I was thinking the same thing. It'd be tragic for the OSL for their first season to be overwhelmingly ZvZ. They're trying to get Korea interested and that would reeeeally not help
Is MVP going to be there? I not heard anything about him since he was in hospital from HSC, then i didn't see him all sunday. Will he be playing again?
Well to be honest I would expect 5-8 Zergs to make it through here.... San and MC seem to be the best PvZ players here, but San has Symbol and DRG, so it may not matter. Byun and MKP looked horrible against Zerg lately and MVP didn't look too well in Code S Ro16. In the end Oz and Parting don't have that great of a PvZ and the Zerg players, we've got here, are all very solid and well rounded. So yeah, looks pretty grim for the non-Zergs
On July 10 2012 18:04 JJH777 wrote: hmm so how is this working? Kespa players can't play any GSL players until the second round or what?
That is correct. There will be another Dual Tournament with only KeSPA players (I believe 12 players in that with 3 groups and only 6 advance). 6 + 8 GSL players and the 2 current OSL finalists will all make the Top 16.
so mc, mvp, nestea, and mkp got seeded into this because of their past performances right? So that means only 1 terran (Byun) qualified through the qualifier bracket... omg this is going to be a rough tournament for terran ... hopefully we'll see something new and revolutionary from MKP
I know this is a little bit offtopic, but i wish for sAviOr to be here so much, whenever i hear the word OSL, he comes to mind. What i would give to see him play starcraft 2, although its impossible...

MKP didn't get seeded, DRG did. MarineKing qualified.
If we don't get a english stream this time surely we should enquire via blizzard? Otherwise what was the point of them meeting, comon the streaming of these events is so important.

When Ongamenet is going to stream in 720 or 1080? Or at least when are they going to upload normal quality of SC2 videos? Because even on 360 or 480 it is possible to watch normal, but not on EsportsTV! It is like watching screener!

No, Of the 3 Terrans there, Mvp got seeded. byun and MKP qualified

I would be happy with a Korean only stream, it won't affect me so much although I can understand it will stop people from watching.
I thought I would never see the day where the majority of players in a Korean competition would be Zerg.

Yes, agreed, i would love to have a Korean stream, since the commentators seem so enthusiastic about everything! Watching some BW VODs, I kind of realized that theyre much better. Only Tastosis can come close to Korean commentators :D

People always talk so highly of the korean streams, but in my opinion i'd much rather have an english cast, if there is no english cast, I will only ever watch if its one of my favorite players playing.
I will be very disappointed if there is no english stream, they try and expand to SC2, so they obviously want to take a piece of the foreign market, if they don't have the english stream, then I will believe that the organizers are mentally retarded.

Wait, what? I had no idea MVP went to the hospital. What happened?
hoping for an english (gom maybe?) stream for this. i like the idea. it's like putting the bw pros in to a bag first and then release them into the fish tank

Cervical Kyphosis, the wrist, or more accurately, spinal injury that he's had for awhile. Unsure what exactly happened that caused him to go to the hospital though.

When the Kespa bracket merges with non-kespa bracket....I think cringe worthy moments will be had. Its still early and they are still practicing both SC2 and BW.
Interesting seeding. I would have put at least 1 or 2 groups with a ZvZ though to reduce the likelihood of both Zs coming through. Like the Z dominance or not you need to admit having a RO8 with 6 or 7 Zs would not make for the most popular tournament even if those were the 6 or 7 best players in the world.
From Liquipedia In 2010, it was discovered that he was involved in the Match Fixing Scandal, and was permanently banned from progaming by KeSPA.
You suggesting he cheated to win? He cheated by losing for money. He's still a bonjwa, however much of an ass he is.
edit: yea the way you wrote it tells me you thought he got free wins. He destroyed everyone 2006-2007. He started match fixing in 2009-2010 through throwing games for some free cash from gambling sites. Nice try though.
sAviOr really should not be the subject here but just to clear things up, sAviOr himself did not throw games. He established connections between players and people who then paid said players to throw their games. sAviOr was a sort of middle man that lead to other players throwing games, but he himself did not throw games.

No one knows the real story anyways. People were saying that he was the so called boss of the whole thing that happened.
Incident like this(scandals). The public will almost never know the true story on the insides of the incident.
So it's better to not bring this incident up at all since this is has nothing to do with an Bo1 in an OSL thread.

I think it's been like that for a while. GTR knows his stuff but I personally don't know if the numbers are always the same for like 9-16 or whatever. Though it's easy to confirm first and second has been those prizes for a long time as they present the checks after the games in the final; frequently shown in winner's interviews, as well as vods.

false. savior threw many games, mostly zvz (because its so easy to fuck up).
anyway, this is completely off-topic, please don't raise this issue again in this thread.
hmm, guess OGN wants to start trying some sort of seeding? These matches look like someone set them up to prevent, say, MKP vs MC in the first match. Not against it but interesting nonetheless.

SC2 is more volatile than BW but the games are also shorter.
So a SC2 Bo3 is about as volatile and long as a BW Bo1, there's no reason to not switch to Bo3 for SC2.

yea in broodwar they have this no fight before 20 minute policy or no honor system. People sits at home, never go for timing attack, cheese, or all-in because they don't want to suffer fan's repercussion and hatred.
Has any information been released on whether there will be an English stream? And, more importantly, on the quality of the stream (proper 16: 9, 480p upwards, or will we have to make due with ProLeague quality)?

the VLC HD stream is the best quality SC2 stream that I've seen lately, btw. So I don't mind that quality
