There is no doubt that ForGG is the very best bw player to switch over to sc2 currently. What about Nada? He won like 6 starleagues right? This kind of talk is useless, there isn't a true active "A" teamer that has switched over yet from BW (someone like Stats, Zero, Jaedong, Jangbi, etc) that was still in his prime when he switched. However, MVP is probably the closest we got to that. Actually ForGG was an active A-teamer of the modern era who was better than MVP even at the time of retiring. Nada won his last SL in 2006 before the modern era (post-savior) started.
hahaha, not to bash, but it's funky to refer to BW this way.
2005BS (before savior) 2006AO (after iloveoov)
i personally don't think forgg was very active, and remember that he kept falling out of individual leagues early, as well as losing the proleague matches he played--- all after his win over jaedong and the next season after that.
nada was playing well no matter what, and MVP hit a semifinals or so and played in proleague really often.
we also have july who won over best in 2008 and finally got his golden mouse. there's no argument at all that forgg is one of the players who has retired closest to the release of sc2 out of the old pros who are now playing the new game. who was exactly the closest to retiring near their prime, relative to sc2 coming out? i don't even think that really matters.
even one month is a big amount of time to not be playing a game or practicing, let alone 1 year or more. unless jaedang switches over right now, i really think the playing field is quite level although i'm really looking forward to mr.T's play right now : D

wow this is great news! hope jaedong will switch to sc2 too..

My friend said ForGG is more accomplished than MVP, but at the time of both of them leaving bw, MVP was slightly better. He said after his 2008 title win, he kind of fell off and became a middling player for a middling team. Compared it to fruit dealer's decline although nowhere near as drastic. Weird thing to say considering how forgg qualified for the Ro8 in the MSL more recently than MVP did, although admittedly MVP's kill list (Bogus, Effort twice, Best, Stork, Baby, 1-3 vs Flash) was more impressive than forgg's (Puzzle [yes that one], July, Zero, Hogil, Free, hero, 0-3 to Flash). The hidden moral of the story is that everyone dies to Flash, right? except for Jangbi. That OSL... wow. The finals was even better than that series. Game 5 of the finals vs. Fantasy O_O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Real nail biter.

This made me lol really hard. That was the first time I played StarCraft and I actually liked it quite a bit at first. Then I got Age of Empires 2 for the computer, and I thought SC was just a sack of shit and I didn't care about it, thanks to SC 64. Then came 2005-2006, and I find out BW is actually super awesome and is a pretty big deal... Well, that's what happens when you don't have much access to the Internet until you're 14, and your elementary school friends either didn't game too much or played random console games or RPGs. :'( My plan is to take my friends N64 and copy of StarCraft 64 to IPL 3 in Atlantic City and try to convince some pro's to play it. LOL!! They will rage like crazy if they do it XD

However, MVP is probably the closest we got to that. Is Jaedong really considered to be just A class now? Does that mean S-class is just Flash? Though you're right, everyone who has switched I wouldn't consider A class at the time. A-teamer and A-class are different things btw. You can be S-class and A-teamer (Jaedong, Flash, Bisu etc..). Just wanted to point it out.
Well technically right now Jaedong isn't really S-Class and hasn't for a while now. Zero and Hydra have both surpassed him
Granted he has had a lot of big crap to deal with such as Hwaseung disbanding and his grandfather passing away however he started 'doing poorly' before that (I'm not going to use the 'S' word here)

It's pretty cool how in his retirement announcement interview he was all secretive about his reason for retiring. Now it's confirmed.

Thanks for the great news. I'm really happy to hear ForGG is going to be back. I must've watched 50 or 60 of his replays last month while reminiscing. *fistpump*

Hm, interesting, let's see how he doessssss

This is good for SC2.
He'll probably be a consistent code S player once he breaks thru the qualifiers, especially if he sticks to terran. I don't see him owning the scene tho, he doesn't have more talent than the current top players.

I seem to have woke up in bizzaro world where MVP was ever considered good and ForGG (and apparently Snow) is/was S-class.

Code S is SC2 for the top 32 players in korea Code A is the next 32.
S class is obviously the greats at any period in time.
Stork/Flash/Jaedong (bisu never counts for this anti-fan )

and to the person saying he had a great run and therefore it wasn't out of nowhere, ns... he played amazingly in that starleague. but outside that he didn't achieve that much. still loved watching him stomp zergs with timing attacks every game.
