EDIT: To elaborate more seriously, I have a feeling whomever is in charge of team LgN is seriously out of touch with the community. I think from a swift glance, seeing Desrow, a streamer who gets what, maybe 1k viewers at a time, and is in the highest league of sc2, one could assume he is actually really good. Furthermore, from a quick glance at the community, one could suppose that if you send someone to Korea, they become an insta-star. Neither of these assumptions are correct however - the only foreigners who have gone to Korea and met with legitimate success were people who already had strong results in foreign tourneys (Desrow has none). He will not do well in Korea, he will spend time on the Korean mid masters ladder, and then he will come home, no one but his stream viewers will notice the change or the trip and LgN will be several thousand dollars shorter. This all said, I hope he proves me wrong and takes off and becomes a foreigner hope. I just can't see someone whom I've only heard of because he beat Incontrol and Idra with 4gates becoming something huge or worthy of a ticket to Korea. Sorry.

Has nobody looked into this yet? You're seriously a giant dick for posting this for basically no reason. Haven't you noticed that nearly every streamer has countless fans that mostly come out to support them? Look at the top left of the page. The vast majority of TL users aren't even logged in most of the time, and announcements about their favorite players are a great reason for them to come in and show support. Good luck desRow. I admire your passion and dedication, and while I might not be appreciative of every trait about you, I hope you have a great time in Korea and improve a lot. Edit: Desrow has a lot of fans because of his personality, not his skill level. By sending him to Korea you are isolating the majority of viewers from his stream. He obviously won't make it into Code A. This move just doesn't make sense. I hope Desrow views this as a vacation and doesn't train too hard in Korea. I have to humbly disagree. desRow is paying the majority of this on his own, with support from Maxfrag (with little/no support from Legion). Korea server practice is often more interesting and attractive to stream viewers, and accompanied with his (hopefully) increased skill level will definitely draw attention.

I know that this is only like my 5th post now, because I don't come here for fun to communicate with others or troll or whatever, but I can tell you that I only came here to support Desrow because I watch his stream on a regular basis. Maybe that is a similar situation for many other people. So you can take it as him trying to boost his own success, but I see it as him expanding many people's boundaries in e-sports by making them familiar with sites such as this or Reddit. GL in Korea Desrow! just to clarify, people who are not fond of desrow =/= haters pro-gaming is revolved around performance, the average reaction to such a news is very much correlated to the performance of the player. just remember for example a lot of people made fun of drewbie when he went to korea and like everyone considers him a better player than desrow and i haven't even seen one bashing or flaming post in this topic, people are just saying he's not up to the challenge and that is an objective observation;) people don't necessarily need to be sweethearts or dickheads

I disagree, as a stream viewer I prefer NA play to KR - on NA I know who must of they players they hit are etc etc, whereas on Kor it's by enlarge some Hangul named guy. Not to mention I doubt desrow will get high enough on kr ladder to hit any big names.

If you haven't noticed, he said he is going to korea to IMPROVE. His aim is to be in code A, notice how different that is from saying "I will be in code A next season" ? Everybody with big ambitions knows you need to have a semi-reachable goal, and Code A for Desrow is definitely reachable with enough practice and dedication. Its kind of frustrating to read posts like this, the guy is so dedicated to the game and tries hard to improve himself but then people come and go..... well you're no Michael Jordan, might as well not even try. He's paying for most of the trip himself in order to improve, don't see why people are being so pessimistic about it. Its his money.

Yeah, I am a giant dick, but that's kind of irrelevant. I'm used to that for people like Destiny, which I'm fine with. I see a lot of his fans on a regular basis. I'm just far more suspicious when it's desRow. I'm happy for more TL users, I'm not so happy when said TL users only sign up to post a single one-liner.

Detective tirentu, if you haven't noticed Nazgul posted in his previous thread and Chill posted in this one. I'm pretty certain they have already done IP checks and would of banned him if he was doing the self-promoting himself. Not to mention, he's been streaming for the past 2-4hours when this thread was posted. Kind of hard to make multiple accounts and play at the same time......

It won't be interesting to stream viewers unless Desrow can get high enough on the KR ladder to actually hit known Koreans. Otherwise, he'll just be losing to no-names that people don't care about at all, even if those no-names would be able to beat most NA "pros." His skill level will undoubtedly increase, but to be honest he hasn't really shown any promise even in NA. All the other notable guys to head over to Korea were already big deals in their home regions. Desrow is no Naniwa or Sase. Either way this is ultimately good for Desrow even if it's a silly move on his team's part. Sidenote: Desrow will be shockingly large for most Koreans.
