You don't until you saw IdrA and winning in the same sentence.

However, Squirtle and Parting are right up there with MC's calibur of PvT. Both are fucking beasts and I severely doubt LS has any chance whatsoever of getting out of the group. I really doubt LS is gonna beat Ret as well unless he plays really aggressively early in the game (I'm talking Proxy Rax), but with the Queen buff I doubt that'd work either.

how are illusion sheth lastshadow and ostojiy supposed to win even one game? (sheth might have a chance i guess...) they will get completely destroyed will gain almost nothing from the tournament and the viewers won't get to see the best games possible. I don't understand why the don't invite a few more internationally strong players like kas mana socke hasu nerchio bling or someone else ... while generally a supporter of the idea to get some newcomers into the scene but letting them get destroyed by some of the best koreans is just not the way to do it imo we saw some of illusion's and ostojiy's performances at international tournaments and i think we can say that they were not ready yet they might be very good in their regions but i don't think they are capable of playing on an international stage yet

Doubt he will get facestomped, aswell his tvz is his best matchup while tvt is awesome aggresive aswell. As far as I know they were SlayerSRyung, LiquidZenio and FXOz, losing to MaruPrime and Creator (who is a god damn monster PvT aswell ;p) Ls is apparently GM on korean ladder and he recently released a replaypack where he did beat a fair amount of high level players. even tho I dont know much about him, i give him a chance off getting a few maps and might even able to upset, altho both those 2 protoss players in his group are freaking deadly in PvT give him a break and check his games first before we all start to judge? Ostojiy i sadly dont follow that well so wont say anything about him, but - the chance for an upset is possible. thats all im saying and I like it that they get a chance to play in this tournament, sure they might get crushed, but - if they have a good day and just are able to play at their level - im quite sure Illusion and Sheth can both make it out the group. I do give illusion the most chance and not only because off me being bias. Anyway, cant wait for this tourny! HYPED <3

You can't tease like that! the issue is invite tournaments itself invite only tournaments are like the biggest bullshit in history just look at last mlg spring arena do you think tefel or bly wouldve EVER gotten an invite? yet they qualified and beat players like huk and ret and get the exposure they DESERVE because they EARNED it. i dont want to see the same players again playing all the time in all the tournaments, i want to see the BEST players play in the tournaments because they EARNED their spot through qualifying (aka playing well, not having a reputation). if there would be only invite tournaments the scene would became very stagnant very fast.. This, and the fact that qualifiers are not hard to run, with plattform like regame or playhem out there. In fact, you don't even need to cast all of them or give a shit about it at all, as seen in the IPL events. I think you underestimate difficulty of running proper qualifier. Also note this is first really big tournament Day[9].tv seems to be organizing on their own. I think they have their hands full even without qualifiers. I suppose that if it succeeds they will gain more experience and next tournaments can be probably mixed invite/qualifier tournaments. Note that nearly all tournaments are mixed ones to some degree. And organizations when starting made more invite-heavy tournaments than the the following ones. NASL S1 was completely invite based (except Puma).

Really I thought he was talking about cheaters and TL community not liking LastShadow. InControl himself does not approve of LastShadow's invitation either according to his own comments on the matter. TT1 was too cryptic in his comments. With such vagueness it is hard to tell what he was hinting at... LastShadow will either do well or he won't. Let the games decide whether he was a good invitation or not.

He's obviously a really good foreign player, one of the best foreign players in fact after the big three of Huk, Naniwa and Stephano. But he's not a Code S level player and he's never won a Premier Tournament with Korean's present, he's never even made the final of one. The two times he's made the semi finals was at both Dreamhack's where he was crushed very convincingly by Hero and Polt Now obviously Ret is capable of beating good players (like Mvp and Genius) but his overall record vs top Korean players is the worst of any of the best foreign players and for every tournament where he beats players like Mvp and Genius he'll have two or three tournaments where he gets rolled by them or worse he loses to mid tier foreign players. Ret is a good player, he's not a great player, he hasn't posted any massive results like Huk and Stephano and he's extremely inconsistant.
