http://www.teamliquid.net/news/ If I want to find out about IPL 3 or IEM Guangzhou, I have to dig around or go to Liquipedia. Under teamliquid's logo the first thing is "Starcraft progaming news", but really, what news is there? A preview article is not news. We've had the NASL fortnightly recaps (to their credit, out quickly, however, also mainly spoiler free and unhelpful in terms of news), and a review of Dreamhack Valencia just under a fortnight after... the two korean tourneys are well enough represented, but the fact of the matter is, almost a fortnight after the relatively big news of idra winning a major tournament, there is NO official source detailing this information on the main site. I don't want to dig around the forums to find an old LR thread that is in a big forum full of other threads, especially since if I want to find out anything more about the match than just the results and poll (ie: anything notable that happened) I have to hope there was a live report, or just trawl through pages and pages of useless chatter. I don't want to have to go to Liquipedia and just get raw numbers with no analysis/input/anything. I'm not really sure what would be best, but my suggestion would be to have a section (with community news and sponsor news) that is Tournament News or something similar, that would have brief breakdowns of the tournament (top 5 matches, ones to watch, etc), and the same sort of spoilered-up format that the LR threads have. A sort of aggregation of (potentially) several days worth of LR threads. Not quite sure how it'd work, but that's what I'd like. Something I can go and find on monday morning, that isn't pages and pages of interesting, witty, and insightful writing like your current articles, but just a quick recap/summary of that tournament. EDIT: The little link in the banner to the IPL portal was useful, but not enough IMO. It should be a featured news article, with a giant picture and text something like "IPL 3 GOING ON RIGHT NOW! CLICK HERE FOR ACCESS TO LATEST BRACKETS NEWS BLAH BLAH BLAH"

Exactly! Would you browse ESPN when you didn't want to know the results of say, the Superbowl? (

So, yeah, fuck spoilers, if we do know that TL will publish articles on main results on main page, then we will just have not to go to TL if we don t wanna get spoiled a particular result...

More seriously though, I do agree that all this... spoiler-free environment sort of does reduce the hype that so many events deserve. I certainly wouldn't mind a revolution in TL policy. Edit: Another thing is that even if you avoid the LR threads for whatever event you don't want spoiled, it's quite likely you'll get spoiled anyway somewhere else on TL, since people are constantly referring to the latest news. Thus, if you don't want to get spoiled, you shouldn't go to TL until after you've watched what you want to watch. In other words: it won't matter if the results are displayed on the front page or not.

One interesting point that Jibba raised a few pages ago though, is that TL news are written by volunteers and not paid Journalists who can instantly write a news, and that the delay is what allows for the quality of the write-ups. That said, having two types of news would be cool still, one short news instantly, and then later a high quality write-up.

This is why they pay the players, to advertise for them. If even a victory in a tournament doesn't get publicity then what's the point in sponsoring players?

Who goes to the ESPN site for advice on their throw, or to blog, or even just to engage in general discussion about news and other events? The GSL is practically impossible to watch live in the US, and occurs during the working week, making it doubly hard to catch up on. What is being proposed here would keep me (and others) away from TL throughout the work week, which would vastly decrease their traffic.

If there's a UFC event, I stay away from the MMA thread on my most frequented forum. And I certainly don't go to my preferred MMA site.

And then TL could perhaps add a "spoiler" tab in options, where if you tick you don't see the spoilers on the news panel on the left.

Do we really want to have an anticlimactic homepage just to please the 5% spoilers-freaks people ? Poll: Do think live tournament results on TL frontpage is a good idea ? Yes (4507) No (386) Yes, but only if TL add a spoilerfree VOD page that is easily accessible. (364) 5257 total votes Your vote: Do think live tournament results on TL frontpage is a good idea ? (Vote): Yes Not bad op. 85.34% of statistics on the internet are made up but apparently yours wasn't.

I would love to see big pictures, headlines and articles the time a tourney is over.
