to sleep, happy you had a few laughs, while somebodies psyche suffers.
