She is acting way too dramatic, and I dunno why she is trying to control the internet, its never going to change. If you can't handle criticism then don't try to be famous/known. I can't express enough how ignorant over half the shit she said was. User was temp banned for this post.

Plus she is talking about the KOREAN ladder, master there is far more hard to get than with the "easy" NA ladder.

I have no problem with female gamers, and I have no problem with someone being brought on because they show potential and could get better with training. I do have an issue with how Jessica is dealing with things, I think that this babying and making excuses for female players is actually very disrespectful to female gamers. There is no innate disadvantage women are at, and saying stuff like that it's impressive for a girl to make Masters or something is stupid. It's exactly as hard for a girl to do it as a guy to do it. Girls may like having role models to encourage them to play, but the skill levels and talents involved are identical. Coming out with statements like 'Its hard for a girl!' and 'We also picked her up because she's pretty' are demeaning. Yes people are jerks for bashing her, that's another issue...but a female making sexist remarks about other females in gaming just makes no sense to me.

I don't really know how you can promote the growth of girls playing, when you recruit a girl simply because shes cute and wants to play. Isn't the argument that they wanted to be treated as equals? I'm confused, maybe im clueless. Just my opinion. You are right. That is why Jessica pointed out that Eve will be trained as she has the most potential over the rest of girls to be successful as she has already won a kind of tournament.

Just because someone says something, or photoshops something, or makes accusations doesn't mean that it is real or serious. Just because Eve or Jessica is a girl doesn't make it any more wrong to slander against anyone else. To make people believe that slander against women is more offensive or somehow more wrong than slander against men is sexist and overall pretensious. I actually feel very sad for our online community to hold women in a higher postion than men in the sense of that we cannot insult women any more than we insult men, or that insulting women somehow has deeper or greater effect. Oh for fucks sake, what has she done to hurt the scene for women? She's even trying to highlight the female scene to this male-dominant game. Everyone may be trolled at some point in their life but are you saying that these things are even considerably acceptable? I don't know about you but I don't care wether it's a man or a woman who is behing harassed, it's still unacceptable and should be taken seriously if it hurts the person being so.

There's a higher concentration of males in masters, which is why she said that. Basically it's an uphill battle because she's one of the only females. It has nothing to do with ability. Anyway now that the situation has been explained better, I don't think there was any overreaction here, and I hope Eve still ends up training to be a progamer. Then why is it an uphill battle for a woman? I think this passage of Jessicas Post is not thought out well. I am sure that eve is a very good gamer, but reaching masters league is not harder just because you are female. In which form is it an uphill-battle?

Knowing what an amazing person Jessica is, if people started photoshopping MMA or Ryung's body on a pornstar and starting calling them trash, she would react the same way. She's protecting her players from a ruthless environment. I understand your argument but I would suggest you do more reading on the internet culture in Korea. It's unlike anything we have here in the West. It's more than just that Eve was female, that's not the point of her retaliation. It's the pictures and the severity of them. The whole culture itself is very different ( I don't expect everyone to know that) and public image is enormous in Korea. So pictures like that and comments like the ones written have a much larger impact than it might in teh US or Canada. It may seem hard to believe but the basic core structure of society functions very differently in Asia and Korea specifically. So yes, what happened to Eve was atrocious and yet it deserved action. No, not because she's a woman, but because she's a professional Starcraft II player.

That SC1 had a lot of great talent that made it difficult for a woman to break through and shine and since SC2 is in its young stages this is the perfect opportunity to begin getting girls into the scene before it is too late.

Yet you find it fitting to come here and start with insults spew random shit you don't know anything about. You accuse her of acting too dramatic? Read your own post... Don't you think that might be over the line? Don't you think that people like you should think before writing on TL? She cares about her players, she cares that she is able to entertain and provide good games for the whole foreign and Korean community. You? You don't have the decency to try... People should learn to be respectful.

Whilst I completely understand with what you are saying, there is such little respect for women that they literally can't just ignore it. Ignoring it would make the women seem as weak and inferior as the sexist internet e-thugs want them to feel. First, they need to expose them as cowardly creeps and contribute more to E-sports before people will give them space and more respect. Once they receive more respect and hold a higher prestige, then they will be in a position to laugh at the childishness of the internet's resident sociopaths.
