Alex is verbose, and you owe it to yourself (and the rest of us) to read the statement in its entirety. Remember, when making comments/claims to provide proper evidence, facts etc. Arguments based on incorrect assumptions, facts and straw men, will be dealt with swiftly. If in doubt, PM a mod or ask IRC. Do NOT spread misinformation, when in doubt, check your sources. In short, be smart. One thing people should take from this is.. if you put it on the internet.. it is public and you will most likely be judged on it at some point... we all need to think before we type. The world has become much more transparent and people will be held accountable for their actions.

Maybe people will finally learn that the internet is not the excuse to be a douchebag, even tho you're safely at home behind your screen. Sometimes being a douche will have consquences. After today i bet a lot of would-be pro's are watching their language a bit more.. Replays are saved, vods are made. If you get attention on the internet, you better handle it properly or it will forever stick. The fact that up and coming pro's will watch their language a bit more is probably the best possible outcome of the entire incident.

I was really disappointed today by people like djWheat posting statements that made the community look like wild savages. Reactions like that make us weak. Dealing with problems and discussing them makes us strong. Posting blatant hate and insults to orb was a disgrace . Those people were worse than him. Calling him out on what he did is fine, but going below that level and being aggressive, degrading and rude isn't. I am glad orb faced ramifications. I am also sure he will come back! Edit: You might want to talk to some of your players and the communication they share publicly with an EG logo on their streams.

That being said, he is a young man, who made a mistake (or several mistakes in a chain and acted extremely immature). While he should be punished, I think that a complete dismissal is way over punishment. It feels to me as though EG and their sponsors gave in to a mob mentality here - and should be careful to allow others so much power over their decision making process. While racism is not to be tolerated, I would think that Orb would be warned that his actions are not to be tolerated, told if he did it again he would be fired, and suspended for part of the season or something else. I guess I am more forgiving then most, but we all make mistakes, and typically are given chances to move past them. Even Michael Vick has been given a second chance after being convicted of dogfighting and torturing and killing dogs. After going to jail and losing millions of dollars. While I think this is harsh, with how the community reacted, EG's hands were tied.

This entire thing is blown out of proportion and it's SO ironic that it's EG firing someone from being BM on ladder.

Why isn't the same standard applied to players? I've seen Huk write similar things repeated on stream while laddering on KR. I think he is just trying to distract his opponents (which is weird since I think some of them don't really get what he's saying). Like that matters though.

Orb destroyed Orb's career, Katu destroyed Katu's career. If this wasn't the case, there would be nothing incriminating to pursue. Yes, Reddit snowballed the issue, but it started with the individuals at fault.

I do feel bad for Orb despite everything. I wish this community could transfer this passion they showed today away from drama. Seems like every week a team is apologizing for something and that's a bad thing.

They've been my favourite team, I've got an EG mousepad, and one of the Hoodies and generally watch a lot of the team in general. That certainly ends today. This type of caving in to pressure by a loud, vicious minority of people who were hunting, not out of genuine offense, but to cause drama is an incredible display of horrible judgement and a complete lack of loyalty. I could give two shits about orb...and to be honest, no one could. Nobody REALLY cares about it. It's just something to talk about between events. Totally selling out an employee to save your own ass, especially while completely tolerating IdrA's...existence, and inviting Destiny onto EG sponsors and produced shows is so hypocritical as to be laughable. I don't believe a single damn word Alex Garfield said, and his fake offendedness over this word is so ridiculous it's not worthy of any respect. It's the worst type of fake, two-faced holier-than-thou bullshit you can get. Shove your sanctimonious bullshit and hypocritical policy and fuck off. Or to quote your Own popular Team Member IdrA: "This Game is Retarded" and "The Game is worse because of Fags like you" Can I have your mouse pad?

I think letting Orb go was the wrong decision, and despite agreeing on many points with Alex, I think that they're taking a relatively trivial issue too seriously because of the community's apparent outrage.

Well written OP, thanks for your honesty. Regardless of peoples personal feelings on the matter, this should serve as a template of how professional organisations react to events like these.
