This is awesome. Hell ya Jessica. Why not sue him. Its a big sentence more then it warrants. But at the same time. People on the internet need to have some accountability. I don't think he will ever insult people like that again.
Things just got real.

I think you should stop being premature and think out of the box. You can't just tell me I'm wrong because I'm 19 or because I'm from Denmark.

She is an actor, so I guess it's okay to be a drama queen?
From what I understand though, this amounts to some fairly serious harassment, so if the laws in Korea allow for it, she might as well go ahead and sue the guy. The proposed penalty seems a bit harsh though. I don't know.

More power to Jessica to do this. Don't cross her or she will make sure you pay. Most people have the common sense to NOT CARE about internet haters and trolls, and even if you take offense from them (which is dumb) up to seven years in prison? How can anyone feel that random insults on the internet is reason enough to lock someone up for seven years? She is, as she almost always does, overreacting. You understand that she is not deciding the sentence, but courts do that based on the laws created by lawmakers. Complain about South Korea laws that have such high sentences for this. Yes but she knows what might be in store for him and despite this she presses the issue instead of just telling herself "oh well haters gonna hate." And a store owner should let all thieves go that "just stole a candy bar", because jeez it's only one fucking candy bar?
That's a silly argument, it's not the same thing. Random haters on the internet aren't doing any damage by acting childish, you just sigh, ban the guy and move on, thats all there is to it.

Someone has to a take a stand, it might as well be someone particular where it's taken very seriously. There is no reason to take a stand. None. Not a single reason. What happened to "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me?" It is absolutely nonsensical to claim that trolls must inevitably be "purged from existence." If it bothers you, just don't listen to them. Be the bigger man and forget about it. What happened? People realized that that saying is absolute bullshit. Words and verbal harassment can be just as hurtful as physical abuse, and there are a plethora of suicide cases to back that up. inb4 someone claims that i'm arguing jessica is going to kill herself That saying is not bullshit at all. Words can only hurt you if you let them. Suicide cases do not prove that the "sticks and stones" saying is bullshit. It just proves that those people let words hurt them. Nothing else. Oh get off your high horse. The fact of the matter is that people are hurt by these things, and that's all that's necessary to win a lawsuit or have someone issued a restraining order. Just because you don't think they have a good reason to be hurting isn't sufficient because lawsuits are based on damages. I'd also be willing to bet that if you were locked up in prison for a year and constantly berated, it'd "get" to you after awhile. Shit's all relative mate. So because it is a fact that people allow words to drive them to suicide, laws should be made to stop people from saying words? What exactly are you advocating? A restraining order, I could see. Absolutely. In the case of harassment, yes I think a restraining order is fine. However, suing for anything other than a restraining order is nonsense. I am offended by your words, thus you must pay me 500 dollars. Garbage argument. Personally, I do not believe that the rest of us should suffer restrictions on what we can and cannot say just because some people can't handle words. That's nonsense. I will note that this is an American prospective on free speech. This influences my opinions greatly. It's not an American perspective; it's the perspective of an immature child who's never felt any true sense of loss or encountered authentic harassment or abuse. Like it or not, Jessica has been under a microscope ever since she married Boxer, and even then, netizens were delving deep into her personal life (stuff that isn't any of their business) to explain why she wasn't fit for Boxer. She has every reason to be wary of people who repeatedly harass her. Also, yeah, laws should be made to allow people who are being berated by other people for no good reason to pay damages if it can be demonstrated to a court of law that authentic mental and/or physical negative consequences have resulted. If your abnormal pestering of me directly causes me to undergo a nervous breakdown due to, say, stress, then I have every fucking right to sue you for screwing with my life. I'm gonna go out on a limb her and assume you've never taken even an elementary psych course, but I suggest you do so, lest you think that people simply choose to be anxious or offended by things. If that were the case, why in the holy mother of fuck would anyone choose to be in tears because of something? Why not choose to be joyous? Two things: First, I realized from the first sentence of that post that your perspective is garbage and I'm no longer interested in listening to you. Second, I have a masters degree in psychology and I'm working toward my phD. Say goodbye to your limb I guess. I don't believe you. Sorry. Either you're the worst psych to have ever studied or you're lying. Either way, glad to not discuss with you anymore.

I personally don't think it's silly of me to not give in to this kind of behaviour. Additionally, I could say the same to you, that I think you're silly for being willing to sue people for harassing you on the internet, when you could get rid of them in an instant. Why is that wrong of me?
Dear Thief of Women's Underwear,
I don't know why people are eating you alive in here. I think what you are saying is not wrong.
Lots of love, xoxoxoxo

To be honest, Koreans have a different approach to internet. Because Koreans have to use their "citizen id #" online, people treat online interactions just like real interactions in the real world.
As such, if someone was literally coming to the SlayerS house and saying these things to her face, or constantly calling her phone and saying these things, would people be as sympathetic to this guy?
Regardless...
Obviously Jessica is an overreacting and oversensitive person, so the troll on the other side must have known he was playing with fire, so full props to him: he got what he wanted. Congrats to him!
