I made the Naugrim thread and I seem to be on time for this one as well. Seems like this is GG for team GG.

I have a feeling it was for lack of support to foreign tournaments or really anything for that matter, GG didn't really take their players anywhere.
LS would be a good choice for QxG to pick up.
|
Korean team? That be really cool.
|
Hmmm... Mildly disappointing, but somewhat expected.
|
I wonder why all the players left. Really bad situation for GosuGamers.
Good luck to LS & Oasis and co.
ps. LS, i hope your hand is (getting) better.
|
Maybe they were getting no support/communication from their managers
|
I guess he couldn't handle the pressure.

LS would be a good choice for QxG to pick up. He said in an interview(or was it a vlog) that he doesn't really care about foreign tournaments. Anyway, i hope he finds a good team.

Good luck to LS and all other players that were on GG. Seems like the team is kinda dead.
|
If Lastshadow finds a good Korean team and provided his hand doesn't hold him back, he will be beasting it up in no time.
|
hmmm interesting, not sure what is going on with GG atm.
|
|
I can't recall team GG doing ANYTHING in tournaments so this is totally expected.

Yep, I agree. Have to see GG.net's statement.

LastShadow is still a cheater and disliked player. No one really cares lol.

Where do you have that opinion from? He cheated in 07, he apologized and is not cheating anymore lol. Also why would he be disliked?

You dont know how much he has changed. Nothing like what he used to be many years ago. But putting manner aside, there is no doubt that he is skilled and most of all determined.

People clearly care, as you can see even from this topic alone >_>

At first I really thought Team GG had a lot of potential, maybe even enough to rival TL.
But a lot of time passed by and their biggest names were Lastshadow and Naugrim :S Gosugamers.net is such a big site, I dont understand why they couldnt form a better team.

"We believe that in electronical gaming, as in any sport, fair-play, sportsmanship, respect, and good manners are important. Further establishing these values in the online gaming community is the vision of GosuGamers."
When representing a page/team/community with a vision/description like that, it goes without saying that he didn't meet the requirements. I wish him the best and his dedication will probably get him places, but as far as him being in Team GG goes, I'd say good riddance. Hopefully they won't allow anyone who's decent/skilled just because they're friends with the manager, but actually set a standard and keep it.
On a side not, I do agree that the "he cheated" stuff isn't really viable anymore. He's clean and has done a lot of nice stuff for people seeking help etc.
|
I really like LastShadow. I hope he can find a new team which supports him in Korea.
All the people still talking about the cheating stuff when he was a kid need to stfu.
|
never heard anything about team gosugamers. specially that their players are participating in offline tournaments . didnt see any1 of them in the GSL qualis
|
Naugrim attended DH Summer 2011 (correct me if I'm wrong). Apart from that I haven't seen any other offline activity.
|
I didn't know GosuGamers had a team. I never hear anything about them anymore, not even TL making fun of them. Times have changed

Naugrim left team GG aswell, apperently they didn't send him to DHW like they were supposed to o_o

Really? TONS of people were caught cheating in SCBW that are fairly big in the community now in SC2.
Think back on yourself 5 years ago. I was an idiot 5 years ago and did tons of things I regret. These people who cheated shouldn't be shit on for the rest of their lives because of it - especially because most of the cheating was done in minor events.

TeamLiquid has officially forgiven him. When you forgive someone for something you're not allowed to throw it in their faces anymore or judge them by it.

Comparing someone who maphacked on ladder to someone who threw matches for thousands of dollars?
LS did a lot of stupid things. He was a teenager for heck's sake. Don't tell me you did nothing stupid while you were a teenager?
He has been forgiven and was given a second chance. He has not taken it lightly and is practicing his hear away. Everyone derserves a 2nd chance and so does Lastshadow, Dimaga, HayprO, TT1, and everyone else who hacked in bw. All them have taken their 2nd chances and made good with the community.
Savior threw big important matches for a lot of money. He organized a big match fixing ring. There is a big difference.
|
I'm against holding things over people for all eternity but there is a significant difference in intent and severity between what guys like LastShadow did and people who abused to qualify for TSL at the 11th hour. Both bad decisions but to be caught cheating your opponent, and then cheating again after being caught is worse than taking freewins. It just is, the same way not all crimes are equal and to pretend otherwise is ignorance.
People can change and people make mistakes, no matter how big or small. But to say LS = Dimaga = F91 = Testie = TT1 is bullshit

Has the community forgiven LastShadow mostly or not? I have a hard time disliking people for very long :/
Back on topic, It kinda sucks that Gosugamers is dead, or looks like it is about to be. They had one of the best team names imo.
Edit: Also for those who hate Lastshadow, Everyone deserves a second chance. He was a lot younger when he hacked and now he practices a lot and is serious about improving. I am not saying what he did was right, infact it was extremely wrong and very stupid but everyone deserves a second chance. Trying to cheat is something a lot of people when they are younger might try to do, no reason to not give them a second chance eventually. Just my 2 cents but like I said, hard to take my opinion seriously when I can't really stay angry at people for very long lol

Thats exactly what I was trying to say, while TL seems to have a hard time letting LS move on from the hacking he did when he was 14 there are many who wish to see Savior back playing as a pro despite how much worse his actions were than LS's. (I understand of course why people think this, Savior was a special player)

It obviously has nothing to do with the fact that they lived together for several months and are good friends, no its all about Nick being arrogant. I'm not saying he isn't (a lot of sc2 pros are quite arrogant) its just that is an awful awful example.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect people to NOT be effing retards and regard evidence and facts more than sensational drama. If they want to think of someone as an arrogant douche, they can go read a gossip magazine.
As anyone who was best friends with their roommate in college can tell you, living together for months or years breeds some deep deep loyalty.

Nah its just a bad example, LS is arrogant to a degree but says quite a bit on stream how bad he is at the game
+ Show Spoiler + A better example of the whole arrogance thing would be when he was reviewing a replay yesterday and said that his 2x speed was more like 8x cos of how fast he is

I can't see any team with a brand to protect pick him up any time soon. It will probably be a smaller/newer team which can't afford to be picky.

I don't think he should be criticized for his record. Everyone does stupid things in their teens that they would be ashamed off, dosen't mean they wouldn't grow out of it. So far, he looks fine and in his interview, he looks really determined as well as being a nice guy.

Could you all please, please stop the fucking cheating debate. It's so full of shit and hypocrisy and it gets brought up every. single. goddamn time TT1/LS are being mentioned in any thread on reddit or TL (but everyone loves DIMAGA and HayprO). There is a reason why these guys got absolution from TL, it's so people like you can lay their pitchforks to rest and say, it's ok boys, you have your second chance.
Go and complain about Deezer if you want to bash a player or do some other useful thing FFS. This makes me so mad...
