Makes me pretty sad, I wish they had an option for even lower graphics. If your computer cannot handle this game on medium graphics, I question how old your computer is. My friends $600 computer can handle the game on medium. Maybe itstime for you to upgrade? A decent card doesnt cost that much; $150 will get you a nice one.

That is one of the worst ideas ive ever heard. And what did your friend get from being GM that you didnt get from being ANY other league? A high five? lol

However, I will admit that improving all things listed would help draw people to the game. But really I think the biggest drop in numbers comes from people being academically challenged at this point in the year.

This would just lead to people dragging games out to get more points.

None of my friends play anymore so I have even less reason too. I feel like Blizzard dropped the ball on things. There are still a lot of people that enjoy the game for what it is. I dont see how this is blizzards fault for you and your friends losing interest in the game. They didnt say you had to like the game, or continue liking the game. It is what it is, and its up to you whether you enjoy it or not lol. Again, a lot of people do enjoy playing the game, and a lot of people dont. Those that dont move on to other games, it really isnt a big deal.

In Custom games you play simply to learn, improve, and have fun. You recognize the other player as a person and that you are both trying to achieve the same goals. There is no inherent reward. Sure you could cheese every game in customs but you would quickly get bored and realize you are wasting your time. Also no one would want to play with you consistently. In Ladder people feel like the other player is trying to take their points and wreck their standing. It encourages the mentality of wanting to murder the other player and bm them. Everyone wants to gain points as that seems to be the whole point. Thus the easiest way is to use often cheesy or easy to execute strategies. Everyone ends up angry and hates each other. The problem is that the custom game interface is garbage, so until recently everyone laddered. I think a possible solution would be to improve custom games interface so people could use it to find players around their skill and change the ladder into a tournament system similar to the warcraft 3 tournaments. Just a thought

This would be a lot of fun, and give you something to work for without needing more then a 4-5 hour commitment whenever you have a free weekend day. Basically you sign up into a 32 or 64 man bracket and it puts you in to BO1 or BO3 through the bracket. No-shows become walkovers. No cost to enter. Everything is automated with a group chat channel created for the tournament players.

Just a thought Your comments about custom games are probably true, it is probably possible to make it easier to find other casual players using a different player finding system. About the actual ladder, it is 100% dependant on the players whether or not they value their "points" or not. These points and ranks and leagues actually dont mean anything; they dont give you anything of value. People can just change their attitudes about the ladder and everything would be fine. Blizzard cant force you to like the game. Some people like playing it for competition, and others think that it HAS to be about competition and are "scared" to lose for whatever stupid reason. None of this makes any sense to me at all. I really wish someone would kindly explain to me the reasoning behind people playing the game, not enjoying it, and still continuing to play. How would a "ladder system" with no ranks, leagues, points or anything else be any different than an actual ladder WITH those things? ahhhhhhhhh im gunna explode lol...it just doesnt make sense!!! WHy are people so scared of playing?!?! lol

It is getting ridiculous. So what do you want? You want a way for people to automatically become your friend? Ooorrr....a thing that automatically puts you into 10 chat channels when you log on? Ooorrr...what? I have no clue what you are actually asking for. I can tell you where to find a clan: you go to the TL search bar and type in "clan recruitment" and it will take you to the thread. It has a bunch of clans listed in it, along with the leader's name and character code. You can add them in-game, and message them when they are on. Sometimes they will list their clan chat channel too. I also dont understand what you want from custom maps. I mean, you can go to 'join a game' and double click on any of the custom games, and they start once the player list fills. I used to play desert strike a lot, you shold try that one. As for custom games playing the actual game, you kind of need friends or contacts for that, and that isnt something blizzard can just hand to you lol. You have to talk to people that you play against. Just message them after the game and say "hey that was a gg, would you like to play another one with me for fun?" And that is litterally all it takes. I dont see any difficulty in doing this. If there are any other things you would like me to tell you how to do to make the game more enjoyable, please ask lol.

It would be way better than just laddering.
