I would like to compile a little list of 1.5 bugs. I will start Apparently its possible to lose points when wining and tons of them.
I tried to see if any of my friends suffered from point losses like this but apparently the game system crashes every time you try to access your friends ladder. This what i have seen so far.
May as well place all of the bugs in one simple post because for some reason i feel there is going to be tons of them.
I feel a little crummy on a -219 point win. I am almost scared to re queue. (fixed spelling)
Maybe you went up a league and your points are reflected but you didn't get the division change? Just throwing that out there since you're #1 diamond. I may be completely wrong.
When I try to log in it just spams me with "Bnet is down" over and over. However, when I got on my WoW account, all of my Real ID friends yelled because it showed me logging in and out over and over again, spammed them, and filled up their chat XD.
I've done it two or three times since then. I tell them it's the patch and I"m just trying to play but I have a feeling I'll have fewer Real ID friends tomorrow.
Also, at I opened the "SC2 strategy chat" and already had general, and another one open, the game hung on me for like 5-7 seconds. Some guy in the 1.5 thread also said that the game hung on him when opening chat window, so I think we could count that as another bug.
First game I played today, the game would not respond to the keyboard save enter and the higher tier function keys. I wasn't able to build probes, or even type glhf. It was rather disheartening. It cleared up the next game I played, though. I should note that my keyboard was responding properly in other programs.
Uhh... Apart from Mac users largely being fucked over completely by this patch, as in, most of them can't play period... One annoying bug for laptop users is this:
You used to be able to hold down Command key+click in order to right click. For some unknown reason Blizzard removed this CRUCIAL feature. I play on my Mac laptop (yes, shut the hell up in advance about how Macs suck, I got stuck with it because that's what I was given for college) and use a mouse. It has two buttons, but I've gotten soooo accustomed to right clicking via Command+Click that I absolutely cannot play the game any other way. For those users who actually don't use a mouse at all, well, it's even worse. There simply is no longer any means whatsoever to right click, period. How in fuck's name did this loss of functionality make it through? Answer: Not a single mac laptop tested the patch prior to public release. Pathetic
Has noone else noticed that larvae block you from rebuilding hatcheries? If they move up slightly into the space where the hatchery was as they wander you cannot build the hatchery and have to use them up or wait for them to move back down. If you have a dozen or so there you simply can't build the hatchery.
Friend of mine had the patch completely destroy his computer. Locked up before beginning the migration, had to restart, and since then every single other game on the machine is blackscreening and freezing when he starts it.
Don't think he's fixed it yet. Be careful out there, kids.
It was mentioned in the other thread, but custom melee games are completely broken. Among other things, Khaydarin Amulet (high templar energy upgrade) is researchable again, tech lab upgrades have reverted to their old costs, phoenixes can't shoot and move, and a whole slew of other changes that were patched after launch.

1 day 6 hours till Assembly hope they fix very fast guess no one working on starcraft gets to sleep for days till this is fixed
I like to imagine someone with major ladder anxiety finally bringing themselves to queue up. They play an epic back and forth game where they ultimately come out the victor and feel great, perhaps this was what they needed to finally kick their ladder anxiety. But then they check their match history to find that their win cost them over 200 ladder points.
And on that day, one furious nerd uninstalled Sc2.
How about, EVERYTHING I mean really how long have they had this being tested? How does blizzard miraculously continuously fuck up? Trying to be rational, no way a multi billion dollar company can keep making the same kinds of mistakes, could they?
It's funny because tons of people reported the custom stats being off during beta, but nearly everyone passed it off as a "Blizzard didn't care what build they used since they are only testing the arcade, not melee."
Then they go and release the patch with that as the actual build. Scary. :/

Millions of people launching 1.5 and expect it to be perfect. No, not so much. Yes it was beta tested, but how many of you actually tried it and reported bugs?
At least you guys can play. My updater freezes every time I try opening sc2. The patch downloads 100%, then the blue progress bar just keeps looping during the update.
The 200 point ladder game might of been related to a promotion/demotion? When you get demoted you gain a few hundred points, although it doesn't show up in the history like that.

Games should not ship with crash bugs, period. It's not like these are some weird edge case, most of these are fairly obvious and found within 10 mins of playing the game.

That sounds game breaking.
That has happended to me numerous times in past patches. Some larva from a destroyed hatch would wonder up sometimes.
just placed into diamond after going 5-0 in 2v2 placements vs top 8 masters teams. partner is former gm and were both 1300~ in 1v1. never not placed into masters in 2v2.
This patch contains so many bugs.. kinda makes me upset. I can imagine it must suck losing over 200 pts on ladder when you win! Hopefully a lot of the bugs mentioned will be fixed asap.

It was on the ladder in the beta, that's been fixed, customs in the starcraft section have been fixed, it's just if you've listed a custom map in the arcade section you cannot choose melee as an option so it doesn't load the correct balance patch.
So there's definitely some lag in games...it feels like framerate spikes, but it shouldn't happen when both players are doing 1gate/1rax Expo builds and have almost nothing on the map to cause lag. Idk, I played one ladder game. Maybe it was a fluke.
On the upside, that one ladder game I played, I played a PvT and both of us had some un-microable lag, so I A-moved up his ramp with 2 ranged Colossi and killed him. And thus, I finally got promoted into Master League! Thanks, mysterious patch 1.5 lag!
(I hope they don't remove my Master status when they revert this fucking terrible patch!)

No, this is why we regression test.
and a team test and cr test before that :D
But daaaamn, I cant get even get patch to get past the optimizing phase, it wants to unload it's stuff onto C drive where I have things that I cant move and only have 4gb of free space. Guess I'll have to uninstall sc2 and put it on another computer..maybe later.

This might be a bit of a redundant question, but did you check your graphics settings? Mine got reset to high i noticed it in my 1st game when my framerate was spikey.
the larva problem is anoyying took me almost 3 minutes in order to rebuild my hatchary i had to wait for the larva to die before i could place my hatchary down due to the larva being in the way and you cant build on top of the larva and range 3 queens suck !! creep looks like shit ... mini map is blury and looks all weird . roachs are 1 supply not 2 ..
everything looks blury now on this game and i notice loadings takes twice as long and i have a 5000$ computer system my firends take serveral minutes to load a game now as i went from about 5 seconds to maybe 20 now....
I used to be able to play with the korean sound editting the english out. and now when I try it instantly downloads and install the english sound. Is there a way to change it for everyone that had it with a different sound client? ... Im also lag spiking a lot and its very weird!

The larva problem mechanic was in BW as well I believe. All you have to do is make something and cancel it.
The "variables" files have changed. A lot. And your old variables got deleted after the patch. So for me is just pretty fucking hard to get back into the old familiar settings.
Also: the entire game is a lil bit slower now. From menus, to loggin, to gameplay. Everything is fucking slower.
I've managed to magically miss most of the biggest bugs, though it's strange that there are higher-level textures showing up for those of us playing on all Low settings (yes, I set everything back to Low post patch), but I'm consistently getting a very specific kind of lag I've never seen before, there I'm getting into my matches after my opponent; when the loading screen clears I'm brought to a game that's been going for 5-20 seconds (!!); replays show me sitting idle. I've never experienced this before, so if anyone wants to tell me to get a better computer or something....heh.
And, yes, definitely slower FPS in-game. It reads as higher but once the game actually gets going I'm getting lag I've never gotten before, ever.
While personally I haven't really got much to complain about since custom games seemed to be working fine for me. but I did notice this when I hopped onto na to look at how many games are in the open game list.
Has anyone mentioned the alt-ping thing yet? You can't ping the minimap with just "alt+click" now.. it's "alt+g+click" (like it was pre-patch)... It's very annoying.. ><
Haven't found a profile with the same issue and isn't that big of a deal but when checking my profile by clicking on the portrait it incorrectly displays the league i'm in between the 1v1 and Team ranking (as awesome as it'd be to finally be out of Plat!) I've switched around the positions in League & Ladders and it still displays incorrectly on the other page

It's your highest career ranking that they list. So if you were in Diamond at some point in the past, and are in Plat right now - it shows up as Plat. When you put your cursor over the league icon, it shows what current league you're in.
If you've never made it to Diamond before then, that'd be a bug that needs to be reported.
sry if anyone has mentioned it but im getting a lot of graphical glitches in game. They range from an annoying flicker in some parts of a map on desolate stronghold to giant rotating cubes which block significant amounts of vision on daybreak. Interestingly a friend who was in the same game on desolate stronghold said he saw nothing.

This isn't a bug from Patch 1.5. This has always been a thing in SC2. You can always make something with the larva and cancel it.

Yes it is. You could do it when your units aren't larva before.

yea sorry should have added that...the best i've ever done 1v1 is top 8 Plat so showing I've achieved Diamond is a bug
Is it actually impossible to do a search by map name now to create a custom game? Do you have to just scroll through 'popular maps' and hope you find the one you're looking for? I was going to try to play GSL Muspelheim, can't figure out any way in hell to actually find the damn map.
edit: actually I can't login anywhere, when sc2 get's to to login screen it just says bnet is down or I don't have an internet connection, happens with both SEA and NA lol

I'm having a similar problem.
The loading screen seems to finish 3-5 seconds earlier for everyone else, except me, and then everyone else gets a lag screen. This happens in all ladder games and game types.
I already changed all my graphics settings to their old values and this type of thing never happened before the patch. No clue how to fix it.
I checked a friend's profile and it says he is current 1v1 master and has been for 7 seasons when it should say current plat and for 7 seasons. This bug could be because he is in 3v3 master and that's his highest league?
Is there any particular reason why this patch has thousands upon thousands of unusual bugs, glitches and crashes, compared to most other previous patches which are basically totally fine?
also the pheonix bug is because you guys are in a custom game, so you are playing with the same settings as earlier patches, and the phoenix firing while moving was a patch shortly after release.
On August 01 2012 15:07 MCXD wrote: Is there any particular reason why this patch has thousands upon thousands of unusual bugs, glitches and crashes, compared to most other previous patches which are basically totally fine?
Attempting to make huge UI changes witch they have probably been working on since before release. Thus they have tested current changes with different patches and overlooked changing and fixes added or changed. poor testing and typical to a company trying to rush content to keep people active.
On August 01 2012 15:07 MCXD wrote: Is there any particular reason why this patch has thousands upon thousands of unusual bugs, glitches and crashes, compared to most other previous patches which are basically totally fine?
Yes, there are the logistical changes going into the stream launcher which are a lot more complicated then previous patches but once everyone's over to the streamed version subsequent patches and players who download from scratch will have a much easier time.
There are also extensive client changes in preparation for Heart of the Swam and Blizzard Allstarts (Dota), they needed new features in the engine and editor, as well as attempts at optimizations and bugfixes to make that happen and almost one and a half years worth of those changes have been dumped on it all in one go.
They also redid almost every aspect of the battle.net UI to make use of the UI editor that ships with the galaxy editor now, because it lets them more easily iterate on the menus in future.
Then finally, they added the Arcade aspects, which are a combination of client and server side changes relating to custom maps and how they're displayed, adding things like ratings, patch notes, reviews, screenshots, all of which require database changes.
It's just a large extensive patch, this isn't uncommon, even if we don't see the fruits of it in this patch, the next few patches and HotS will likely be significantly less painful just because they got this stuff out of the way now.

I had no idea we could do this to begin with. I was always pressing CTRL+ALT+G to flare, and accidentally hitting space bar so it'd reposition the camera half a second before I click. I'm gonna love this once it's fixed.
That said though, this is pretty embarrassing for Blizzard. I hope everything is fixed in a quick 1.51 patch very shortly...

That always happened.
No, it only happened with eggs not larva.
Everyone seems to be disagreeing on this. Why doesn't someone play a custom game [ since the balance patch is back from 2010 or whenever, it will be the "old" larva rules ] and test it out?
On August 01 2012 15:45 Malpractice.248 wrote: the balance patch issue is only in custom games. however, the larva issue is in ranked. I had to make a, drone to place a hatch
Specifically It's for custom games launched through the arcade, if you create a game from the starcraft side of things and choose melee as your settings I think it's fine. I'll have to check when I get home but that's what I've heard.
My client download the patch and then theres a "Updating Setup Files" box that pops up with a halfway completed update bar. Its been like this for an hour but nothing happens.
So it's been stuck like this for 20 minutes now.. any ideas? It created a new file in my StarCraft 2 folder called "sc2-x.x.x.x-1.5.0.22342-enUS-OSX-Migration-dl". So I guess it's... doing something?
Not so much a bug but more of a mistake: In the Arcade section under Open Games there is a button when you scroll down that I am assuming should be a "NEXT" or "SHOW MORE" but instead says "TEXT."
You can't make lobbies public anymore, idk if the removal of this function was deliberate or a bug, but either way very annoying and inconvenient.
EDIT: Also I can no longer use the Steam overlay with SC2, I think this is because it loads the patcher before sc2 each time, does anybody have suggestions as to how I can get the overlay working again?
Big bug that I found playing as Zerg. Apparently if you kill a hatchery and it had larvae, the larvae remains and WILL BLOCK any replacement hatchery. Happened to me in a ZvP and it took 5 mins to notice that my hatchery wasnt remade after a dt snipe, so I had to either kill all the larvae or make that all into drones and then spines etc.
This is different than before when larvae would not block a hatchery

My favorite part is that I could install diablo 3 and the sc2 beta on my A: drive (which also gave me troubles initially with diablo 3) but I had to reinstall my starcraft 2 to C: for it to patch to 1.5. I kinda feel bad for the 3 people who worked on this, but I'm really shocked how fucked up this patch is.

Same problem here .. Tried to fix it following this. Now I get "An internal error occurred, please restart. If problems persist contact customer support." every time I try to start the launcher. Starting the game from the Support folder (SC2Switcher.exe) works fine though and is in English again .. Re-downloading the full client atm ..
Im scared, what's "starcraft 2 installation optimization?"
I hate it when u just get an update but no patch notes, just like "here is update, we made things better, no problem, by the way on totally unrelated note, patch note team lives in Kazakhstan next to Borat".
My Y is no Y in SC2 anymore (have to use Z) - so SC2 fucks up my language setting for the keyboard if though i use german (so Y is where it's used to be) ... wtf Blizz why ... how ... (edit: i don't even have installed another language set so i don't know how it's even possible that SC2 rearranges them ...).
Y is where it's used to be - fun fact: when i press Y here, Y is where Y should be but it's Z in when trying to use it to f.e. build sth ... WTF!
localeidassets=deDE localeiddata=deDE
Still - my Y is Z / vice versa (have to press Z to f.e. stim with Grid layout) - how do i fix this ...
On top of this there are now so much more lag spikes / freezes throughout the game (instead of just one at the beginning of the very first game).
And lol changed it to deDE in variables.txt, logged in, raged hard about german. Then I closed star 2, went on to bitch on the b.net forums about it, went to variables.txt again, changed it to enGB, loaded star 2 again and now it's in english :D Yay.

Well I feel like it was more luck than anything but w/e.
So I did what blizzard told us all to do and went into variables.txt in my documents folder (now keep in mind i'm using the enGB client) and changed localeidassets and localeiddata to deDE. Then I launched star 2 and was pissed that it was german. Closed the game again. Went back to the same variables.txt and changed the same variables to enGB again, launched the game and it was english again and I could log in.
I don't understand if this patch was beta tested or not. Apparently they haven't even bothered fixing bugs.
One of the changes that bothers me a lot (don't know if it's intended) is that when you type in channels, you have the same color as other people, while in the old patch and even in sc1 and wc3 you had different color. I can't even understand if I typed something or not, it's all the same color. The new chat windows are unreadable, they're also much smaller and have a giant border around them that reduces their size immensely.
The next issue is the fog of war which is looks much more weird in melee. It's too dark. Not only the whole UI of battle.net is now much more darker, but also when I play melee it's so dark. It's like playing in the night, and the darkness consumes everything. It's unwatchable.
Then, even with what the patch was supposed to do: To improve custom games, I've heard a lot of complains from different friends that many custom maps and custom modes no longer work at all and the map makers are clueless on how to fix them. Instead of improving custom games, they destroyed them.
As well as tons of bugs as usual which made me spend an hour to start the patch installation. I don't see any improvements in this patch. Looks more like a downgrade to me.

I can't even start SC2 after patching. I'm on a Mac though. Still. Kind of ruins it. Not being able to play. Kinda bad patch in that regard. I'd have to say.
update: when I force closed it, it said something about my SC2 not being installed correctly and I had to reinstall it. I didn't reinstall but rebooted my machine and then SC2 launched normally. It's all good Blizzy blizz <3. Maybe next time you could make it work on the first try though. Thnx.
Yesterday on NA client I had this: "You need to authorized language pack from Blizzard Entertainment to us this language". So I used this: editing the Variables.txt file in the StarCraft II folder in the Documents folder (C:\Users\<username>\Documents\StarCraft II), and edit these lines to your region:
localeidassets=enUS localeiddata=enUS
Of course now EU client says: "You need to authorized language pack from Blizzard Entertainment to us this language". And probably I should change into enGB x2. Great. But whenever I want to play NA I will have to change into enUS. What is more on my second computer I have EU, NA and KR/TW clients installed so I guess I will have to change this entries in Variables.txt every bloody time. Just f****** great. Great job Blizzard!

Having the same problem and I agree, that dosen't seem optimal.
finally got on EU after changing the thing in variables. Going to be annoying to keep changing though, they better patch that ASAP. Terribly buggy patch
So far, just because of this "variables.txt" bug, this is in my opinion worst patch ever.
It's buggy, it does not change the game in a way to make it nicer to play, it makes a game almost impossible to work on slower computers. And personally new UI is to say at least ugly.
So when will we have 1.5.1? Hopefully in the matter of hours (comment of an naive and frustrated owner of 4 SC2 accounts).
strange that the new UI is so bugged after such a long beta time. I noticed ALL this bugs mentioned here after around 10 Minutes. I really wonder how blizzard couldn't notice all that bugs. Also i don't find anything yet. And i don't know if i like or hate that new fog of war. It kinda looks like probes carry a flashlight when you send them for scouting. The creep color on the minimap seems strange too. I didn't test it yet but somehow it seems like it's harder to see a drop coming on the new creep-color.

No. If you were paying 13€/month you´d have the right to be this mad. You paid 50€ and played with almost no server downtime for 2 1/2 years.
The price Blizzard charges for the product is their call, but ladder support was part of the product, and there's at least an implicit guarantee that they won't actively break the game we bought.

localeidassets=enUS localeiddata=enUS
Any solutions for this "problem" (BUG!)?
The change to Variables.txt doesn't even work for me. I have EU, NA & KR installed.. today I tried to patch my EU by launching the EU client, and despite of it working before the patch, it now automatically connects me on NA server, no matter which of the versions I have installed I launch (didn't try KR to not screw it up) - so when I change Variables.txt to fit EU client, it still connects me on NA and I ge the "language pack" error. So, effectively, only one server I can connect is NA, it won't even let me to patch the EU client.
So people are bitching a lot (as always) about bugs. They will get fixed eventually. But damn, everything looks so god damn nice now. Amazing work from Blizzard. Fucking amazing.
Does the big points loss reflects on your actual points or is it only a display bug ? Also I wonder if it is only points, in which case is annoying but still """ok""", or if it also reflects anykind of negative mmr change...

Blizzard pretty much fudged it up.
It works for me. When I change entries in variables.txt I can go between NA and EU.

This language pack thing is really strange. I installed patch and it was on german, but i like to play on english. So i changed the variables, but it didnt work because of the error. Then i reinstalled Starcraft 2 with the en-client, but i couldnt play either. But with changing the variables to deDE i can still play. Does blizzard wants us to play in our native language? :D:D

I like the new design but do we really need a lot of bugs and a huge patch (also hyped up a lot) just for a new fancy design? To me this patch seems to have no content other then the design.
I understand if This patch has many bugs, Its because this is like releasing a new game, not just balance, and minor bug fixes. so bear with it guys! They will patch it in no time

Custom games are played on a 2010 patch but ladder is fine.
Though, from looking at the OP, I guess on ladder you may experience other problems.
I used to use control+F a lot in the following way: 1. At the time you're around 100gas, select twilight council while waiting for enough resources to get blink 2. Move screen around to observer/scoutprobe/... to see what's going on without selecting them whilst spamming B for blink. 3. One blink is researching, hit control+F to be able to be able to quickly chronoboost it
or: 1. At the start of the game, create camera locations on different bases on the map 2. While an expo is warping in, select it and hit Control+F to center the camera on the nexus.
However now this seems to be quite tricky. Control+F functions as a sort of "smart camera pan on/off" instead of "center camera on current selection". After realising this,I tried pressing it a second time to disable the "smart camera pan". Strangely enough it only disables after you hit it 3 times. This bug threw me off a lot during my first game in 1.5.
I cant start stim even though i have over 100 gas. (says not enough vespene gas). Same with combat shield. I have to wait until like 150 gas to make it work
Sooo...I have to click on a unit with fungal in order to cast it now? I can't just cast it in a target area? Is that bug? I never heard about a balance patch that did that...
Edit: This might only apply to custom games now that I've read a few more posts. 2010 patch? That might have something to do with it, I guess.

When I first loaded up the game after the new patch I noticed that it lowered my resolution. Maybe that's what happened to you too - try changing the graphics setting.
Lag in every single custom game. Played 4 different customs last night, each with 2-3 people that were lagging badly in every one.
Ontop of that, I had to reconfigure my graphics options. I usually have most things set to high/ultra but I can't even get the same frame rate on medium/high now. I checked my resolution and v sync and anything else that might plummet my frame rate, but I can't see anything different from before. I'm not going to be playing if I can't play seamlessly.
I seem to be getting a lower frame-rate than ever on low settings with this new patch. The buff to the graphics or whatever really screwed with my computer. I already have a mediocre computer, so I had to run on low before this... But after this patch I'm getting much more lag when there are lots of units on the screen as opposed to pre-1.5.

teams got bigger, just like the games. Messing up in patches for things that run on two ends (server client) is standard, as there are always unknown factors. You shouldn't forget that they changed alot of the staff too. As for sc2, it seems that Blizzard has the same bugs every patch they do and they just add a few others, as if they update all their servers on different times from the clients. Not sure what mistake they do, but i hope they don't do the same one with HotS. But patches for an offline game is 200 times easier to test.
Anyway the rule has always been don't play on patchday for online gaming, don't expect that to ever change.
I learned in my WoW time to "never play on patchday", but the sheer amount of bugs is just embarassing for Blizzard. Instead of raging I have chosen to laugh at them (the bugs and Blizzard) ^^

Yes, this problem is killing me. Why change it now? Seriously, Blizzard...
Don't apply that variables.txt, it's for a previous patch and a LOT of client modifications have happened, you'll have to wait until someone make a new one otherwise you risk some undefined behaviour.
- 1v1 League icon is bugged, shows Master league which I'm not. - Editing the function keys in the 'Quick Nav' dialog, fails to load if you click the "My Leagues' button. - Arcade->'Open Games', if you hover the mouse over the "Show More" button, its replaced with "Text" afterwards. - The Display FPS command (ctrl+alt+f) doesnt show GPU temperature for macbook. - Attempting to select the 'Ladder Icon'->'Friends' box, loads the page, then the game crashes with a "An unexpected fatal error occurred." error. - Patrol key no longer mappable to ` button.

Being a MB user, this is making me very sad....
I play on a MB also, I use the right click on the mouse, but if you use an apple mouse, that command/ctrl click is incredibly important, is there any way to make it work again?
Couldn't even get into the game to experience the wonderful selection of bugs. Apparantly you now need roughly double (~14GB+) the size of the SC2 installation in free space (on the same drive) in order to do the optimization portion of the 1.5 install. If you don't have that much space (it doesn't actually specify how much, I had to trawl through forums to find a rough estimate) then that's as far as you'll get with the installation.
Now re-downloading the game fresh to try and avoid some bugs and installing it on my 2nd HDD (the slower one...). See you in 3 hours? Sigh...
I don't know what the hell is going on with Blizzard lately, just blunder after blunder.
i noticed two things .. first: in the list of open games in Arcade, if you once go over the "show more" button with your mouse, the text vanishes and there is only written "Text" in the box (german version)
[and also if you have SC2 2 times on your PC both are now using the same options, wich means you cant have oone version for playing and one for casting any more. you are forced to change any options every time you want to the the other thing] --> It's more lilke you simply can't install 1.5 a secound time. If you start the other older exe he runs automatically the updated newer one
Edit: and also they should put "Credits", "options" and "close game on the right side of the log in screen ... its just terrible with all buttons left and nothing right
Edit 2: Also the Creep is now grey(same as some texture) and the "fog of war" is looking the same on every setting ( so nothing with "improved FoW")
Word is that that they left the command + click feature completely out of the update, so it just simply does not exist. I'm using a Razer DeathAdder, but it would take my brain ages to adjust to using the right click on the mouse (I started playing SC2 with a magic mouse).
The fix people are suggesting is binding the move of all units to the "x" key. Here is a post from a thread I made on b.net.
"If you go to the hotkey menu, you can assign a unit's move command to another key. (The default for the move command is "m", which is very inconvenient). You can change the move command hotkey to X or Z, since they are much closer to the command button, and you will be able to play in almost the same way by bypassing the command key for now.
Some units (and some terran buildings) who have an X hotkey already assigned to an action will be "unbound" and so you might have to change those hotkeys too. I think the Z hotkey is unused for units who move though."
I'm not going to mess with the settings that bad. I'm just gonna wait for something to be fixed/released/announced...anything.
Not sure if this has been discussed (not interested in reading 13 pages 3 min after waking up) but when I set all my graphics to low, save, set, reset, they are still on ultra when i reload SC2 1.5.

If you don't ladder you might be #1 on europe after a few weeks, if everyone else plays and loses 168 or 219 per game. Hell, I'm never logging in again, might end up the highest rated point player ever.

If you have all your hatcheries hotkeyed you can double click the hotkey and it will target the nearest thing in your selection group.
I can't even start downloading patch. I press starcraft.exe icon and instead of uploading a new patch - just appear in starcraft 1.4.4. version. and of course can't go b-net there. Any ideas why it happens?
Ok I have a theory. Profiles were bugged earlier in that you could view yourself as a league higher or lower (Blizz commented on this on the b.net forums). So maybe promotions weren't showing up. Perhaps the people losing tons of points are actually getting promoted, and it just hasn't shown up? Because you lose a lot of points when promoted.
is there ANY way to revert the graphics to how lowest was pre 1.5? it's forcing higher res textures alogng with shading despite using the exact same options and not only do i find it distracting but it's giving me performance issues. completely unneeded. if they wanted to add SICK EXTREME graphics and leave it how it is for all the other settings, that's fine. but why are they forcing this? or is this a confirmed bug? don't even want to play right now do to this
If the new low graphic settings doesn't give more/the same fps as before the patch then I don't know what they are doing. If you guys who play on low wanted higher textures then you would just change the texture quality, right? This sucks for you who play on all low and liked/needed the "clay" feeling.
Doubt anybody at Blizzard cares though, we already paid. Maybe they'll care when HOTS sales are 20% of WOL sales.
Yes because it's so bad we might as well refuse to play. No, that isn't the case. The game works fine, the UI and other variables are messed up. They aren't going to revert anything, definitely not from an internet petition

I don't think you understand ... the game is in fact unplayable for a significant portion of the player base. This is robbery. The treatment of OSX 10.5 users (doesn't include me) is heinous: The updater forcibly makes they game they *purchased* unplayable.

I guess so..
I'm sure you can buy activision+ blizzard for around a billion or two, its actually not worth that much Back on track: they should revert the patch or something before assembly hits.Just another reason why sc2 has a bleak future ahead if they decide to keep fucking up. Another reaaon why we should just pack up and move to another game.

On topic: -Can no longer build hatches over larvae (I have lost a game now because I couldn't rebuild a sniped hatch since one of my larvae glided to the center where I needed to rebuild it) -Low settings now dramatically reduce FPS (This has been commented on before) -One nice change, PF, OC, and CC in the same control group now all accept "s" to build scvs, instead of tabbing through.
Is there any way to get the low textures actually to be low res textures? If you believe it or not the ultra textures are actually quite distracting ^^

Anyone having problems loading saved replays from your files? I am getting the following error message. "Windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item" ( These are not replays saved in Starcraft 2 replay system )

Myself and many others are currently unable to ladder due to a huge negative bonus pool. I don't that is "working fine".

or someone who is not a tl newbie could make a new op that is not complete shit and updates the bug list to op.
This is not even close to the solution of the nasty bug. It works only if you have one client installed. I have installed NA, EU and KR/TW clients. Means that every time I want to switch, I have to change this language entries in variables.txt.
In 1.4.4 i used to play in all low settings at 60fps, since the patch i get less fps and the graphics look like, wierd? blurry? i don't know how to describe it by they look like shit and it's really annoying...

"5 signatures reached", hm. I personally would find it helpful if the petition explained what it is talking about. Is there no low graphics setting any more? How does it "aggressively break" Mac systems?

I think what is meant that some Mac's can't play the game anymore, ever, thanks to this patch.

If that is intentional, those people should definitely get a refund at least ... but can we assume any of this to be intentional at this point? I haven't patched, and I don't think I'm going to very soon, but this does sound messed up ...

This patch is incompatible with OSX 10.5.x. Of course, you cannot play the game if you aren't on the latest patch, and the patching process begins as soon as you start your game. My understanding is that 10.5 users are simply left high-and-dry with a game that tells them they need to upgrade. Certainly they cannot play a game on battle.net.

It means I can't play the game I paid for. So give me a refund, or revert to the previous patch, or be sued by me for false advertising a game's system requirements...

I'm pretty sure that LOTS OF PEAPLE and PRO want their low settings back.
Why did the OP make a bug list thread and not actually list the bugs... Now people are just gonna repeat the same ones page after page.
One bug I encountered that's probably pretty rare is the toast notification spam. One of my added friends logged onto the site and for about 15 minutes it was spamming over and over "XXX is online, XXX is online, XXX is online..."
The nexus has a very large mass so it is creating a gravitational field in the fabric of space-time. I think blizzard wants to put more science in this sci-fi game so they watched some physics documentaries. It makes sense if you think of the nexus as a planet and probes as little space ships flying around
I think HOTS will introduce some quantum mechanics as well, like if an egg is cancelled it may also spontaneously turn into a charging ultralisk in a parallel universe (aka somebody else's game).
oh wow. I have just wanted to play bejeweled... Yeah... on lowest settings it took my computer like 40 seconds to let me click on something. Before anyone say I should have better computer: on 1.4.4 I could play 3v3 without much of lagging.

Someone has probably already mentioned this but heyho, Ctrl+F is fucked since patch. For anyone who doesn't use this, it's the 'Center on current selection' function, I use it a lot and it seems to just plain not work half the time, then when it does, scrolling away seems to get stuck for a second. I'm also having a problem where sometimes I tap a control group to select it and it will center on it as if I've double tapped it, when I clearly haven't. I have to scroll the screen around to fix it.
Just lost a game because I was so busy wrestling with these bugs that I forgot to build my 2nd ovie and died to the first set of lings.
I don't get how an interface patch can cause so many ingame bugs. Pretty damn frustrating tbh.
da fuuu... it reseted my language to germanz wtf ? Blizzard english do you speak it motherf***** why on earth did you do that ??? .... And download gigs and gigs of s-C II again and again and agian...

Terribly low fps on my computer. I think it was somewhere around 8 as soon as I get around 15 probes in my base and I look at that area. Pretty much makes the game unplayable. and yes this is all on the lowest possibly settings
is it me or do any of you get that input limit reached constantly...like every 10 seconds it pops up for no apparent reason...I could be doing nothing and it pops up...I've removed like 20 people from my friends and that wasn't the answer to this bug

No, youre wrong. Before larva moved out of the way, but if an egg is there you have to cancel (just tested on the KR server).

I get lag everytime I use a new object. Like the first extractor, the first barracks I build. It drives me insane. Release notes said the engine had been optimized but to me it seems like performance has degraded. Does the new patch require better wood in your computer? I can overclock 8% is that enough to get back to the old framerate?!?

Tiny little bugs? You should read the whole thread. I don't think these bugs are that tiny.
But wouldn't this be configured in the OS? How does the game client force you to use QWERTY?
yes, it is configured by the OS, but:
sc2 used to have a grid option which recognizes the "z" key stroke as being on the upper right side of the grid (for german layout). since patch 1.5 however, only the QWERTY grid is available, resulting in the "z" and "y" to be switched up in the grid...maybe hard to get if you are using the "original" english keyboard layout.
Hey guys! As FainRaVen appears to have no interest in maintaining his OP, I've opened a new thread on this topic in which I'm cataloging known issues with the new patch.
