In November 2011 The Last Resort announced the addition of Lasse 'Deranging' Schmieding and their first foray into the RTS genre (TL Thread). Almost three months later they have announced the addition of a second player - the young Terran player, Frazer 'FzUsher' Whyte.
At only fifteen years of age, Frazer has managed to secure himself a position within the higher echelons of the Masters League and has ambitions to hit Grand Master shortly. Alongside playing Starcraft 2, Frazer considers himself to be a strong competitive chess player - a game which is often used in comparison to Starcraft.
Both Frazer and Lasse will be in action tomorrow as they take part in the Plantronics Gamecom EU Open. Their bracket contains several high ranking Korean's including Polt and ST_Rainbow - infact, if Lasse wins his first game he is likely to face Polt. Can he pull a miracle from the bag and defeat the Korean powerhouse?

Pls only make those threads if its for known players and teams.
|
I agree with chadissilent. These kind of threads should only be made for famous teams or famous players.
|
Something for the future.
|
Best of luck!
|
Hmm. I dont see how this is in any form news that would be interesting for the community. Gl tho to you both.

This guy is not even in the TLPD. Maybe its that rnb guy...
|
This is not even news any of us would care about, harsh words but true. Good luck.

You cared enough to post here. Also it feels like you just added the "Goodluck" so that you could bash his post, and still try and not come off as a douchebag. Pretty shady move. I say let TL do the moderating on what threads stay or not, rather than post and make the OP feel terrible about posting.
How do you expect a team to ever get "known" if no one is ever willing to give it a chance? Quantic being a perfect example before it picked up a few big name players.

Never heard of him before. I guess gl pal

Have you ever been on a forum? The thread will go away if it's not interesting.

you sir are killing E-SPORTS so please be happy for this person who knows maybe in a year of two he might win the TSL so please dont make comments like that you sound arrogant. Who are you? exactly, I just sounded like you.

Deranging is a baller, true story. Good luck to you guys, and gz to FzUsher. I wouldn't listen to the morons in this thread.

dude, he's HELPING esports, because it's coded language for "please give a better introduction of the player and the team than you did", so he's actually telling how to improve the op.
|
Why are people being so douchy? Every team starts unknown, you know.
Best of luck to both parties.

GL to you guys! but i don't know your team and there is no thread about that. So I agree with most of the comments wrote on in this thread. But please make a thread and explain who you are, I mean if you play against Koreans of this caliber you are probably really good

Can you at least link to his sc2ranks profile? We have no idea who he is, so it would be nice to have info with which to evaluate him.

People shouldn't whine if they don't know the players. I know both of these players! Gl to both of them FzUsher is a strong player.

Doesnt means he is ignorant. They are nobody in sc2, and they are recruiting a master player. Isnt really worthy of a thread in my opinion. This is just some attempt to get recognition.

I really think the team and/or players should accomplish something before threads like these are put up. I think it's great that he has aspirations to get better and all that but when you're trying to make a professional team post you should include some of the fruits of his labor, if there are any.

TLR is actually quite well established and known in other eSport scenes such as Counter-Strike: Source, Call of Duty 4, and other games. They do have a tendency to go on hiatus every few months however. More British involvement in SC2 is always good, as several prominent UK orgs such as Reason Gaming and TCM-Gaming still lack SC2 players.

People should be respectful about teams from other games establishing SC2 teams, NaVi came over and there was massive hype for it because of how good their other divisions were, this should be no different. Nice pick-up for the team and I hope to see it grow.

I just joined a local LAN team. Should I make a thread Drone?

A team becomes "known" by winning or showing good results in "known" tournaments such as GSL, MLG, IPL, IEM, Dreamhack, or by picking up players who have done well in "known" tournaments. Threads about unknown teams picking up unknown players are not - in my and others' opinions - to be threadworthy in the SC2 general forum.

lmao. Completes this thread. Actually, nvm, if Usher joined a team, it would actually warrant a thread.

Responding to this thread about why it should have never been made only encourages teams to continue to do it. The longer this thread is on the front page and is being bumped the more beneficial it is to an unknown team.
On a side note: Good luck with the new acquisition!

So you want to judge him based on his ladder ranking?

I think the problem is that none of us have been introduced to TLR as a SCII team yet, so jumping ahead and announcing that a certain player is joining just makes us go "what??"
If TLR is big in other games, maybe the first thing OP should do is introduce that TLR is making a SCII team as well (or if it's been around / already been announced... well noone here seems to know)...
|
TLR has been around forever, in cod4 and other games just fyi
|
TLR has been around forever, but for the most part this is a nobody joining a team that no one has heard of. In essence, no one on TL but a few really understand or care.
If this were MC joining SK, that would make more sense.
