Gratz to @EGiNcontroL for getting a casting gig at gom ! Finally taking the next natural step in his promising casting career! Gl hf Geoff
Personally, I find this amazing! I hope Geoff will be able to help liven up GOM, and make code A amazing! He's done amazing things for the community, and I'm glad that this chance has arisen for him. Hopefully he'll still be able to do SOTG, ITG, EGMC.

Lol I thought it was a joke. Naniwa said before that he considers iNcontroL more of a caster than a player...leads me to believe he is joking this time as well.
Incontrol is a good caster, that's a nice decision from both GOM and him. I hope it will mean less Moletrap+Khalor pairing, or less Moletrap altogether.
Don't go Geoff! I want to be able to root for you in tournaments! I want to see you beat nerds then eat them whole! DON'T ABANDON US FOR CASTING WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of these days, Naniwa is going to troll us via twitter for incredible hilarity. Until that time, thanks for the info and gratz to Incontrol! I am a huge fan of his casting and rank him among the top casters in the world with people like Tastosis and TB, due to game knowledge and hilarity.
when i saw the post i thought he was shittalking. looking at the part "Finally taking the next natural step in his promising casting career! " i smell sarcasm.
If you guys remember, when Idra was going to Korea there was talk about InControl wanting to go there and that they will send him there at some point so even more credible.

Well it's both. It's a bit of mocking but it's also true.
Last time Nani made a similar twitter post, SirScoots got butthurt and widely announced that he blocked him on twitter.
Is NaNiwa trolling or is this real? I mean, the caliber of casters at GOM has been up and down so they'd be lucky to have him. But some of his gaming decisions seemed focused around being competitive again.

This is real according to ITG today. Incontrol stated that Gom had contacted him back about casting at GOM for the month he is staying there. I think he still working out the nitty gritty and finalizing but it looks like he is going to do it. Should be interesting - I'll like having four code A casters for a while =)

Just get rid of moletrap altogether. Incontrol is miles better than him, a much better sense of humor, has greater in game knowledge/experience. But even then, I doubt this is real unless Geoff himself confirms it, did he on SotG? I didn't watch it today.

Pretty sure he's going to Korea to train, it's not like his casting job will take all his time.
Good news. In all honesty, Incontrol should just retire as a player. He does the community and his brand a disservice by not commentating or being a figure head full time. He is MUCH better caster then player and would do better for himself if he stopped playing.
Edit: LOL, I didn't know the source was Naniwa's twitter account. I was about to delete my post. It seems genuine though.

it's actually the other way around... he's going to korea to specifically cast for GOM. Practice when he isn't casting.

I think hes just calling iNcontrol bad
Nani and Incontrol are friends, like a lot of SC2 players. They like to joke around.
Assuming this is true I think it is SO amazing. He is one of my favorite people to listen to in this game. I'll stay up a couple of times to watch his GSL games if so
I hope to hell it is InconWolf casting together... although thats a terrible caster nickname...

Mr. Chae loves Moletrap, at the end of the day he fills in some of Wolf's gaps and as a short not very good looking white guy it's just different in Korea.

I don't want him to quit. I was a fan of the Red Soxs and Patriots back when they would have LOVED to have Geoff's win record. Fans like that do not give up easily. I refuse to give up on the dream of seeing him win MLG or another tournament. What would happen if he won an MLG? I want to see that crowd.
Reminds me of that huge ex American Wrestler who hosts that Taiwanese late night talk show... He's like roughly 4x larger by mass than any Chinese he has on his show...
This is great! As much as I want iNcontroL to succeed as a player, he is one of my favorite casters. If playing doesn't work out for him I really hope he sticks with this. Code A needs someone like him. Would love to see some Kaldor and iNcontroL action!
Incontrol would be a very good caster. He has the charisma, personality, and he is a pro player who has strong analysis of Protoss in particular. Maybe he can get some serious training in Korea as well.
hrm, not bad not bad, grats to geoff if this is for real, but what of anna? will she stay at the eg house and hold down the fort? or is she heading over there for a month long vacay =P
Hmm, not really looking forward to this if it happens. Maybe it would work if incontrol had some jokes that didn't involve making fun of people's accents. It gets so old.
Geoff will obviously still play a ton and spend his time living in the Slayers house. Much like Idra never hid the fact that you can and should travel to korea for training purposes only given the right schedule. I can't understand people saying every visit to KR should always be to win GSL. If he finds time to spend a much longer time in KR at some other point in the future to seriously prepare and try to compete in GSL I think he will certainly do so.
In the meantime, there is absolutely no harm to pick up a casting gig while you are there anyway.
Just before the MCSL on one more game stream, Incontrol announced that he is entertaining the idea of a casting spree at the GOM house while simultaneously doing some korean laddering and such. NaNi most likely got this info from Inctontrol saying it himself on the OMG stream
As for NaNiWars somewhat trolly comment, nobody can argue that incontrol does a pretty good job casting. If that was a troll comment, I have NEVER in my days seen a better disguised one. Props to all parties.
If he still wants to be a player (he didnt do that bad in Lone Star Clash) I would argue that his stint as a caster (if Nani is actually serious) to legitimize a stay in Korea to do some korean ladder. EG probably did not want to send him just to send him, so this kind of makes sense if he wants to practice in korea.
Then again, he is getting married, maybe this is a path he wants to take for awhile.
iNcontrol has been hinting about doing a big casting gig for some time now, especially if you've been listening to him on State of the Game. This stuff has been hinted at for a while, with the hints gradually becoming more solidified as time went on. I wouldn't be surprised if Naniwa's tweet actually had some truth to it.
In the end, I would love to hear a semi-fresh voice in the GSL, since iNcontrol would be a great addition to GSL's caster rotation.
Nice! Congrats to Geoff on both the trip to Korea and the gig. It is fun to listen to him casting and I have been missing his humorous casts since NASL season 1!

I definitely wasn't watching Code A. It's kinda sad too. The match-ups were usually sick, but the casting is complete shit. Maybe I feel that way because they go up against Tastosis, but I honestly can't stand it.

I had to watch it on mute, the casting was pretty bad. And to be clear, I will listen to any casting pair with the exception of the Code A casters. Any casting pair.
Incontrol casting the GSL would be nice, but does this mean he would stop focusing on being a player? From what I understand its really difficult to do both and I would be disappointed if he stopped player competitively.

That's why we have the mute button bud. You think I want to hear half the shit Dan and Nick rant about? No, but that doesn't stop me from watching. Probably because I actually have a good idea of what's happening so I don't need someone else to spell it out for me.

Casting in GSL would also mean being in Korea, playing on the tough KR server and possibly training in one of the Korean training houses, which is pretty good training. I doubt iNcontrol is going to make a full switch to being a caster, since he has been a pretty decent caster before despite still putting in a lot of time training to be a player. I doubt casting GSL would detract from his training.
Whats with all the people calling troll and doubting it?
Think about it.. GOM knows of Incontrol's popularity.. InControl would bring them a lot more viewers buying online tickets to watch the streams and such, and just bring them more revenue due to his popularity. So why wouldn't they try and get him casting for them?

If GSL pays him good money on top of the salary EG gives, then it would be easy for him to be comfortable.
Hmm, I think Wolf is the best code A caster for sure and I don't really see either him or Khaldor with Inc working better than Kholf... Even if this is just a troll post by Nani or an actual thing, I think it's only time before he takes up casting/community work full time instead.

For example... the Slayers house?
I don't get why there has to be such a big myth to the topic. Incontrol obviously wants to spend time and train in KR. They have a partnership with one of the teams. Why not accept additional income when you're there..

Oh wait, we aren't.
If sports commentators would say things like "Foot Y is better than foot X" or "This player is from another dimension etc. etc." every single game we would I always watch sports with commentators on the radio instead of those on TV if they are super-repetitive and can't find a good way to fill up the dull moments of a game.

Not boring for me. Worst case scenario pump up whatever music you like listening to or try the Korean commentary. I guess I'm fortunate that I have a decent idea of what's happening. :/
I watch a lot of streams muted all the time, so it's just natural for me.
great choice and it's about time. i feel incontrol has a far greater potential for casting in his ability to voice his opinion than he ever had in being a professional gamer. he definitly has a personality that's far more intriguing and humorous than the current gsl casters mole trap, kahldor etc.

Looking forward to it....Incontrol is a funny guy and is by far the most entertaining caster/player out there.......he will definitely keep me awake.....thats the direct opposite of the current b-casting team at gom.....
i think he will do well as a caster and he should look into doing it on a full time basis. his pro career is on the downturn but alot of people enjoy his commentating on his stream and such so i dont see why he couldnt become another day 9 type person who casts and does other community related things.

Anyway, I hope you can make this happen, I love your casting, and training in Korea is obviously going to help you a bunch. GL!

That all being said me going to korea for this extensive of a trip remains unconfirmed and just in the planning stages. It's been in the works for months now so I hope it does pan out but there are a lot of factors that could stop it from happening.
If I do go it will be mid April to mid May.
To those that are excited: thank you! This is my trip to mecca and if I can make it more worth my while to further my brand and do some casting for GSL, great! If this doesn't happen now it will some day soon.. thank you all <3
This is awesome to hear. Best of luck! Eager to hear back on working out the details.
It's weird... today I was randomly considering resubscribing to GSL soon for the first time in many months... hmmm!
Incontrol is a great caster. His knowledge isn't the most in-depth, but he is always a joy to listen to. He'll hopefully bring a whole new set of jokes and memes to GOM, since Wolf and Moletrap just borrow from Tastosis alot.
I'm very excited that he's going to be commentating in Korea! He's a natural at it so I'm sure he'll do great. My fear is that his time spent on actual practice will be diminished being a caster for GOM. To further that fear I sincerely hope this isn't paving the way for him becoming a full time caster instead of player. Completely unfounded sentiments I know but I'd still be sad.

The plan as of now is to cast Code A for 1 month. They want me to cast solo and at the GOM studio. I also will be doing their show for a few episodes. In that month I will be playing on the KR server 10 hours a day (the casting gig is not that extensive) and I will be staying with Artosis (this is one of the parts that needs confirming) where I will work on the mental aspect of my game on a daily basis with one of the best minds in the business. This is great news, to have the opportunity to practice non-stop in Korea and be casting for the GSL!
Good luck out there, Geoff Keep improving and kicking ass ^^
oh god yes, oh please god yes let them replace moletrap or wolf (hopefully moletrap) with Incontrol so that I once again can view Coda A with sound :p.
Seriously though while Incontrol not being the player he perhaps once was he is definatly a good entertaining caster and in our current world with so many utterly overrated casters its a blessing from GOM that he is going there. Now if they could just grab mrbitter aswell I would be so happy.
Or why not QXC. He did an awsome job casting the few games he did. Im actually very baffled by the fact that moletrap and wolf are still casting (Khaldor is awsome) since ive never seen a positive comment about them on GOM.
You would do a fantastic job for code A. i hope you take some time out of your training to prepare for casts instead, but as a player myself i understand the desire to improve completely
Incontrol is a solid caster, but I feel like he doesn't have the necessary interest in the Korean scene to yield maximum casting potential - especially as a solo caster. I'm interested as always to see how he benefits from the Korean practice!
I'd be great to see Incontrol casting GSL I think that he would be a great addition to the team. Still love to watch him play no matter what other people say!
On March 21 2012 14:23 Eschaton wrote: Glad to see inControl taking his casting to the next level, knew he would eventually.
good luck!
I think he wants to train in Korea, casting is just a byproduct of going to Korea so he's not necessarily taking his casting to next level because this suggests that he's trying to transition out of being a player into a caster.
On March 21 2012 14:14 Clefairy wrote: Hopefully this means Wolf will finally have a partner that doesn't drag him down.
khalador? doa? either of those did fairly well and are good casters
Wolf + Doa was a good combo, but with him casting for IPL now there are only the iffy options of Khaldor or Moletrap. I really, really hope that Geoff doesn't get stuck solo-casting all the time and that they let him do some casts with Wolf.
I really hope he does it, would be good for everyone involved. His play needs help and he'll improve in Korea, and he's a much better caster than all their Code A guys atm. Excited personally.

Dibs.
Is that what you were wondering? He'll only be gone for a month. It's never fun to be away from your significant other for that long, but they'll survive.
makes sense. just like artosis he is a couple of rungs below a competitive player these days and as better players continue to emerge he is going to continue to fall behind. So this is a great way to leverage his insight and charisma.
As long as this doesn't take away from your play time, I'm a happy camper. I love your play (your game against Stephano today on Tal'Darim was so damn close...you were so far ahead for a long time and had a great chance at winning) and your stream would be missed. Add on the pretty remarkable things you've accomplished lately (said game against Stephano, beating Thorzain a while back, being the only Protoss to beat Sleep at LSC) and I feel slowing down on your practice would be slamming on the brakes just after having picked up steam.
You're great at analysis and you have a charisma that is sorely lacking from many of the players in the game right now (player interviews have been brought up before). Good for you, Geoff. Do it big.
Geoff I know you will make the right decision and will not regret it. If you feel that you are needed most at the EG Lair/Anna then stay. I think this is a wonderful opportunity for you to go to Korea and DO MORE than just practice with your teammates. Being able to play on the korean server with better ping ALONG WITH HuK, Puma, JYP, and SlayerS has got to be a dream. Perhaps getting advice/coaching from players such as BoxeR and Cella too?
Seems to me like the casting gig is kind of an extra part of the visit. I assume he is mainly going because of the incredible practice he is going to be able to get there. Either way, it's going to be awesome :D
I think the best caster from EG is IdrA, but if incontrol casts, that's better. He has a vast knowledge of the game, except artosis is better. mech vs protoss... take that incontrol
OMG. Really glad. If Incontrol really comes over I'll watch Code A again. Just like Artosis he is a top player and top players make greatest commentators. Too bad so few of them (top players) also have the talent of speaking and explaining. So excited if this deal go through.
On March 21 2012 12:05 Tear388 wrote: OMG NOW I CAN START WATCHING GSL AGAIN! - Sorry for screaming. Too much excitement.
Ever seen Wolf cast? He's better than artosis.
Although Wolf is very good, I consider Artosis as the best caster. It's all personal preference though! I hope I can meet iNc sometime while I'm here since he seems like a cool guy and I have watching his shit since I started playing BW.
Don't know what to say. Good luck to inc but it's a huge investment in himself. I for one think that you should go to korea when you already own your own ladder, like stephano or many others.
I've wished so long that Geoff would've get better, not saying that he sucks since he's still top tier player but not in the best shape in the game. Atleast Geoff's casting and analyzing is awesome and I am really exited over this!
My only problem is him casting solo. Nothing against Geoff, but I feel like he tends to be extremely biased, almost as much as MrBitter(nothing against MrBitter either). If he had another caster with him, we'd actually hear ideas, jokes, anecdotes, and other stuff that makes commentators enjoyable from more than one person. Khaldor is a little biased towards zerg, but generally seems fairly neutral. But Wolf would probably be better. Yes, he is also a Protoss player, but (imo) he's one of the best at hiding any sort of bias. Either way, glhf Geoff.
Moletrap is going to be working for the OGN LoL Proleague that is starting tonight as the English casting duo with Torch. Which means that Moletrap might be done with GOM or not. It could just be a side job that Chae is cool allowing him to take alongside his Code A duties like Tastosis at MLG, etc.
This could mean we'll be getting Khaldor/Wolf and then Solocontrol for Code A. Who knows.

What this REALLY means is that OGN is poaching GOM's casters to prepare for English streaming of OGN SC2 Proleague. I wonder which other GOM casters they've approached with offers.
He's so much better than he used to be, I remember when he first started out I thought he was awful. Or maybe him and Gretorp just didn't fit that well together. Regardless, I enjoy him casting now. Only part I don't like is when the games are over, he'll say (as does tasteless), "I don't know what to tell you guys, this is over, I could try to make it sound exciting but it's not, we're just waiting for the GG."
Yeah, I know it, you know it, and I'd rather actually have you take that mentality than the "ohhhh can he come back?!" when it clearly won't happen. It's just something about saying it explicitly, specifically "I could try to make it sound exciting..." etc. At the end of a hockey game or basketball game, the commentators don't say "well, I could try to make it sound exciting, but team A has clearly won, we just have to wait for the time to run out..." Maybe instead just go with the "pulling his last forces together for a last ditch attack, there's absolutely no way this will work, the other player has three times their supply" etc. You can be honest, but to say you're not even going to try to be excited/entertained bothers me...
One thing is certain, it will be f'ckin' strange to see him at the ever cast without the "I would like to thank steelseries, kingston hyper x etc." closing speech.
Good luck Incontrol!!! Especially being to train like that is awesome so I hope you make it and we can see you cast the GSL and kick ass in-game as well!
Gratz to Incontrol, i think this would be a great experience for him, he is very articulate and has a nice sense of humour this combined with his in game knowledge should make the casts really interesting

Great stuff! Congrats to Geoff - sounds like he'll have a blast out there; awesome training partners and a cool casting gig. I shall definitely be purchasing a GOM ticket - love his casting style and gymnastic sense of humour. Seems like ideal timing too - if you've been watching him play recently, you'll surely agree that he's been training hard and improving his game. Win all round.

2 and a half men except instead of a boy it's artosis's daughter. I guess Geoff can be Charlie Sheen?
Congrats and good luck InControl. It's sad to see so many people hate on undoubtedly one of the hardest working professionals in the business right now. Keep working hard man.
So we "loose" Moletrap to OGN LoL and we get incontrol in return? Awesome. Also please don't just do solo, I'd love to see you cast with wolf or khaldor.
Also really happy, korea is still the place you wanna practice, and hearing you going there for a month makes me really happy for you, hope you can go asap and have a good time
Code A will be sooo much better to watch with Incontrol casting. Working on his game on KR ladder+possibly staying with Artosis sounds really cool too. Pretty exciting stuff

omg yes get doa/wolf/moletrap/khaldor out of there about time we'll have a code A caster that actually knows the game. Even as a diamond player, there are so many times when they commentators say things that are just.......wrong

Wolf and khaldor know what they're talking about man, I have to disagree with you there. Moletrap though, moletrap could use a little work
Personally I would love to see this so much! I love iNcontroL as a player and a caster and for him to solo cast GOM would be what I think to be benefical to all of us viewers and himself! :D

What´s left there to suffer?? I hope he take the casting route and stop playing because if we are all honest to our selfs he´s about 5 times better in casting than playing and i not want to hate on his play but it is a simple fact. When he did commentating for NASL in the first season every god dam episode had atleast 10k viewers and now where Gretorp does it on his own they have like 3k viewers every time. I hope he does the right decission and thinks about a casting carrer.
I don't know why iNcontroL gets so much shit from a large part of the community. Too many people quite literally hate him, and there's no reason for it. He's consistently a well mannered guy and never feeds anybody bullshit (i.e. trolling) unless the purely comedic value is at it's most obvious and necessary.
I don't really like his casting, and i heard this like 2 months ago. I cant imagine the thought of Incontrol/Khaldor casting code A, my ears would explode. IMO wolf and (i hate to say it) moletrap should be the only code A/ GSTL casters.
As for iNcontroL, if you find the perfect mix of humour and good casting as you did sometimes at NASL, this could be good. Too bad about solo-casting though, I'd root for you and Wolf!

Wolf was a former pro gamer himself.. Khaldor and moletrap seem about on par with eachothers knowledge when i watch them cast.

I don't think it's as bad as it used to be. He got a lot of hate before when he was in the process of growing up and trying to be a more responsible community member. People would bring up things he did in the past and call him a hypocrite, etc. Shit gets upvoted on reddit, here we go. Then there was MLG and the championship bracket which he stayed in forever, not really performing great and this for some reason made him a target for a lot of frustration. Frustration perhaps more suitably directed at MLG, or no one in particular.
Now he probably just receives a regular dose of hate. Remember that there's not a single community member that isn't vehemently hated by someone.

People don't like it when they see that someone has a good life that they want, a good looking wife/fiancee that they want, a sense of humor that they want, and a whole pile of fans that they want. I tend to think it is the sad pathetic kiddy jealousy kicking in.

Glad this turned out to be true. NaNiwa isn't the only one with that opinion. I have far greater satisfaction watching InControl cast games than observing him playing them. I'm an optimist; I hope to see InControl rise to the top of foreign protoss players sometime in the future. He remains on a team that keeps their players in for the long haul and invests money in the development of their players.

Sheth got a lot of shit/hate when he left Korea.
White ra?
Check any stream chat whenever White-Ra speaks English.
Keep testing me!
uhh what? People hate on him when he speaks english? I havn't seen that
They do. Although I guess stream chats shouldn't count since they are portals leading into the abyss.
People who hate on White-Ra are same kind of people that would gladly kick puppies and drink the blood of 9yo schoolgirls.
And how funny it is to read the first pages now. People are really bad at creating a whole novel of drama from one sentence, that was only 100% correct and manner.Feels like being back in High School and listening to the girls gossip in class.

This could mean we'll be getting Khaldor/Wolf and then Solocontrol for Code A. Who knows.
Oh, wow. OGN going all in with english casters from the start. Was interested in watching this beacuse of all the hype LoL has gotten in Korea. It is even a featured stream I see.
It is truly a good idea, Incontrol will get some exposure as a caster and he will be able to train on the korean server. Also, what's the problem between aniwa and Incontrol? Naniwa is always so dickish when he tweets about him.

Let me start by saying I am a player first, still. Yep, you can think what you want of that and call me bad or whatever but fortunately for me I am in a position where people still want me to play and I am one of those people. So I will.
I also love casting. Public speaking is one of my true passions. I gave speeches from early elementary all the way up until college where I competed in debate. It's a part of me I value very much. If I can find an excuse to yet again meld one of my passions with SC2 I will do that.
I have connections with the SLayers house and the EG korea squad (JYP, Puma, Huk etc).
If I were to take this job it would put stress on my team as I wouldn't be able to cast EGMCS or do some of my other duties here in the Lair.
If this doesn't happen now it will some day soon.. thank you all <3
Always nice to get new people casting for the GSL. Have only heard you cast once before and didn't like it very much but I were in a very bad mood that day so I'm actually excited to hear you cast again to re-evaluate my opinion
Also to the people saying you're bad, they don't know what they're talking about! Just because you ain't top15 doesn't mean you're bad.
I cant believe that gom would bring on a guy with his image, of being a huge asshole troll, who (mostly before sc2 was released) trolled everybody, calling people fags and shit, and in general just acting like a huge deuce. And he got away with it on TL, because he was "known" in the community, and had over 10k posts. This is gonna hurt gom's image of being nice and manner, what are they thinking!?
Wow, this would be so cool, best of luck Geoff, i did really appreciate your casting for NASL and HSC4, really would like to see you casting GSL aswell!
I don't imagine the casting offer from GSL could have been that enticing to a pro player but it looks like Geoff is making the most of a limited opportunity. It also must of been a hard decision to leave his Fiancee, family and dog behind for a month to be able to train in Korea. It just goes to show his level of commitment and dedication to improving as a player and I wish him all the success
P.S. I'm also psyched about getting to see Geoff casting code A

If we don't give people a chance to change when they are trying to do so aren't we just as bad or worse than them? How long should past actions and mistakes haunt the present and future? I'm not saying you should forget those things but to give him a chance to show he's not like that anymore. If he blows that chance then too bad for him but don't judge people to harshly on past actions alone.

InControl is a great caster and an even better entertainer. Good move from GOM. Hopefully it will be a good move for InControl as well, and that he like many before him can up his game with korean practise. Because no matter how much I like his casting, he is first and foremost a player, and should remain that for many years to come.
InControl to win MLG Spring Championship after returning from Korea - You heard it here first!

Are you really complaining that a famous person is getting special treatment on TL? Every pro and established veteran gets special treatment on TL. They should.
This is the BEST THING EVER. It mean InControl gets better practice, we get an AMAZING Code A caster (the games are already amazing, but Wolf can only do so much by himself as the only good Code A caster) and we will get a lot of insight on games from a current pro (say what you will of InControl, he's not amongst the best, but he's still bloody good at Starcraft).

I very much think Geoff's future in esports is in casting rather than playing - aside from his run of lacklustre results, he's a great on screen personality, well articulated and understands the game (and being from EG the current metagame). Definitely the right person for the job, well done :D
Incontrol is an awesome caster. I would prefer his voice/analysis over almost all other minor non-player casters. Him and Idra really should team up.
And I'm excited about the trainning implications of this trip. Because even if he becomes an exceptional caster, Incontrol will always be a great player deep down in my <3

moletrap just annoys me, just my opinion and I don't like him. simple as that.
He's realized that he hasn't improved much if not at all during his time in the house and now will slowly transition to being a mediocre caster. Thats my opinion on this honestly.
I think it's really weird how Tasteless + Artosis are the premier casters, yet they are only used for 1/3 of the tournaments (Code S, G-Finals). Moletrap + Wolf + Khaldor get WAY more air time than them.
Personally Moletrap doesn't cut it for me, hes decent, but the stuff he presumes really pisses me off when it's wrong 1/3 of the time. Hes always saying obvious, or things from left field, I definitely don't learn much with him casting. Wolf is decent too, better IMO, but decent, him and Moletrap are both too monotone
Incontrol would be great, the Code A casting needs some new Life, Khaldor was a great addition, and I'm hoping InControl can sort that stuff out to give it a go, I know a lot of people would be happy to see him there.
Best of luck InControl, hope you can make time to cast the GSL.

Eeeh what? I know that. And that is exactly what I mean. He shouldn't have a secondary focus if he traveled to Korea to play. It should be to play and become better, and nothing else. He shouldn't have a "side thing". The only other thing he should focus on is his fiancée.
I don't hate on him, I'm just explaining why I don't like him as a person (or a pro gamer, rather). If he just showed the right dedication and discipline to focus on only gaming, and not spending time on pleasuring his fans, he could become really god. But that ofcourse also depends on his personal goals. But if they are to become the best, you shouldn't let ANYTHING interfere.
EDIT: Naniwa is a great example of this. But then again, there are other examples like Stephano, who seems so be able to do anything else than gaming, and still have the skills to win against almost everyone.
He showed promise most people would never have expected at the LoneStarClash, if he gets a good SC-workout in Korea I'd be very intrigued to see his playing after a month.

while i really wish incontrol the best of luck with thh casting and training for sc2, i gotta be a little critical.
in my opinion incontrol shines when he casts in a casual way (homestorycup comes to my mind) but i found him a bit boring when he tried to cast super serious (e,g, nasl season 1). guess for gom he needs to find a really good mix of both.

This is pretty awesome news. I'm pretty sure Geoff loves Korea and views it as the Mecca of eSPorts. Who's casting code A now? Has this sort of a been a revolving door kinda job? I remember Wolf, Doa, Moletrap, Milkies etc.
incontrol is such a nice guy ! GOGO ULTRALIIIISK ! hearing him cast ,,, such a pleasure cause of his KNOWLEDGE, you cant buy so many years of pro sc and sc2 career and no caster how good ever he may be can be on that level of explaining (artosis and tastless both good gamers in the past as well as day9 and you FEEL it when you listen)
Super excited for him. Casting aside, if he can find a way to be in Korea for a month for practicing purposes even that would be awesome for him. That's the best place to train and with all the ties EG has with teams there he'll have plenty of top tier players to work with. GL HF!
This is pretty amazing. I would love to see incontrol playing a really high level of starcraft. But I would not mind to see him cast GSL full time, I like the caster incontrol as much as I like the player.
Sorry, I don't even have a GOM ticket. OT, I don't like watching Incontrol cast, always frowning, always looking like terrible terrible things are at hand (cf. SotG), his face all over the camera, it's actually positively annoying me. However, I do appreciate listening to his casts, nice insight, smart overall, OK voice.
Even though this came out as a sort of "joke" post, I must say this guy has an aura.
What I'm really worried about though, is if Artosis can handle all the bullying iNcontroL is gonna put him through again, if they're gonna be staying together. ^.^

Not to bash Wolf or anything, his laugh just pisses me off. inControl > Khaldor > Moletrap > Wolf.
Imo that is. They are all great in their own ways. I'm just so happy to see InControl cast code A.
To each his own. I'm quite certain the majority of people who watch gom hate the Code A casters though, or at the very least do an extremely poor job compared to what Gom could have instead. Incontrol will be a huge upgrade.
I'll always take a caster who knows something about SC2 as opposed to 1 that can do no more then point out the obvious. Good stuff bringing him in, maybe Code A will be watchable now.

I like the code A casters, all of them. They're not my favorite casters but they do a good job I think. Only one I have a slight problem with can be Moletrap sometimes but nothing major.

Yea I agree. I'm not a huge fan of incontrol but at least he plays at a fairly decent level. Code A commentary is at times dire to the point where the commentary adds nothing but colorful, highly repetitive descriptions of what is blatantly obvious. The last code A commentary I remember actually enjoying was Wolf with his DT friends.
Did anyone else read Naniwa's tweet as a dig at incontrol? Seems to me like he's trying to say incontrol should be casting rather than playing. Why else would he use the word "natural"?
Huge congrats to InControl if this goes through. I can look forward to watching Code A again and having a really enjoyable caster to listen to. I do hope that he can further improve his game by going out to Korea too. Good luck and have fun! Congrats again
I would love to see what a month of Korean ladder does for Geoffs play, and the casting would just be that extra added bonus. I hope this pans out for ya.

On his stream Incontrol said that naniwa harassed him so much on twitter that he had to block him.
Oh please oh please oh please. While I certainly wish for incontrol to keep playing professionally I would love if he could have the time and opportunity to cast code A. I think he would work great with khaldor or wolf.
Thats cool for incontrol, but I honestly want to see him as a player still. I still think he can have a break through performance one day where he crushes everyone. + a month in korea + talking to Huk, and JYP could only be good for him.
I don't think Naniwa or anyone else made it really clear that this isn't a perminant casting role yet. He's been givien the opportunity to cast GSL for a month and spend time training there while doing so.
Well, if anything it's a great thing for us. Geoff is hilarious and I think instead of wanting to punch ourselves in the face every time we watch Code A matches, we will be laughing our asses off.
Geoff if you are reading this... your destiny is to be a caster. Your casting is some of the most entertaining and natural of any that I have heard. Your humor is great and your manner of speaking is effortless and comfortable. I go out of my way to watch tournaments where you are casting for the sheer entertainment value. You were born to be behind that casters desk!
Give up this silly playing thing and dedicate your efforts to casting and you could be more popular than Day9!!
Geoff, lots of things for you to consider. GL with your decision/getting things worked out! I do hope to see you casting code A and streaming KR ladder :D
This is awesome. I've been digging GSL's Code A casting crew lately, but it could use another solid member. iNc is knowledgeable as hell and great to listen to.
Congrats on the opportunity iNc! I really hope you make the trip...
I send this news a month ago but super admins locked it then delete it then send me a warning... how nice they are.... double,, triple, quadruple standards...
great news, the code A lineup of casters could use some new blood. I always liked him in nasl, and thought gretorp was at his best when he had incontrol with him. hope to see him doing majority of casting to be honest, hes funny and actually plays the game at a high level.
Have you seen his co-casting with IdrA? SOOO freaking good. They are both articulate and well spoken and were able to give super insightful explanations for EVERYTHING that was going on. They were some of the most engaging games of SC2 I've ever watched.
It would be awesome to have incontrol as a gsl caster, I quite enjoyed his casting for nasl so this might get me to watch some code a when I have the time.
Kind of says a lot about Naniwa that he would go to his twitter to take a sarcastic jab at a major community figure. Really hard to like the guy when you consider his history as well.
I hoe this works out Geoff is a great caster and, in my opinion, one of the few things that makes EG a team worth rooting for. Good luck, I hope we get to see you casting in Korea soon.
I would really like this. Incontrol is consistently hilarious on SOTG and his experience as a mid-tier foreign professional will bring a lot of quality to his casting.
INControl has the articulate manner and is miles ahead when doing speeches, interviews, and overall polished presentation.
On SOTG casts he has made no secret of bias against Terran...but that doesn't mean we'll see that should he take up the casting gig for real. Time will tell. Solo casting is pretty tough stuff...it feels like you're talking to yourself for hours at a time, so you'd need to come prepared with all your own material.

So InControL and Khaldor will hit the gym together?
Fun is always good, and casting at Mecca is good exposure. Looking forward to seeing this unfold. Will be interesting to see Geoff in a suit as per GOM standards of late.
I wasn't much of an Incontrol fan at first, but for quite a while now it seems like he's just been hunkering down and practicing, keeping a bit quiet and working hard, which I respect. If he goes to Korea, best of luck to him, hope it can be a good experience -- he's definitely got a flair for speaking, I'm curious how he'd fit with the current Code A casters, if he does wind up casting Code A much.
Incontrol is definitely not a better player than caster, and he's an outstanding caster and community leader. I just don't know why he won't accept this.
Regardless I'm all for this decision. Its great to see someone taking another step in their careers, and I really do like Incontrol's casting. GL
really hope you decide to go! you improved a lot of a caster and you cast really well now and your game is improving at the same time! hope to see you improve even more in korea
Incontrol needs to stay in the house in america I guess to be the captain and the caster that the team needs. Really sad that he couldn't make it out to Korea again and I hope he is able to do so some day.
Incontrol has always been my favorite pro player as a person and I hope that my bear has a great year in 2012.
Wow, great news if it happens. I hope Incontrol can liven up code A, it might give me an excuse to watch it for once. Also I see this as a huge plus for his gaming career as he will be playing a lot each day with less distractions alongside some of the best SC2 tallent in the world.
Sad news for the fans. Was really looking forward to Incontrol casting for gom and inject some new life into that code A casting team (I personally don't enjoy Wolf, kaldhor, and moletrap as much as I want to).
