I find myself rooting for Gatored out of "nostalgia" too, lol. Me too. Gatored has taken down so many top Koreans and really deserves much more attention. He's not going. Oh, no, come on, one of few American players I'm really interested in and he can't come? T.T That's so unfortunate, I'd love to see him play again! He's done playing seriously, went back to school. I thought he'd go anyway, give it a try, I mean, it could have been a fun trip. Who's gonna pay for someone who doesn't play anymore?

Does anyone know what time these events run? I can't find anything on the ESL or Liquidpedia sites about time frames on the days

Well usually it is from 10am to 6 pm local time (CET). I think that has always been the schedule for ESL events at trade shows. I guess it will be similar this time as well. And IEM are always broadcasting a rerun, I am sure they'll stick with that.
P.S.: Maybe that could be added to the op? Website to order the HD Pass (5€ for the whole event)
P.S.2: I still got 4 Tickets for the cebit to give away for free (the actual event, not the stream). PM with your E-Mail and Full Name will do the trick ;-)

This. Group C simply has no pushovers.
Edited cause I confused the 2 Killers.

My 4 tickets are gone now!
But ESL is giving away free tickets for all international visitors.

Any info on the times the matches/tournament are taking place?. And the prices? Do you have to pay full CeBit entrance to watch the tourney or is it separate like some other events.
Im planning to go with a friend, me going from Marburg, and he from Köln. The problem is that hostels are all full and Im trying to find a place near Hannover and from 8-9pm onwards, transportation is really shitty around the area.
ps: why extend the tourney so much, 5 days for a 24 player tourney? I know people who are not going just because they dont want to travel 4-5 hours for 2 matches on friday, or 1 on saturday :/

looks like 9am to ~6pm (last game should start at 5) for the group stages on day 1 and 2: http://www.esl-world.net/masters/season6/hanover/sc2/groupstage/results playoffs, no idea. but i agree - always hated the IEM schedules, will again for sure NOT go, just cuz its so ridiculous. sooooo many games on day 1 and 2, and since its the finals and we got some pretty amazing players here, we're probably gonna miss a lot of great games. instead we will almost see no games at all on the next 3 days
prices: not announced yet afaik
quite sure that ull have to pay full cebit entrance, but at least this info might be somewhere on the iem page^^
ps: mana (sadly) isnt German @ http://www.teamliquid.net/iem/ pps: 'tournament system' desciption on the official iem page isnt correct for sc2.

D > A > B > C
It'll be a crazy Tournament.. <3
|
Voted D, but it's not as massively stacked as people are making out.
Idra's been in a long slump lately, arguably as has Supernova. I can see clear winners in the other groups.

Group A: viOLet MMA JYP -easy for them
Group B MC Nerchio HasuObs -Sound played really bad at HSC4 and i dont know how i got so far.
Group C PuMa DIMAGA MaNa -FD and Zenio are inconsistent but can take 2/3 spot also. Hardest group to predict.
Group D DongRaeGu SuperNoVa Kas\Real -nc
And MC will take whole tournament. Dongraegu/MMA will take 2nd/3rd place. You dont't even mention Ret in your group B prediction, and he is a world class player. I think he should definitely be favored to come out of his group over HasuObs, and Nerchio is fairly unproven in LANs compared to Ret's results.

Dimaga and his zvp.. it will be hard, but gogo Dima/Nerchio

There are lot of ways to get a free cebit ticket. Just google for free Cebit ticket or look here: http://www.esl-world.net/masters/season6/travel

Only 6 days left :D so exited for this!

Groups are so ridiculously stacked that I cannot predict at all who is going to win..

The problem with IEM is that their events are often at conventions, such as now at CEBIT. This means that the games are all during the day (EU time) on workdays, which makes it hard for working Europeans to watch. For Americans the games will start in the night and end halfway through the workday, which is even less practical.

while the koreans will dominate in groups A, C and D, i think, that group B is the group of death because all of these players are at about the same level and anyone could advance.

This is so stacked. I'll definitely watch this one :O if ur able to drive to cologne and watch it live! If i got the time ill attend for sure as far as i couldnt go to gamescon last year=( Please don't drive to Cologne. The championships are in Hannover. And Gamescom is in August. You'll be cold, bored and lonely if you come here during the championships.
woopsie daisy messed it up a little but anyways go there !
