Whenever you hit post in this thread, think long and hard. Are you showing the proper amount of respect? If that is not the case, do not hit the post button. |
it is no mean feat for a female to reach Master level while laddering against males.
This is where you lose me... The admission that even though she's not really good enough, she made the team because she's a girl. This is exactly why people give her shit.

I hope that this gets settled and the flaming stops, almost everyone on TL supports SlayerS and every member of it. She's not being overtly dramatic. Jessica is speaking from personal experience.
This. She's a veteran of the entertainment industry. People are so ignorant. They don't give her enough credit for actually knowing the dangers of cyberbullying, especially in Korean culture. At first, I didn't think things through and worried about her somewhat, thinking she was being a bit naive, but with this clarification and upon further thought, I think that people dismissing her actions for being a big overreaction are truly the naive ones.

It would be awesome for Slayers to train Eve to the max, send her out in the GSTL, and her all-kill another team.
|
Keep it up Jessica. You're a good influence on SlayerS and part of a reason I'm a big fan.

Speaks a lot about how different our worlds are. I don't really agree with your views on how things should be handled, nor can I say I feel sorry for the ones who may be fearing a lawsuit. Either way it says a lot that you took your time to write it personally, man, says more than any number of press releases has ever done.
People will be fucking idiots, there's no way around that. I hope things does improve for Eve though, but I doubt anything will change unless she grows a thicker skin (easier said than done, yes). I don't know exactly how it works in Korea, but I can't see a lawsuit scaring off the ones who really want to be dicks for the sake of being dicks.

Just for clarification, so that it's not just a miss-communication: If you spread the truth about someone else online, you can get punished?
Isn't rumor by definition something that is unproven or false?
I support the legal actions against the porn-guys and haters spewing insults, but I as far as I know there are girls in Master league (see female cups) and they might have been a better choice. Mentioning her looks as reason for her recruitment also left kind of a bitter taste.
Please also understand the gamers, that dream of being part of the SlayerS team and are just below pro-level and then they see a player drafted that has clearly inferior starcraft skills, just because she is a girl.
So hopefully you use legal action considerate and with a cool head.

This was very well written, thank you for sharing.
Jessica, keep on fighting! I believe in you, and Lim Yohwan. I hope the cyber bullying stops, and that Eve does well as a pro gamer
You have the support of many people here on TL, even if we are not as loud as the angry trolls.
Good Luck, Have Fun.

SlayerS has never failed to spot potential this will be no different once this quiets down.
My friend is a female gamer who attended a Halo event with my team as the coach and this was the same sort of reaction toward her as SlayerS EvE. It's pathetic and had hoped the SC community would be more mature than the Halo community but sadly it seems not to be the case. These things can't be helped only ignored sadly.
SlayerS hawiting!

But I also don't support the people who are saying anything worse than what I just said, nor do I support any of the supposed hatred and pictures which I haven't seen. i fully support the last part. you can criticize people and their actions with reasonable arguments and appropriate words like this.
(fyi i dont think slayers eve is not deserving her spot and i think kim gayeon had her own reasons as well)

I personally know someone who resorted to attempt to suicide because of bullying. Internet bullying is no different.
A single person writing a hateful comment isn't that bad. But hundreds of people sharing embarrassing photoshops and hateful comments? That's far enough to ruin a public figure's life.
Pushing someone to the limit where he/she ends up even thinking about attempting suicide is nothing less than a Bloodless murder.

I dont understand why she doesnt expect criticism when Eve was recruited partially for her looks and has the skills of an amateur, according to Jessica.

Good job in that you actually read the comments posted in the thread about you overreacting. I don't know about the topic of boxer, but I feel he should be more credited to what he has done to e-sports. I actually haven't seen many degrading him, but definitely, if it's happening, it should stop.

Woah nice explaining post! You have really put a lot thought behind this
Thx for explaining everything

Totally agree and support SlayerS_Jessica. She did the right thing.
