Recently I wrote an article for Team-Dignitas.org in which I broke down the prize money awarded by premier SC2 events since the games launch up until now (last tournament included was MLG Spring Arena 2) I am not posting this here to simply plug the article but to have a place to discuss it on TL!
The article can be found here : SC2 Prize Money - Team-Dignitas.org and includes graphs/charts breaking down the disbursement on a month to month basis by race. I basically used the 'Premier Tournament List' found on Liquipedia (Seriously Liquipedia is amazing, kudos to those who maintain it).
As mentioned in the article this is the first in what I plan to be atleast 2 or 3 part series, any and all feedback is appreciated but please be gentle as this is my first go around
You can also find me on @JLewSC on Twitter (just started, need some more followers) for future article/interview updates.

But great article O_O mvp, nestea and mc have such a high % of the total...
.org or .net work.. .com actually doesn't.
Keep in mind that that is a total % of just premier money, not total money, still their %'s would stay relatively the same as they have all won quite a bit of money in one off smaller events as well.
Always knew MC was amazing at the game and was the only person who could constantly do well in events as protoss. Imagine how rich he would be if toss had a 50% winrate the entire time :O
edit, i think this proves what i have always thought and just goes to show how hard it is to win tournaments as a protoss as you have no real ability to win cheap games vs zerg and terran and how your more susceptible because you can be abused unlike the other races
Did you even read the article????? Please don't make posts like this without reading the article.
I clearly state that I only included money won from premier events, basically those found here : Liquipedia - Premier Tournamentsas well as the reasons why, and I also didn't include Red Bull in MC's case.

So you're interjecting subjective measure in a objective piece? Money is money and all should be included to say winnings by race not nebulous 'premier' status.
Your RBL example is a good one to show just how flawed 'premier' title is at TL. No reason for it not to be premier while ESL's and HSC's are

Sorry I should have been more clear, Red Bull Battlegrounds is excluded because I wrote the article before the event happened.. It will undoubtedly be included on the next part of this article.
I explain my reasoning in the article, I wish I had the time and resources to track down every $ awarded in SC2, but I simply don't so I needed some form of cutoff and this list seemed to be a good way to do that. Don't think I don't understand what you're saying, and I agree with you, but the point of this article is to show trends at the highest level of play so excluding some smaller events from the sample group isn't the end of the world.
