We have THIRTEEN casters, plus Adebisi observing, Clutch hosting, & Hwanni/Smix translating. There is no drama or conspiracy. This is our line up. We have not had the same caster line up from one event to the next...ever. Day9 was not at Providence nor at any arena event this year. Husky has not been at an event in a long time. Change, variety, and schedule juggling is just the nature of this business. There is no reason to have an uproar over this. I understand if you like *insert caster here* and would like to see him/her cast, but please stop with the drama.
To add to the conspiracy, Adam tweeted this tonight. Don't see anything that would trigger this today beside people complaining about no day9 for anaheim. With the day9 haters calling him fake the past couple of weeks, I think we can jump to the conclusion that adam is talking about day9 in this tweet and also thinks he's fake. Yup, yup.
"Funny to look at the community perception of people in this space and know how they really are. Glad I only have to remember to be myself"
I honestly am confused at that tweet, but maybe he's saying the community perception of day9 is that he's genuine? That probably is still the predominant perception, despite a recent vocal minority of naysayers. Or is Adam being negative??
I'm sorry but that's hardly "addressing" it in my books.
That's the kind of generic vanilla PG13 statement one would say regardless of whether or not drama is occurring.
Explicitly indicating, "Day9 will be hosting a different event that same weekend" or "Day9 said he needs a vacation" would be infinitely more effective.

Um, no. Adam clearly implied Day9 had an obligation. We don't need to know what that obligation is lol.

He's saying that the community perception of some people are wrong and they act differently behind closed doors. Usually this means that the community thinks someone is nice, but they're not so nice off screen. Basically that the person is two-faced. He doesn't name who he is referring to though, so leaves it cryptic.

its hardly addressing it because you are looking for a conspiracy. he says Day9 has another obligation, it may be a personal one. its not Adam's place to say what the obligation is.
Really? I feel that adding specificity adds credibility, whether or not it should.
Hypothetical: If, for the sake of argument, Day9 really was pissed at MLG, Adam could safely make the statement "Casters sometimes have conflicting obligations" because such a general statement can't be held accountable. I.e., he can't retroactively be accused of lying in the future compared to, if, say, he said something fabricated, i.e., "Day9 is taking a vacation"
TL;DR - being specific means being accountable, and therefore more credible. Vague umbrella statements like, "Oh, casters are sometimes busy" are nearly worthless and is not 'addressing the issue' by a long shot.

Well how else would you want him to put it? MLG and Day[9] aren't going to get into a row in public over business matters, and if it's something personal going on, I don't think they'll bother giving out a specific reason. Neither MLG nor Day[9] really have any right to say to the public what the real "reason" is if the other side doesn't want them to. I just think you're trying to dig up more drama or start another conspiracy theory.

Re: What I would do were I in Adam's position:
There are 2 possibilities:
1. There is no Drama; - Be specific, and therefore accountable, and therefore credible. infinitely more effective than making vague statements that may or may not apply to this situation in particular.
2. There is Drama - Be safe and don't go into details, BUT if you do this, then... - Don't be surprised/bitch that people are curious if you're not going to address it.
My personal hypothesis is that There is no Drama, but Adam is just doing a piss poor job of handling PR on behalf of MLG and by proxy Day9.

you just want to know everything when you aren't entitled to know everything.
That's a fair hypothesis, although it would be more compelling to address and critique my points as opposed to merely accusing me of being an entitled biatch (although that's fair too).
I would like to clarify, however, that I am ok with him not divulging "everything" (although, "anything" might be more apt). I am okay if he doesn't divulge everything, or anything, as long as he doesn't ride atop a high horse later on and wonder why the community is so outspoken and curious thereafter.

Where is Day9 that weekend? None of your fucking business. If Day9 wants people to know he'll tell them, if MLG_Adam even knows it's not for him to say.

Um... I Come to Team Liquid to read this thread?
Day9 not going to be at MLG is a topic worthy of drama? Get over it people. I'm sure he'll be back for future events. Just enjoy the Starcraft.
(Sometimes I think people come to TL because they enjoy the drama more than the Starcraft.)

Adam, you are correct for the most part.
But don't just ignore the issue: address it.
You've posted here like 10x and it took you like post #11 to not pretend people weren't talking about this. And when you did finally mention it, you still didn't address the root question.
Obviously people are going to be confused, and not addressing the issue isn't doing anything to clarify whatever it is that's going on. If it was a simple scheduling conflict, we would expect you to say so. The fact that you aren't saying so suggests (accurate or not) that there is something more.
If there are still rumours being fueled on page +25, it is your fault for not being able to quench it adequately in under 12 posts.

Why address a made up situation. MLG didn't do anything to cause people to speculate on why someone isn't casting. Its a waste of time for any serious member of MLG to discuss a situation made up purely by random people on the internet.
MLG has a great list of casters going to be there on guy isn't going to change anything for anyone who actually likes watching SC2. Adam already mentioned Day9 has prior engagements and anymore than that is not really needed. MLG would have to hire a team specifically for dispelling rumors if they addressed each rumor made up on internet forums.
We have BW legends, some of the best SC2 players foreign and korean, the best english casters and HotS. With or without Day9 this is absolutely a can't miss.

no. MLG sponsored SotG awhile ago and Day9 was still on the show. Then SotG went independent and Day9 pretty much stopped coming on the show and not long after JP said Day9 was taking a hiatus
