What a stupid comment...... sponsor drops oGs....so its Teamliquids fault for buying players? Cmon, your sayin 1-1 = -1

As usual the hypocrisy of some of the sc2 community is hilarious, and some of the trolling by the mods was excellent, but nevertheless it is always sad to see sponsors disappearing and to see teams go. Hopefully all will work out, but ultimately who knows.
|
I'm not sure if it's a wise decision to agree that no team would sign any player from oGs. Obviously, that benefits the team management, but it leaves the players in an unfortunate situation where they have an uncertain future, living arrangement, pay, etc. Trying to coerce the players to stay together in a team that might fail later even if they find a temporary solution isn't fair. The players deserve the right to start negotiating with other teams in order to look out for their own future and well being.

The old days really are gone, not just with bw but with one of the oldest SC2 teams disbanding.
How sad. :[

oGs was the first team I ever really rooted for and loved. I really hope that they can reform. Either way, I will ALWAYS remember them.
Hopefully we can get some SC2 team logos for the bottom right of posts just like the BW ones.

What about ForGG? Where will he go?
|
Really sad to see this even if I guess it was somewhat expected to happen sooner or later with the recent fall offs.. I really hope their new initiative, if it indeed happens, will be successfull.

They had most of the really good player in the early days. Very sad news indeed. GL oGs, thx for training up MC,herO and huk

doesnt need to be a bad thing, new oppertunities may come

LoL is taking over, Blizzard getting into bed with Kespa and HOTS won't stop the decline of SC2. Diablo 3 will totally remove the casual gamer and DOTA 2 will crush this game and take all the competitive gamers. Even Flash, Jaedong, and Bisu cannot save SC2.

|
this is extremely huge deal.... sigh.... LoL will fall sooner or later and this sponsor will regret it. I shall remember this sponsor and never support it in the future until they apologize and start supporting sc again
|
Hmmm, interesting. Very 'core' team to disband I guess. If it's true it's kind of interesting. What will happen to the tl guys? Will they get their own house? Which sounds like the beginning of the end to me haha. Or another partnership? And I'm also very interested to see if any of the bw teams sign a sc2 player. Forgg would be a natural choice i guess.
Not sure this has to be such a bad thing, although i like ogs. Very interesting, guess we just have to wait and see.

Well not only SC2, but RTS games in general are all suffering from a major shift in game sense. Before 2010, WC3, BW and C&C, some of the most prestigious RTS games, were still very famous and have huge fanbases as well as many tournaments. But when MOBA games, in particular Dota, gained more fame, the majority of RTS gamers also shifted to them because it's easier to play, and easier to make money from them. Now SC2 are suffering the same decline while Lol is rising at a very fast pace. If this trend continue, the end of RTS games are near, and I would NEVER want that to happen

I didn't realize eStars Holdings was such a central sponsor. I thought oGs had tons of other sponsors. They had like Razer and MSI, Corsair, and then some local Korean sponsors like Mom's Touch chicken and a online poker site. They were the top 4 in the most well off teams in my impressions.
|
Hope this is untrue! I loved supporting oGsMC and the Tri-Team of oGsSupernova, TOP, and Ensnare making a posse through the early GSL days. End of an era? I hope not.
|
I hope they can work something out together with their remaining sponsors such as TheHandsomeNerd and also with TL. Always a shame to see well-known teams go like that.
|
hmmm it's sad of course but I think the players will be fine soon
