Someone mentioned Carls Jr. and that's all I can think about as well when I see this, so corny. I really liked there old one it was pretty awesome looking. :/
Interesting choice indeed. I can't really figure out why they would change from the old one, which I Personally liked a lot more :/ It really does look "somewhat" cute.
Is this serious? No way they are actually changing their logo to that right? They do know they are playing a game where they kill humans and aliens and not my little pony right?

trolling? if not =(. I preferred the other for sure. Seemed a million times more legit in terms of professional appeal. This one seems like the logo for a kids show.
This new logo is completely badass, I fully support this. The old logo was cool and serious, but this new logo just screams badass. I mean if you beat people in GSL and have that logo on your team jacket, you're the biggest badass ever.

Are they serious? I mean serious serious? There is some korean April Fools thing in august right? But in the other hand ... it's not even good enough for an April Fools joke.
well, SC2 is currently sausage fest (fan wise). They trying to lure the BW girl crowd with a cute logo maybe? Having fanclubs really help the esports though. They make really great cheers and they send in cheers for players to display while they're in the booths. More girls = happier scene.
Their previous logo was terrible, this one is even worse. They need to hire a proper Graphics Designer or just ask someone here to design them a log ten times better.

This.
Someone make a 'TL Designs a Startale Logo' and see if anyone can make an awesome one. :p
Also MVP needs a new logo as well.
Favorite logo is still Prime's. Clean, cool looking, and looks professional.
If this really isn't a troll thread I'm not sure but, I think this star looks really cute. But is cuteness something for serious gaming team? I don't thinks so...
I personally like it! Gave me a good chuckle, The old one didn't do anything for me it wasn't 'Awesome' 'Funny' or 'Creative' it was just well it. So I like the change seems like Startales has a nice sense of humor.
Jesus jitterbugging Christ. Who, ehm.. what, uh... I mean like...
This is on par with the TL mongotard horse banner, but somehow even worse. It's both childish and dead serious at the same time. If this is actually true, well... I don't even...
Please make this a troll. I don't want this to be real. They already got rid of their awesome letter jacket uniforms in exchange for mustard shirts. Now this?

well... if you think about it... they are playing a video game for a living so why not. LOLs.
Well, it will certainly not be as "threatening" or "professional" looking as some of the other logos (or their former one). But at least, every time I see it, I will be reminded of the mantra: "we play starcraft to have FUN!"
...wtf, why change their logo, the previous one was awesome, still maybe the page from the source is trolling, I hope that that's the case, I don't like this logo.
feels like we are being trolled just a little. but i can dig it regardless... i mean.... imagine July with the all-kill..... wearing that on his shirt. i would wanna cry XD
Guess I'll have to find a new favorite team... No way I'm having that as my desktop wallpaper. I'll have nothing to say when my non sc2 friends ask me what it is....
I much prefer their old logo. Not sure why they decided on this one... it seems like it belongs in a children's cartoon maybe? I dunno, it just doesn't seem to fit the badassery of Korean pro-gamers.
Who made that logo lol? Did they like go to a Korean kindergarten and steal it from a kid there? I'm so confused. How did the team management meeting go? Were they all like: -"Hey here's an idea of a new logo." -"Cool what is it?" -"It's a yellow star drawn by a 5 year old, that's smiling" -"BRILLIANT!"
I mean cmon, is this really the way this team wants to present itself to the community?

Uh..no, the old one was just a lot better. The only thing was it had nothing to do with the name, but this looks like the logo of some kiddy cartoon show., it's like the team liquid horse changing to yoshi.
i'm not a huge fan, but it's definitely an improvement over the clipart-esque old one. plus startale is the :3 team, so. that mouth sort of bugs me, the star could be way cuter.
also IM and TL are pretty much the only clean serious-looking team logos in SC2 that don't suck; and this one at least has some personality.
This IS a troll. Or is it? This new logo can be used in covers of children's book.
Edit: Maybe they should start a logo making contest where the fans vote for the best logo submission. That will be added publicity as well as provide them with a lot of logos to choose from.
The new logo is pretty hilarious but I think aesthetically superior to the old ST logo, even though it's kind of thematically inappropriate for a Starcraft team.

Probably the best idea (the one to get user submissions). Yeah, this isn't a troll post though lol I was in disbelief when I saw it from the StarTale Twitter, but there it is ...
looks like FD and tester are gonna leave again. after TSL wanted to change their pants to weird shit, now startale changes their logo. oh no FD and tester!
I don't really like the old one. I'm neutral on the new one but i think it fits their personalities of members shown in gstl. A fun team with lots of trolling and ceremonies

i think the other one looks more fierce but the design for the new one is still decent. it reminds me a lot of the wemade FOX logo so maybe this will grow on me as well.
The logo's well made. I actually like the light hearted style of it.
Think about it. You have the generic "I'm trying to be bad ass" logos and all of the sudden you get stomped by guys sponsored by a Saturday morning cartoon character.
On August 08 2011 18:22 iCCup.Diamond wrote: Normally a logo change isn't something I would report on, but this is the best thing out of Korea since KT Finger Boom!
So much hate for such a sweet logo. That became my desktop background the instant I laid eyes on it. ST was always my favorite, but this puts them way ahead of the rest.
this is like wearing a spongebob t-shirt to a metallica conzert. so baller. i really hope they make fotos where their facial expression is badass while wearing this logo on a shirt. ^_^
It's better from a design perspective. Their old logo really was quite atrocious. (Though, in all honesty, the only "good" logos I've seen out the Korean scene are Prime's and TL's. Everyone else's logo is shit, especially MVP's.)
Dunno how I feel about it. I think it's an improvement, but it's a bit ... cutesy. I imagine Ace is fine with it, though, given how goofy he is, and it'll go well with July.
But really, they've got a long way to go if they want to beat TSL's pants.

Rolster means Rollercoaster.
Even has a rollercoaster in the logo.
LOL, way to talk out the ass... But seriously, if they made the star cuter, I would like it. Right now, it has to grow on me.
This is so funny, hopefully they have shirts with this logo covering the whole back or something, i would feel bad for them getting made fun of walking to the booth and everyone seeing it and laughing

Old school ST logo was pretty badass actually and this one is even more badass. What says badass more than a fucking star with a smiley face. Stars are fucking deadly.
It's so the opposite of all of these "omg look at our logo that looks like razorblades and fire and makes us look cool". This one just says "fuck you guys, we're just cute".
This is the most awesome thing to happen for StarTale.
FXO and GOMTV are asking for the creative fans to think of something amazing for their shirts/slogan, but it's inevitably going to be mundane and too serious for its own good.
StarTale has simply KO'ed them in the first round, imagine Bomber, in his booth, ready to destroy some nerds (which is bad enough for his opponent), but then think what is running through the opponents mind when they see that logo. It's going to be pure fear. "There's something not quite right with this person" they'll be thinking as they see the maniacal smile on the star, laughing over their inevitable demise.
It's the equivalent of putting Lenox Lewis in some pink, frilly boxer shorts and gloves. It would invoke more fear than standard colours/logo could ever hope to achieve.
I'm happy they included a star, and I'm liking the whimsical fairy tale kind of vibe from the lettering (also the winged letters as a throwback to the old logo). The face on the star throws me off, though, and I'd personally prefer a solid background without stars.
One more thing about the old logo is that as terrible as I thought it looked, it makes a more memorable badge than the new one (If you take out the lettering, you have... a smiley star in a circle).
I'm a graphic designer, and although it's quite a long and complicated process (or atleast it should be). For the people who maybe don't share an interest in the subject but wonder why we do the things we do or how, there's pretty much 5 rules that you should follow when you are designing a new logo or when you're doing a rebranding. 5 rules i feel like StarTale have not took into consideration.
1. Appropriate - It has to be appropriate for its intended purpose. So for example, you wouldn't use comic sans for a big accountancy firm. (Or ever for that particular font.) So straight away, i feel like they've designed this pretty badly. It doesn't look appropriate at all. When i look at their logo, i feel like it should be for a nursery or a creche. It's definitely aimed at the younger generation but even so, this looks way too young and doesn't reflect what it should. Also, you don't have to show what your company does in a logo or use part of the word for it to be a good logo. Just because they are called StarTale, doesn't mean they have to have a fucking happy star as their main logo -.-. It's quite lazy actually. For example, look at TL's logo. I personally love it and think it's really well designed. But it's a fucking horse that has no relevance to the name or what TL as a website do whatsoever.
2. Memorable - People have to look at your logo and instantly be about to identify who you are. I guess they've kinda done this, but for all the wrong reasons. You should try and make it have a memorability about it from it being simple and distinctive. Not because it makes you laugh every time you see it.
3. Simple - Most good logo's are quite simple, for example the MacDonald's logo or the Apple logo. They all feature something unique but at the same, it's not overdone. I feel like maybe that's what StarTale have tried to do but it doesn't feel like it's very simple at all and there's definitely nothing unique about it. Everything is quite generic. It has no style.
4. Timeless - Ideally, although this is not always possible. You want your logo to be timeless. Another words, in 50years time you still have the exact same logo. The example always used for this is Coca Cola who still have their logo that they made in the fricking 19th century. It gives you a very strong identity which is very important. This logo is definitely not timeless, and it will look much worse in a few years time than it does now (if they keep it, which tbh i don't think they will). This is why i personally don't like the web 2.0 trend. It'll just go out of fashion and it also makes your logo look quite generic.
5. Versatility - It has be effective in a variety of formats (this is why it being simple is important too, all the points kinda blend together) So you have to take into consideration what your logo is gonna look like on documents, in books, on websites, as a banner, in black and white, will it look good small? will it look good blown up? There's a ton of questions you've gotta ask yourself when designing something. I feel like they've not taken this into consideration at all, because their logo just isn't versatile.
All in all, i'm glad they tried to change their logo, because just a few weeks ago i was talking to a friend and commented on how generic it was compared to some of the other team logo's. But they've gone the wrong way about it. In my opinion at least anyway.
oh... boy... ._. i coulld make a beastly design for them within the hour whyyyy startaleee
edit: they could have atleast given the star a badass face :< bomber usually looks like a stonecold murderer,b ut i don't know if i can take it seriously anymore >O<
I'm still waiting for "You just got trolled". But srsly? this can't be true? You find this kind of logo from like kiddie shows/cartoons or one those kiddie restaurant that host kid's parties.
Why? I mean the old logo wasn't great, but it was better than that. I can't understand why anybody would like that picture because in my opinion it looks awful. Please tell me you're trolling.
The original design was actually really bad to be fair, it was probably the "ugliest" of the team logos since it looked like a really quick 3D render. This design is at least...memorable, and I support it greatly for the funnies.
If you look at the other logos, the only ones that need a real rehaul are Hoseo and MVP.
If it was just some random without the icc. or something in front of his name i would have it was trolling, no pro team can have a logo that cute and cuddly

I actually think NSHoseo's logo is pretty good, even though it took me forever to realize that that symbol is a combination of an N and an S. It would make sense, though... :/
I actually like this new logo, it reminds me of The Legendary Starfy, and similar awesome things.
Their old logo was horrible but this omega kawaii star face is too amusing. Anyway, what's so wrong about putting a star on the logo of a team called Startale? It's like many north american sports teams: Chicago Bulls :insert bull:, Miami Dolphins :insert dolphin:. It looks cool for a team logo.

If you look at the other logos, the only ones that need a real rehaul are Hoseo and MVP.
I actually think NSHoseo's logo is pretty good, even though it took me forever to realize that that symbol is a combination of an N and an S. It would make sense, though... :/

it also contains the H for Hoseo if you look again. Pretty well designed if you ask me.

What does it say about me that I would love for that to happen?

Yeah I don't like this new logo either. But TL should really get a robot unicorn logo.
Fuck it, just rename the team to CareBearTale Fingerboom.
I thought about StarTroll, but I thought it could hurt some people...
I mean, I'm not quite sure if it's a troll, but I'm really having troubles believing that any serious sports/esports/ESPORTS/female beach volleyball(ok well, maybe this one...) team would use this as a logo...
Anyways, it "Seems to be quite a different culture", to quote MMA...
First Diamond trolls us with this thread. Then TL trolls us by featuring this thread. It's the only logical explanation I can think of. This can't be real.
I don't know if I should laugh or cry. This is almost as bad as IM's McDonalds uniform lol. I never realy liked the Star Tale logo though -.- I thought it was too unrefined compared to the OGS or SlayerS logo.
I went to bed thinking this just had to be a real good troll by startale, waking up and seeing it to still to be true, what is startale thinking xp. I guess maybe they want to be more family friendly. Cant wait to see july in his uniform with this logo.
Seems a little childish. Other one with shield a wings seems more marshal/militaristic is is more applicable to a sci fi war game. Oh well whatever makes them happy.

The coach has to sing the My Little Pony theme whenever they walk out to play in the GSTL. :3

Fixed.
It'll be worth everything to see July "flutter" over to the booth.
Has anyone else ever got the impression that the Korean's treat Starcraft like a childrens show? Im certain that they dont, in general, but I have had this worrying feeling before... :S
On the positive side. You can clearly understand the "star" in startale now. Their old logo had nothing to do with stars. Also the annoying race icons have finally been removed. Who would ever want to see those on the logo of a starcraft pro-team. Lastly they got rid of the stupid wings and replaced them with more stars in the background.
Holy shit no way this is real, if it is i would get the fuck off startale if i played for them, are they trying to make E-Sports a joke? I don't even know what to say...
Not gunna lie, its pretty freaking ugly. The old one could've been cool if it was a blue/purple scheme, with some scaling changes. This new one..... so ugly, maybe could be changed if it was made more rainbow colored looking, or something to fit the childish theme.

The funny thing is that july, rainbow, superstar, bomber, ace, tester and fruitdealer are all 22-27 years old, and now they'll have to walk around with a logo that looks like it's from a children's show.
Now I want the team logos enabled just like in the BW forums so I can have that happy star while I shout God of War at my friends whenever they bring up their slayers or ogs teams.

Does this mean an actual committee of real human beings approved this?
Thing is, I was watching Rainbow's stream yesterday, and I saw Bomber's logo on his shirt at mlg. Both had the old ST logo going, so even if this is true, they haven't changed out all their gear and imagery yet.
Why do they hate their original logo so much? This new logo is very plain and generic. A star with a mouse inside it? Don't know if you can get anymore generic. Maybe if we complain about this a lot like the last logo they will take back this change too!
I have no idea where they get the idea that their original logo is bad...? To the best of my knowledge, mice of that color were phased out long ago. It's still better than that abomination that was the last attempted logo change.
I love you, StarTale. Never change. (And by that, I mean, please don't make this your new logo, but please continue to make horrible logos for people to laugh over.)
Wow I did not see this... again it is terrible. The first one was the best imo. It looked a bit ugly, but it was tolerable. I will have to agree with the idea of having a community contest for the logo.
theyre trying too hard to make add a star to it. the common theme of the best logos is simplicity. it should look as good all over a monitor as it does as a patch on someones arm.
Does anyone even care about a team's logo? A generic, inoffensive logo works just fine. This is probably just a ploy by Startale to get more attention.
I like the latest one the best. The second one was bad and the first one looks like garbage. Maybe if they put a little more effort into the original I would like it more but it looks like it was made by some teenager that thinks he's a graphic designer.
EDIT: Tbh from a quality perspective I guess the second one is best. Maybe it's the image quality of the latest one but the colors are so dull.
Dude, brown/yellow/green? Im male and thus offcourse slight colorblind, bit that.. wow.. Someone send startale a memo about 99designs.com, for 200$ bucks they can have a custom made logo that'll be made by designers who love... well.. design stuff I guess.
It looks like a spoof, retro billboard poster that you'd see in something like the new Fallout games. Startale needs to just higher a real graphic designer, this shit can only be explained by in-house novice development.
I liked the second one. It was way cuter and cooler than the other two alternatives in my opinion. I do have to agree that it's really weird how they continue to change logo all the time O_O
The original looked the best from far, but once you get up close, it does not look that good.
The second one at least had an adorable star in it making marketing a little more easier.
This new one, bleh i don't know what to think of it.

oh come on...the new one isnt that bad lol. It looks kinda like the logo to some run down bowling alley but it has a more serious tone to it. The one with the smiling star looks terrible -.-
lol, a ball mouse. But at least they are attempting to better their image, just don't think they are there though, they probably need some professional advertising help
LMAO, Startale... never stop with your crazy logo changes. xD I'll never understand how they can have so much difficulty getting a good logo design from an incredibly simple concept like "startale". Needs more star power, less Disney throwback:

haha the part about the run down bowling alley was spot on! The smiling star would've been awesome imo though. Looks glorious.
The first one would've been my pick if I was the one to make the choice for my team though. For sure.
It looks a bit more serious than the star one. It has an american feel to it. Very baseball-ish. I don't know why they keep changing though, I liked their first logo the best.
Ahahahahahaha this is so funny.. I never thought they could come up with an idea weirder than the last one. Looks like a baseball team logo, or a 70s logo, or a fallout inspired logo.
Really though it looks like an old cartoon. I like it less, but I do feel a little nostalgia when I see it. I could get used to it, but it's not great.
Wait the BOTTOM picture is the new one? I was about to defend the first picture dear god thats absolutely TERRIBLE are they trying to be the most flamboyant SC2 team out there?
This seems like an old topic. The original post was made back in August, however I completely agree with everyone in the thread. The new logo is absolutely terrifying. It looks like it has an apple in its mouth.

This is their 3rd logo. They changed to the 2nd one in August. No one liked it. So they've changed it, but it's still very weird.
The problem with this was nailed on page one. It looks like it's from the 70s. On top of that, esports club? Sounds more like a bunch of guys that get together to drink, play poker, and watch GSL than a proteam that contains the likes of Bomber and July.
I don't see why they feel the need to look for a new logo. I like their current one. It isn't the most innovative design, but really all a team logo has to be is in-offensive(as in, you don't feel a negative response on sight). As long as it's worn by top players fans will be happy to wear it on a shirt or jacket. This new design though... Even if all my favorite players left their current teams and joined ST, i'd have a tough time not being embarrassed wearing something with that logo.
Meh, they 'change it' but really they use the same patches for their uniforms etc... plus they change it like every month... I'm sure they'll just keep switching it up until they finally get one that doesn't look terribad.
I like their humor tho, but to be honest it could look a bit more 'professional' and 'cooler'. Startale is not a bad name to design a logo on. Have a feeling they are not serious, but who knows ;D
Modernist's looks nice but doesn't feel special or appropriate to me (just a star, obvious choice, 'eh? ^_^), but these two newer ones are terrible, especially the lower one with the face *shudder*. What was wrong with the original red->yellow gradient shield with wings?? Yet more money wasted on poor advertising.
With all due respect to the one who came up with the logo design, maybe Startale should have a logo design contest so that they'll have more designs to choose from.
funny. The logo itself is pretty bad, but it actually looks good on the team outfits. I would argue that the "e-sports club" is pointless though. It's too small to read on the uniforms and it ruins the design as a whole there.
But still, they could probably end up with something nicer if they just let their fans do the work.

More like because of the negative critics, no one liked it.
