I think a line definately needs to be drawn, and there are plenty of events that should not be listed on the calendar entries. Saying that, I think TL is great as a information resource, and for me it's a primary driver to your site. Id agree that I love having all the links able to be embedded etc, and you do have a high quality standard at the moment, but there should be exceptions for premium events. This would include people such as GOM, Dreamhack, IPL, MLG, etc. For these events, considering their rarity I think the information given is more of a positive to your users even if it is purely advertising. I don't want big splash screen ads on TL telling me different things, but I probably would appreciate a one line link on the side of the page with all the other events so I can still use TL as my ONLY information resource.

During the time that it was up, however, there remained an accessible free stream option. Sorry, to clarify, my opinion on GSL being de facto PPV for me (and wishful hoping that they'll provide a time-limited VOD) has nothing to do with the calendar listing issue, which is why I said it was a slight tangent. :-)

In other words, their objection may simply be to the perception that they now had to pay for something that they previously got for free, from a certain point of view. If that foundation to their stance no longer applied, they may reconsider? Isn't it ironic? They are charging for their streams, which people are having to pay for that they previously got for free, but still expect to get free advertising from TL because that's what they got in the past. A bit of a double-standard if you ask me. I'm glad TL took this stance.

I don't see how this deserved a ban, and i don't see why you should laugh or brag about having banned someone

It technically is a free stream and could be considered similar to something like SOTG, or GSL's off the record. Also, Specifically the second part. Can't that be on TL's calendar? We decided that just listing the first match really isn't going to work, it's confusing and inconsistent to list the first 5% of an event. While we don't want to go judge what percentage of an event needs to be free to qualify as a "free stream," I think everyone would agree that 1 match per day is far below that line. The event is either free or its not, we're not going to pick and choose which parts to list.

A Calendar Entry, but a link to the LIVE REPORT THREAD. Totally informational, totally useful, not exactly advertising. I think that would be good to keep in line with TL's principles and rules, but appease those that want a softer stance on the issue (or just want a universal calendar for free, lols).

Nitpick: The Dr Pepper MLG Ultimate Access stream will be completely free all weekend. The first match aired on each of the four other streams, on both Friday and Saturday, will also be free to everyone. It's free to an extent.

Edit (re: the post below me): Have read ::coughskimmedcough:: the rules, but missed that one. Pretty amusing.

Saying "I'm guessing i'll be banned" gets you banned every time... regardless of the content of the rest of your post.
