HOUSTON, Texas — October 21, 2011 — Today Quantic Gaming is proud to announce its ground-breaking partnership with the world’s top performing StarCraft 2 team from South Korea, Incredible Miracle. This partnership, dubbed “Quantic Incredible Miracle”, makes Quantic Gaming the official representative organisation for all Incredible Miracle players competing internationally.
Founded in 2010, Incredible Miracle has since become a force to be reckoned with in the StarCraft 2 scene, both in Korea and internationally. Their unrivalled line-up of players has not only garnered them respect and admiration from countless fans, but has also secured them over half of all GSL Code S trophies ever awarded. Their impressive list of victories makes them one of the celebrated and most successful StarCraft 2 teams in the world.
This news comes in the wake of the recent additions of Kim “SaSe” Hammar and Steven “Destiny” Bonnell to Quantic’s StarCraft 2 roster.
Incredible Miracle’s coach and manager, Mr. Kang Dong-hoon, had this to say in regards to this alliance:
“Many major foreign teams have approached me in the past, seeking to partner with me. However, all their offers were only ever focused on the short-term, and none of them offered the kind of special relationship I was interested in. I declined all of these offers straight away... but this relationship, this alliance, it is different.
Quantic really wants to help my team and players, to bring them to the world stage and to the international marketplace. Quantic wants to do this in a way that both honors and respects what we have built as well as gives our players the attention and exposure they rightfully deserve. For this, I will share my knowledge and experience with my North American counterparts, so that all Quantic IM players can be the very best they can be, to reach their true potential. I feel that this is not just a business partnership, but also a friendship. A friendship which I look forward to keeping well into the future.”
As a result of this partnership, all Incredible Miracle players competing internationally will do so under the “Quantic Incredible Miracle” name with the tag “QIM”. We look forward to having the Quantic roster being able to reach out and practice with their IM counterparts. Look for Quantic and IM to be interchangeable in the near future and also the possibility of more "foreign" presence in Korea,
Quantic is excited to a part of this revolutionary alliance. It is hoped that the relationship between our two teams will continue to flourish and deepen as we move into the future.

Holy smokes this is huge. More MVP & NesTea at international events + a korean training house for SaSe, Destiny and others is a win win win win win win. Go QIM!
Excellent news! Although I do wonder if Quantic's involvement in this week's announcements is not over yet, especially given some of the hints in the hype video...
Great news! This is so awesome Best of luck to everybody involved into this! Also... that seems to mean that we will see more of MVP and NesTea in the future 0.0
Love seeing all these Korean/Foreign partnerships. More stability for teams, players get to travel more, and foreigners have avenues to train in Korea. Sounds great to me :D.
Waaaht in the FUCKSICLES. Jesus! A couple weeks ago quantic, to me, was just this newbie team that had the guy who used to be on EG. Now They're hooking up with the (arguably, whatever) best team in korea. You guys know your stuff!
Quantic and IM, wow this is a great working relationship. Sase is going to have the one of the best Terran and Zerg line-ups to practice against with MVP, Happy, dreamer tt, Fenix and Yoda. Losira, Nestea for zerg, Sase going to get so good I feel. So cool this partnership. Hope to see Nestea and MVP at more international tourneys besides Blizzcon.
Im just sad that the Q before the IM will ruin some jokes :p but besides that this seems good news and a really nice opportunity for Sase to improve and some IM players to play abroad more often.
Holy crap. Congrats to SaSe, Destiny, their other players as well as IM and QxG. This is truly good news. Just wondering where EG fits in, considering Quantic's teaser video...
I guess we now know why you chose qxg out of all teams. This is really great for all involved parties and really shows serious commitment into sc2 from quantic.
Don't know what to be more excitet about though, more IM players at global events or Sase getting the IM-treatmen!

It's up to Nestea if he wants to do that, I'm sure he'll Juxtapose his own progression in comparison to wasting the time to teach destiny a thing or two.
The best thing destiny can do is just sit behind Nestea and observe his games, but that won't be always as Nestea lives with his wife, but he does visit the house occasionally.
I guess he can look over Losira's shoulder though, but Losira will have the same mindset as Nestea and will most likely be to busy with his own goals and higher skilled practice partners.
I'm happy for sase, he plays A LOT in Korea and worked hard for it. This should be good for Destiny as well, he gets a real opportunity to improve dramatically. Hopefully he takes full advantage of the situation for what it is and doesn't slack off since this is his first time in Korea if I remember correctly?
So all IM players competing in the GSL will still use the IM tag, all IM players competing out of Korea will use QIM, and Sase/Destiny will use QIM everywhere?
Is that right?
edit: Congratulations to both parties, makes sense why Sase/Destiny would join Quantic

So cool! I just hope that if destiny does end up going he stays for a while so he actually gets to become the beast that I always have hoped he would become.
I never really understand how we should look at partnerships like this. When I think of Sase, should I think of quantic gaming as a team with certain deals outlined with IM, or should I think of quantic and IM as a merged team?
And now joining the SC2 legends, the most dominant players in SC2 with legends such as:
IM_Nestea, best zerg of the world, 3 times GSL champion. Only champion with an undefeated record IM_MVP Best player in the world, dominant, 3(and maybe even 4) GSL titles. World championship chamion. IM_Losira arguably the 2nd bes Zerg in the world, GSL semifinalist. Crazy hair color.
All joined by:
QIM_Destiny.... He streams, went to MLG. Prtety popular fella.
E: Not to mean i hate Destiny or anything(I am a huge fan) but hahah it feels weird having someone like Destiny(who lets face it has little tournament results) in the same team as beast such as MVP, Losira, nestea, Happy . et al
How will this work with the steelseries sponsorship of MVP + Nestea? I guess everyone in IM is sponsored by Quantic but MVP + Nestea are sponsored twice?
Let's see if they were on the ball enough to have MVP and Nestea set up with a QIM tag for blizzcon ;p.
Hoping this partnership brings more of IM to the rest of the world, both in terms of interaction with foreign fans and participation in foreign tourneys.
but what about destiny's kid? he has said before that he wouldn't want to leave his kid for a long period of time. if he does have it all sorted out though then I can't wait to see him learning from the best! Good Luck!
Niiiiiiiiiiiiceeee!!!! So glad for Sase IM and Quantic. They were serious about having a really exciting announcement, it definitely lived up to the hype.
Damn that's some huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge news. I wasn't expecting that at all. But man this is exiting :D. Specially interested in seeing how Sase evolves in the IM house. (But also if Destiny can up his game, and to see mvp+nestea more in foreign events is going to be huuuuuuge :D).

I expect that QIM has already created the new accounts for those guys ahead if the announcement.
I'm so happy for SaSe, this is going to be great for him! Mad props to Quantics for going from an unknown to a world-class team under such a short time via gosu negotiation skills.

Nestea and MVP don't live in the IM house, they only practice online with them. Least he'll be living with Losira for however long though and hopefully learns enough korean to ask nestea for some games or tips on bnet but Nestea probably mostly busy doing his own thing and practicing with better players tbh.
I really hope Destiny gets better from this, he plays the game 10-12 hours a day while streaming but still can't get further than round 2 of MLG open bracket. Maybe now he'll at least come close to the championship bracket
wow, they already got best Terran and best Zerg in the world, now they also got the best Protoss! (ok, maybe not really, but for me, SaSe is the best :p)
On October 22 2011 03:16 Qumquat wrote: But what about Destiny's kid Other then that its reallly good news
People with kids still do stuff. Jesus.
Yeah I can't believe the amount of people saying stuff like that in this and the eg announcement thread. It's legally allowed to be away from your kid for a month or so....
Destiny is gonna have some sick zerg after practicing with NesTea, but even better than that, if this is international team partner NesTea to international events OMG
wow big news. thought it was startale for sure but this is even bigger. excited to see what sase can do in this next gsl as i think he has code A again.
That leaves hoseo, startale and TSL without a foreign partner I wonder if any of them will get a foreign partner, Mouzstartale? Dignitas SCV life? Millenium Hoseo? Man those would be awesome.
Man, no wonder Sase joined Quantic. Joining the IM house is probably the best thing he could have ever hoped for in terms of getting better. Hell, IM is even short on toss players so he might even get to play in next season's GSTL!
wow destiny is now on the same team as IMMVP. Who the hell would have thought... EG/Slayers TL/OGS FXO Col/MVP. looks liks NHSH, TSL, ST and prime are the only teams without foreign partnerships now.
This will help Sase improve even more and it will hopefully get Destiny out of the "Personality" Role many see him as. It seems like Destiny puts in as much time as Sase but it was never as serious so hopefully now he can take his game to another level.
I also hope this will help out players the other players on Quantic like iNka and Agh and hope that the "lower" rung of IM players start to get more exposure (YongHwa. Seed. Yoda).
Win Win Situation. Hopefully everything goes as good as it can for both parties.
On October 22 2011 04:02 alepov wrote: why did IM agree to this? Is quantic gonna pay them?
Support to come to NA tournaments. From their announcement, "As a result of this partnership, all Incredible Miracle players competing internationally will do so under the “Quantic Incredible Miracle” name with the tag “QIM”."

Ahhhh not sure if serious? Maybe when sase can win a code a game and not just use the free code a invites to lose in the ro32 I might agree. Sase has gotten 2 code a invites and lost in the first round both times easily. IM protoss aren't so lucky to get free code a spots like sase.
Destiny must of signed that contract in a heartbeat. Very exciting news, eSports just got a whole lot better for the foreigners. Along with EG + SlayerS, coL + Mvp.. it's so integrated.

That doesn't mean they wont get to practice with them. Also keep in mind IM has a ton of really good players.

Anyways super pumped as big fan of sase
I would assume so.
Huk got to play for OGS so i don't see why SaSe wouldn't
This is the most awesome team-news I heard in a long, long time. Here is to the further integration of the communities in Korea and the rest of the World and to one sick, sick team. I am a instant fan!
Think this will be a good indication of Destiny's "ceiling" as it were in this game. Between his new practice regimen and this trip, we'll see where how his game develops. He'll become an entertaining player or a playing entertainer.
Wooow, congrats to everyone involved! I was a bit dissapointed when I heard Sase joined Quantic, but only because I wanted him in a Korean team. After hearing this I am just super happy, there is no better team in the world and having Sase move in with them permantently is just insane!
First I want to say that this is awesome. Now don't take the following comment the wrong way, but I think it's a little funny how probably the strongest foreign team (EG) is partnered with one of the weaker Korean teams (SlayerS) and one of the weaker foreign teams (QxG) is partnered with one of the strongest korean teams (IM).
Again, all 4 are amazing. I'm not knocking anybody here.

I'm curious as to how you're assessing the strength of the Korean teams, because it seems to me that SlayerS is a stronger team than IM overall, seeing as how they have the most players in Code S by far and have one of the deepest line-ups in the GSL.
Edit wrong thread Seriously cannot wait to see how much this helps Sase and Destiny thou. O and having IM players at major events across the world is amazing
SaSe's choice of team doesn't seem so weird all of a sudden; this was probably the best deal he could've gotten in terms of getting both Korean and foreign event experience.

Can see SaSe will overcome HuK to become the best foreigner Protoss in the world already. Hell I love Nani but he doesn't have MVP/Nestea/Losira and Younghwa to practice with lol
I don't want to take something away from YongHwa and seed, but it was time for IM to get a decent protoss in their house. Didn't expect Destiny to go to Korea with having wife and kid tbh, kinda curious how that will turn out, but overall i like this deal, hoping or some IM players internationally not just Nestea and MVP.
All I said this is serriously.... Well. Honestly? Being away from your kid is tough. My ex came with child, but after 5 years we broke up. Was still tough being away from the kid. I do think that might take a toll on destiny at first, though hopefully there is a way he can still 'see him'
Though this is like the best news I've ever heard QIM HWAITING!

btw, is drewbie still practicing with IM?
On what basis do you think sase is better than yongwha and seed? I'm pretty sure yongwha/seed could lose in ro32 with free code a invites too, which is all sase has accomplished in korea. Just cause those 2 don't get free code a invites, no need to underrate them and overrate sase.
excellent news! glad SaSe is getting such great opportunities after having been teamless for so long ^^ gratz to all of Quantic and IM, and fucking Destiny ofc
Stick a post on teamliquid about Destiny possibly having any association with IM about a week ago and you'd likely have been mocked in the 6-10 posts before the thread was locked.
Congrats to QxG for this sick partnership and to Destiny specifically for an enormous opportunity. Hopefully this opportunity allows him to mature as a player and become more than just the most popular streamer, but also one of the most skilled foreigners (and less likely to make excuses for not performing well at MLGs :D)
Wow. And I thought it was going to be EG. Well, still got it close - EG seems to be partnering with Slayers, which is the other super epic Korean team; and I got right that IM is going to partner with someone. Gl Destiny, get as good as Nestea and Losira.

For the foreign teams I think it's obvious which is stronger, as for the Korean teams, I based that assumption off of team league results and the fact that MVP and Nestea are the 2 best players in the world. Honestly I haven't followed team league in the past couple of weeks, so I could be wrong, and if so, I take back what I said.
Wow quantic is really coming out of nowhere for this. Wonder if they'll try to snatch up some more foreign talent in the near future (not sure who's contract is coming up when). Good for them and scary for the rest of the world that MVP and Nestea will be traveling more.
Yay~ Another partnership geared towards bringing Koreans to the international scene! And not just any, the best of the best of the best sir!
As excited as I am to see Nestea and MVP in international tournaments more, I'm also looking forward to seeing players like Losira, Yongwha and other hidden players they have

Im gonna be honest, im a little apprehensive about Nestea being a good practice partner. Hes openly admitted to not practicing seriously with his own teammates like Losira and doesnt actually live at the team house. Dont get me wrong, practicing with nestea on any level is sure to be a benefit and being able to talk strategy with him is nothing to sneeze at. Im just saying that I have a hard time seeing someone like him, who already has tendencies oh being independent, opening helping the quantic guys with 100% of his effort. (Btw, this is probably an issue with all teams. Ex. Idra and demuslim not practicing together, mc refusing to share replays with huk etc.)

Huk asked for replays, MC didnt give him replays. Which part is a lie? Again its not a bad thing, their all competitors and SC2 is an independent sport and therefore should be not surprise that players care about themselves first. Huk and MC are obviously great friends but when it comes to their individual success, I dont expect them to have an altruistic approach.

Which part? I think its common sense. Neither Nestea nor Mvp lives at the IM house (source IMfenix's tour video.) Nestea hid strategies from Losira (source GSL interview), Nestea screws around in practice (MvP_sC gsl interview.) Idra and demuslim dont practice together (source, InC on SoTG), huk not getting replays from MC (Huk during some interview.) Again, Im not saying its a bad thing, having access to nestea and Mvp on any level is already of great benefit. I just dont see Nestea or Mvp showing all their cards to QxG guys. And again, im not isolating this to just IM and QxG, which is why I cited the EG situation.

And again, im not isolating this to just IM and QxG, which is why I cited the EG situation.
You do know IMfenix's tour was during a time that both MVP and Nestea were playing in the GSL.
Future tip: Assumption is the mother of all f-ups.
Read the thread he started and posted that video in. Its not stated in video, rather he talks about it in that thread that nestea and mvp do not live in the IM house. My mistake on stating that the video was the source, rather it was the thread.

Can we get some proof on your claims....
Which part? I think its common sense. Neither Nestea nor Mvp lives at the IM house (source IMfenix's tour video.) Nestea hid strategies from Losira (source GSL interview), Nestea screws around in practice (MvP_sC gsl interview.) Actually the FXO_sC interview suggest Nestea doesn`t try on ladder. Nothing to do with practice in his own team. How would sC know that? Nestea only said he screws around on LADDER.

Yeah, what the fuck are you talking about? Nestea has said time and time again in interviews that the ladder can't be used as a measure of anything as he (and many others) don't show their real builds there. MVP laddered as random for like 3 months =/ You think he screws around in practice too?

There's a lot more to team partnerships than the talent offered. MVP didn't partner with CoL so they could practice with Drewbie =P
I wish I knew what the benefits are. I think a lot of posters here would agree because I personally can't stand this occurrence due to a certain player from one of the teams. Perhaps someone knowledgable could explain the benefits of these kinds of partnerships.
Well it looks like the era of foreigners winning foreign events is over. Brave souls like Idra, Stephano and Huk managed to defeat the Korean scouting party, but the big dogs are coming now.

Are you serious? Destiny has no change against NesTea, he is the best ZvZ'er in the world, and beats every top zerg with ease in real tournament play, except dimaga, lol.

I'm going to pull a Nostradamus and say CheckSix + Prime !!! CheckSixPrime just rolls off the tongue :-P

CheckCheckSixPrime doesn't roll of the tounge though :D
The MLG interview is great, I don't really what position the IM translator has but he was so enthusiastic about the deal that was fun ^^. More MVP, more Nestea, more Losira, Happy etc, next year is going to be amazing . Holy shit, these guys streaming on Twitch tv , sweeeeeeeeet???

Good luck to QxG and IM!
There was a hype campaign backing the EG announcement, which was also used to discuss the QxG hype. The real thread about the announcement is like 20 pages long because it was expected.

I was just coming to say QxG should have had some over the top cryptic puzzle as well then they could have more hitz!
This is so good for Destiny and QxG in general. I'm kind of disappointed that IM and QxG are partnering because I really liked IM by itself, but I think it is for the best.
It's amazing how far Quantic has gone in a matter of a couple of months. From my perspective it seems like they've come out of no where, and are now partnered with what is in my opinion the best Korean team.
Someone extremely wealthy is funding them, that's for sure. Hope this works out!

there is this thing called money. foreign teams have a lot of it. korean teams dont have much. partnerships have foreign teams give korean teams money while growing their (foreign team) brand.
By which standard? New team, same people. Agh, Inka, Zelniq -> Lazarus Gaming rofl, not even close to new blood.
There arent going to be anymore overnight sensations. The skill level has gotten too high for osmeone nowadays to just sneak up on every1 and get to the finals of an MLG.

Who's talking about overnight sensations? It's been relatively the same people for many months. You're kidding yourself if you think the skill level has gotten too high, this is really nothing (especially for foreigners).

Not sure where I said that new blood were being robbed of exposure...
I remembered on a SOTG that Artosis was asked the same question (korean news piece) and reiterate that Major is in TSL, that's why I didn't redact that line. Going to edit if I can find the right sotg.
This will be a great opportunity for all players involved. Destiny may go to Korea, Mvp and Nestea will go to more foreign teams, and both teams can benefit from this partnership through training and practice.
I didn't see it posted, so here's an interview by Destiny on the teams, Korea, etc...
Quantic Gaming fields numerous competitive gaming teams, with presences in a variety of games including StarCraft 2, Call of Duty and Battlefield. As a subsidiary of Quantic Gaming, “Quantic Media” delivers compelling production grade media to tens of thousands of viewers each week, and is comprised of one of the most elite teams of directors, producers, and commentators in the industry
Got stared at like an idiot for thinking this gaming team was small-time and only Starcraft 2, from my lack of interest in FPS games that don't have / didn't have an RTS presence. Bigger than I supposed.

HOLY SHIT IF THAT'S TRUE!
Destiny said in his interview with Slasher that he won't even waste NesTea's time with practicing with him since Destiny said he hasn't even reached the NA skill cap.
Still I look forward to results from SaSe training with some of the best in the business.
