NEW (Aug 8): Blizzard has released patch 1.5.1 with fixes for a few of these bugs to the TW/KR server, presumably that will roll out to the other servers over the coming week. I'll mark the bugs that they report fixed in the patch, please let me know if you keep getting any of the errors after 1.5.1 deploys on your server.
Thanks to cokefreak for the idea of a change log, sorry I started it so late. Times in KST.

Bugs 1. Very large gain/loss of points after a ladder game. Some people are reporting losses of hundreds of points after a single ladder game.
2. Unable to select 1v1 in Leagues & Ladders: Some people are reporting they can't select 1v1 in the Leagues and Ladders career screen, as illustrated.
Not a bug: "1v1" is actually just hidden, you should be able to scroll down to it using the mouse wheel.
3. Unable to log in Several people have reported that they simply can't log in. I don't know any solution to this problem so far.
4. Custom games have old balance rules Custom games appear to be loading different sets of rules for different maps. 5-rax Reaper is viable again, and you can research Kaydarin Amulet and warp in Storms again. As far as I've read, this appears to be pretty random and differ from map to map. It only appears to affect custom games.
4.) Some games appearing in the “Join Game” list of the “Custom Games” menu on the StarCraft II side of the client will cause that game to be played using an older balance. As a temporary work around please start lobbies from the “Create Game” page.
I'm unclear as to whether the old behavior was that Larva would move out of the way or whether they simply didn't block building on top of them, but there have been a ton of reports that sniped Hatches can end up blocked for minutes at a time because the Larva wander up to where the Hatchery was previously placed and block a new Hatchery from being constructed.
Workaround: Select the Larva manually, build something with them, then cancel. If maxed supply, build an overlord then cancel. The Larva transform into eggs, the eggs explode and vanish when cancelled.
6. The current season is listed as Season 3 This is not a bug. The seasons are now (retroactively) numbered according to the year, so we are now in Season 3 of 2012.
7. Mac 10.5 is no longer supported This is not a bug. Blizzard has ceased to support Mac OS 10.5 as of this patch.
8. (Mac) Command + click no longer substitutes for right click, which is a problem for people using one-button mice and laptops. Reported fixed in 1.5.1 + Show Spoiler [Original description] +
Workarounds: Use a two-button mouse, or rebind "move" to a more convenient location. There don't seem to be any better fixes than these at the moment .
Reported here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=357464 The "center on current selection" hotkey (Ctrl+F by default) no longer works correctly. The OP of the thread above reports that it works only sporadically, and sometimes tracks the unit (which should be Ctrl+Shift+F) instead of simply centering the screen. Workaround: You can click the portrait of a unit to get the same effect.
10. Pathing is buggy Workers are getting buggy pathing when given move commands near a main building:
Another pathing error is demonstrated at 12:06 in this replay (http://drop.sc/232579 - watch the Roach at the top of Batman's ramp).
Another user has reported that they were having issues with Siege Tanks pathing incorrectly near Xel'Naga towers. It appears from all this that the pathing engine has been overhauled somehow and the new engine is just generally buggy.
11. Language pack issues There are a number of issues involving people having the wrong language after the patch was installed, even a different language that that of the client that they initially installed. Also, some people are being blocked from running the client by an error saying that they need to install an authorized language pack.
12. General performance issues There are tons of reports of performance issues (lag, frame dropping, slower loading times, etc) resulting from the patch. Some of these problems may be related to playing certain game sounds.
Possible fixes: - Note that your graphic settings are reset to their defaults after the patch is loaded, some of the lost performance may be a result of that if you were playing on lower settings than your defaults. - Delete your cache folder, instructions for PC here, for Mac here. You can repopulate the cache folder by running %YOUR SC2 INSTALL FOLDER%/support/PrePopulateCache.exe as an administrator . - User e4e5nf3 reports getting improved performance by disabling all sounds. - Several awesome people have created replays and custom maps that attempt to force the client to cache all unit assets by building every unit, casting every spell and triggering every death animation. (Examples: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=358664,http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=359043,http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/xrl8p/working_temporary_solution_to_15_stuttering/)
13. You can't ping the minimap anymore with alt+left click Fix: There is a shortcut key called "Quick ping", which you can bind to "Alt" to restore the old functionality.
14. Unable to update to the new patch There have been a number of reports of people whose updaters just hang and refuse to update SC2.
Possible fix: The optimizer appears to need a very large amount of hard drive space free, as much as SC2 itself uses. Try freeing up space equal to what your SC2 installation requires and try again.
15. The patch breaks all mods (eg stronger team color, custom backgrounds, BW sounds) This is not actually a bug, it's intentional behavior added by Blizzard. The game now checks its MPQ files and downloads fresh copies if they aren't identical to what it's expecting to find.
16. Graphics are "blurry", even on high settings This is probably not a bug. Several people have mentioned this, but it seems that people are most likely just not aware that their resolution settings may have been changed by the patch. Please make sure that your resolution is configured to what it was before the patch. If you still have an issue, please make a screen shot and post it!
Also, it's possible that the blurry effects are from playing before textures have completely loaded, as some people have reported that the problem fixes itself after a bit of time.
18. LAN mode is still not supported Blizzard is aware of the issue.
19. "Low" texture setting looks much nicer, results in lower performance As described here, "Low" texture settings now load prerendered static bumpmaps, whereas the previous "low" setting had no bumpmapping at all. The result is (arguably) a nicer-looking picture, but some people are reporting performance problems that may have something to do with this.
Fix: You can restore the old "low" texture behavior by setting "alternateLowTextures=0" in variables.txt.
20. Game crashes when loading "Leagues & Ladders > Friends" Some people are reporting that trying to load this screen crashes their client.
21. The ladder is overrun by assholes who are incapable of accepting responsibility for their own failure. Not a bug. This functionality existed in earlier builds and there are no plans to patch it out at this time.
22. Graphic settings are reverting on restart. There have been lots of reports that people change their graphic settings, then find them returned to their previous values when they restart the client. This is especially annoying because some graphics changes require restarting the client to take effect.
Possible fix: Try removing write protection from your variables.txt file. This is unconfirmed so far, please let me know if it works for you!
23. Problems using non-QWERTY keyboard layout combined with Grid hotkeys Using Grid hotkeys and a non-QWERTY keyboard layout at the same time has been a pain since the game was released. There are reports that this is an issue again post-patch.
Fixes: You can manually rebind the keys to the correct characters (for example, by binding "Y" to the "Z" position for a German keyboard). In my experience, this can cause other problems if you're protoss with a German keyboard and use Z for your Warpgate hotkey. I've solved the problem in earlier patches by leaving the bindings at their defaults and just having the English (USA) keyboard layout installed in my Windows settings (I don't actually switch to English when I play, just having it installed seems to fix SC2's confusion for some reason).
24. From Blizzard's thread: Flying units on different cliff levels will not be hit by splash damage from targeted AoE attacks or abilities. This issue is under investigation.
25. From Blizzard's thread: The manual button on the SC2 1.5.0 installer links to a webpage that does not exist. This issue is under investigation.
26. From Blizzard's thread: Clicking a profile tab quickly after clicking a Back button does not switch to that tab correctly. This issue is under investigation.
27. From Blizzard's thread: [Mac] The game will run out of memory when switching from medium or high graphics settings to ultra. This issue is under investigation.
28. From Blizzard's thread: Compatibility - ATI Catalyst 11.8+: The game video freezes when taking the focus away from it right after unlocking the computer. This issue is under investigation.
29. From Blizzard's thread: Loading a save created with Ultra graphics settings from a previous client version causes some foliage to appear pink. This is intended behavior. SC2 foliage is confident in its masculinity.
30. From Blizzard's thread: Flying Terran structures that are on fire leave behind a trail of particle effects when destroyed. This issue is under investigation.
31. From Blizzard's thread: The client can reach a state where models will appear to vanish. What does it mean "appear to vanish"? We're talking about graphics, right? What's the difference between appearing to vanish and actually vanishing?
32. From Blizzard's thread: Terrain appears as bright pink on Geforce 9300M graphics cards with shaders set to low. The terrain has been spending a lot of time with the foliage lately...
33. From Blizzard's thread: Shadows on the Hyperion on the Log In Screen in 1.5 are noticeably lower resolution than in 1.4. This issue is under investigation.
34. From Blizzard's thread: Fog of War is not rendering properly on GeForce 6800, 7300 and 7600 cards. This issue is under investigation.
User CheeseSucker reports experiencing this error with an NVidia Quadro FX 3500M, as well.
35. From Blizzard's thread: Errors are sometimes returned when queuing for Co-Op Vs. A.I. Games. This issue is under investigation.
36. From Blizzard's thread: Vultures can use their Replenish Spider Mine ability despite having their maximum number of Spider Mines. We are aware of an issue with spider mines being automatically purchased and build even in a full Vulture in the Wings of Liberty Campaign and are working towards a solution.
37. From Blizzard's thread: We appear to be using our paying customers as beta testers. This is not a bug, it's a dodgy business strategy.
38. Hotkey for APM and EAPM in replays is both "M" but only works for one of them.
39. Custom map settings can't be changed, or map can't be made public Not a bug - This is evidently how custom games have always worked. Sorry, I've never played public customs, so I didn't realize. + Show Spoiler [Bug description] +
On August 02 2012 05:48 Noam wrote: As far as I can tell you can either JOIN a custom map which has all the default settings marked and is open to public, or you can create a custom map and then you can change settings but you cannot open it to public anymore.
40. Hatcheries can evidently end up with multiple worker rallys Can anyone confirm this or tell me what exactly is going on here?
41. Team chat does not work There appears to be a bug that prevents chat from working correctly in team (2v2, 3v3, 4v4) games.
42. Replay folder is now organized so that folders and replay files have the same icon, making it difficult to tell the difference between folders and replays.
43. Late game start Several players have reported that they are experiencing games that start several seconds late. This is something that has been an issue in the past, but it appears to be a new problem for some players (and to have been fixed for others - I had this problem in 1.4.4 and I don't have it in 1.5).
44. Freezing/crashing while using an internet browser There has been one report, and I have experienced this as well, of the client freezing or crashing while Chrome is running. This may be related to running Java applications (eg Twitch.tv stream chat), and it may not be browser specific, I'd really appreciate more information if anyone else is experiencing this.
45. Challenge maps are sporadically causing crashes Reported by MorroW in this post, the exact cause isn't clear and no one has reported a workaround yet.
46. Ladder wins report no points won So far reported only by a single player, if anyone can confirm this and provide any more information about this bug, please post!
47. Pylon radius is not visible in replays Regardless of whose vision you have and independent of graphic settings, you can't see Plyons' radius in a replay.
48. Chat counts number of people in a room incorrectly As illustrated here: + Show Spoiler +
49. Achievements are not being correctly recognized. Players are reporting that the achievement system is not showing achievements that should be shown. For example, a couple of people are missing Starcraft Master achievements (where do I even find those on the UI? I can't verify whether mine are missing), and one person reported his FFA wins were all missing. Also, achievements may no longer be getting awarded correctly.
51. Sound comes from speakers despite headphones being plugged in and set as sound output. Reported here and confirmed by other posters in that thread.
52. (Mac) It is not possible to bind commands to the ´ key
53. Race selection buttons are mislabeled "red", "blue", "teal" and "purple". The user that posted this reported that it made it impossible to ladder.
Workaround: The user that reported this says that restarting the client fixes the problem.
54. All fields empty at log-in, logging in results in an empty error message
55. Client logs itself in and out repeatedly, making play impossible As reported by Heartland:
On August 06 2012 18:36 Heartland wrote: Basically I open SC2, the installation for the patch window open. Nothing happens for a few seconds and then the Play button lights up. I click it, game opens and I log in. Then I am logged in and out every second, unable to do anything.
Fix:
On August 09 2012 20:53 Heartland wrote: Basically what I did was I updated a bunch of Windows update things I had been neglecting, rebooted and then my firewall prompted me for the program (I had previously set it it to accept all the SC2 programs however) and then it allowed me to update it just fine.
56. Spine Crawlers glitch when you attempt to burrow them too close to one another
On August 07 2012 23:13 Speece wrote: I tried to burrow two spines too close to each other and it looks like they stacked but this one is not actually burrowed.
On August 02 2012 04:10 Conti wrote: Another minor purely cosmetic bug: There is a new animation for abilities like blink, the icon flashes when blink is available again. When you select another unit or building right at that moment, the icon of said unit or building flashes instead if it has one at the same position.
Lots of people are having the issue that their league is being shown as one higher or one lower than their actual league. This seems to be purely cosmetic, though. It's possible this is due to ranks getting switched around between 1v1, 2v2, etc.
- Your own text is no longer a different color in chat windows This isn't the biggest deal in the world, but it makes it a lot harder to find your own messages in a chat window.
- Some maps are rendering with water missing for some users
On August 07 2012 23:46 Psychobabas wrote: I am experiencing graphical glitches on certain maps. For example Ohana, north position, the water north of the main base is completely black.
Never had this problem until 1.5.
Using ATI 4650 1gb.
As you can see, complete darkness, normally there are blue waves there, which you can see through the fog of war.
Bugs present since before 1.5 - Banelings' morph ability cannot be queued A "morph to Baneling" command to a Zergling is always carried out immediately, even if you're holding down "shift", which is inconsistent with how all other commands (including other morph commands) work.+ Show Spoiler +
I haven't forgotten anything, I just haven't finished adding everything yet. Also, the things you are describing are #4, or is this the case in ladder games?
You should also mention the broken pathing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vj-e1WVIv2M&feature=player_embedded I can confirm this, it's really weird. Workers seem to really, really enjoy walking all the way around a main building to get somewhere, even if it's blatantly obviously the longer way.
EDIT: Also, the patch overwrites custom language settings, which have to be reset in the variables.txt.
Another minor purely cosmetic bug: There is a new animation for abilities like blink, the icon flashes when blink is available again. When you select another unit or building right at that moment, the icon of said unit or building flashes instead if it has one at the same position.
I am currently trying to open a custom game (shattered temple). In old version new maps were downloaded in 10 seconds MOST but now I'm waiting for more than 5 minutes and it's still only half way down... They take forever to download..
My client is refusing completelly to update to 1.5 for some weird reason, the patcher just get's stuck in 0% (in the old UI for patches) and then the "play" button "turns on" while the patcher still says 0%. When i click it the game loads normaly and then it allows me to log in, but when i do a sign appears inside the game, in the b.net menus, saying that the b.net servers are down and then it kick's me out of the game. I have restarted the computer at least a 4 times, i have taken down firewall, and my antivirus, and waited something like ~4 hours with the patcher/optimizer open just in case i just needed to wait a long time, and well, nothing happened.
EDIT: Now it's working propelly, it seems that it fixed itself while i was writing this, but there's one problem still, the patch is downloading at a rate of ~56Kbts/s... DAMN IT BLIZZ
I have a bug I believe on my system where I had all of the graphic settings turned to low or off, and when I dled/installed new patch they were reset to mid. When I changed them all back to low (went to that screen several times to double check), I still see the best textures in-game that I've ever seen; i.e., they're definitely not low, and they're slowing down my computer a lot.

If I understand the explanation there correctly, this could be adding to the map loading times, but shouldn't be slowing down the game. The additional texture files required are probably adding to the program's RAM footprint, though, so maybe memory problems are part of the problem people are having?
The fix is to set "alternateLowTextures=0" in variables.txt, which restores the old low texture setting.
Also, I'll split that into a separate issue from the general performance problems, because it's clearly bugging a lot of people (like me) who like the old low graphic settings.
13. You can't ping the minimap anymore with alt+left click
There's a hotkey called Quick Ping, you can set it to alt. It still requires alt+left click to function which makes it act the same way it did before. It will unbind the default show/hide health bars, but you can rebind that key to alt+ctrl or something else. Doesn't really affect you if you have health bars on all the time anyways.

No, larvae never blocked hatcheries. Eggs did, though.

Then i played a different game lol .... when f.ex an hatchery with more then 4 larvas was killed they always walked a bit up and blocked it.

Didn't larvae move out of the way last time when you were trying to throw down a hatch? They just stay idle at the same spot in the new patch.
When I was doing post-update optimization it required me to free up around 11GB - which is more or less the size of the SC2 directory itself in my case.
Sort of a bug I guess, but SC2 loader auto patched my game to a French version when I was playing an English version. It's kind of annoying, now I have to reinstall everything
On August 02 2012 04:23 vesicular wrote: Also, attempting to view your friends ladder rankings results in the game crashing.
Has anyone else had this bug?
Confirmed. My EU client crashes when clicking the 'Friends' button on Leagues & Ladders page. I have max amount of friends on my EU account. My US client does not crash, but I only have ~20 people on my friends list there.
One annoying feature/bug is that it seems you cannot launch selected replay anymore from desktop even if the file associations are ok. You have to find the correct replay with with the game's own replay browser and launch it from there.
Another bug is that when viewing replays from older patches the game ignores fps limits set in the variables.txt.

You don't, change the language in the variables.txt, see the OP.

Remember quite a few games where i was not very amused. And for my expirience, no, they never walked away. Just red pixel on the ground saying you can´t build here.

Did you try changing your variables.txt? Blizzard claims that you can change your language there back to English and it will work without any problems:
Lots of people have said it worked for them. I'm in a similar situation (English client in Germany), but my client stayed in English for whatever reason, so I haven't tested the fix myself.

Ok, adding to OP, thanks!
If anyone has more information on this, or can test it, please let me know! I want to do some testing myself, but just keeping the OP up to date with all the threads discussing bugs is keeping me busy.

Either you are misremembering or you played a unique version of SC2 all by yourself.
Eggs have always blocked hatches but larvae didn't before 1.5
Since it's now physically impossible to play on a pre-1.5 client ever again, the question of whether it's a new bug is moot. Enough people are reporting it that I'll keep it in the OP, and the fix is at least better than nothing (though having to waste Larva sucks). Let's stop debating it now, please .

Sorry but your memory is wrong
Larva have always moved when building a hatch. It is the eggs that block it

Eggs have always blocked hatches but larvae didn't before 1.5
I know that i needed to build something with the larva to actually use that spot for a new hatch because they blocked the place. It didn´t happened alot. But it happened. Can´t convince you guys with that because i have no evidence. So if majory says it is new. Okay, fine. Then i played a different game.
EDIT: In the end we are the still the same opinion. We don´t like larvas blocking hatcherys.
On August 02 2012 04:57 AmericanUmlaut wrote: Okay, guys, knock it off. Make a new thread if you want to debate the larva thing.
To end on a conciliatory note -- it's possible both sides are right. Pro-gamers (like Sheth) rarely (or never) have a hatchery die with 10+ idle larvae, and rarely let their idle larvae roam around for a while before immediately rebuilding a lost hatchery. So, possibly if there were enough larvae and they drifted long enough, then they could block a new hatch, but pre-1.5 they would not block the hatch in 99% of situations. But I agree, the debate should be taken elsewhere.
On topic -- I have seen multiple people backing up the "pressing friends tab in leagues & ladders screen results in SC2 crashing" bug on TL and on the BNET forums, so I think it should be added to the list.
There also appears to be a major bug where patch changes have reverted or there are unit stat errors. I can think of a few of the top of my head:
- Overlord speed has been reverted - Infestors move at 1 speed while burrowed - You can't spew infested terrans while infestors are burrowed - Already had neural parasite researched when infestation pit finished - roaches are 1 supply

This is #4, unless you mean that you've experienced this in a ladder match. So far as far as I know, this is only an issue in custom games.
Not sure if its been said but 1v1 and team ranks get swapped on the main part of someones profile. If your in plat 1v1 and diamond 2v2 it will switch them around, etc.
A bug of my own: I had SC2 (windowed full-screen) on one monitor and was loading TL in Chrome in fullscreen on the other, and my picture went all wonky and then my computer reset itself. Has anyone else had this issue?

Added the information to the relevant bug in the "cosmetic bugs" section, thank you!

This is #4 on the list already. Only happens in custom games some of the time for some people apparently.
Custom game 1v1s start as soon as the lobby fills, so you cant switch anyone to referee. You also cant edit the settings on the maps, so it starts at slowest speed, etc. etc.
It contains a lot of stuff that no one has noticed before, like "Flying units on different cliff levels will not be hit by splash damage from targeted AoE attacks or abilities." That's such a random thing that I can't imagine it was found post-patch, they probably just decided it wasn't important enough to delay the patch for.
Edit: Okay, all of Blizzard's self-reported bugs have been added to the OP. Hilariously, there is no overlap - all of the stuff we've found is either new to them or they don't want to admit to knowing the bugs were present and releasing on schedule anyhow.

Have you checked that you still have SC2 running in "Windowed (full screen)" mode? It might have gotten reset by the patch, and running in normal fullscreen mode makes alt-tabbing a lot slower.
22. Graphic settings are reverting on restart. There have been lots of reports that people change their graphic settings, then find them returned to their previous values when they restart the client. This is especially annoying because some graphics changes require restarting the client to take effect. There's no fix as far as I know.
I solved my problem by disabling write-protection in the variables.txt.

Not sure if it's a bug but YABOT custom map doesn't work for me any more. I cannot find the unofficial 1.4.4 version on Antiga Shipyard which I used to use, and none of the official ones seem to work. All I get is an empty map covered in FoW.

As far as I can tell you can either JOIN a custom map which is locked to all the default settings and is open to public, or you can create a custom map and then you can change settings but you cannot open it to public anymore.

Is it possible that you don't have enough free space on your C: drive? I don't know why it would try to download the 1.4.4 patch, but there is an issue where the optimizer will freeze if it can't find enough free space on your C: drive.

Just wondering, I thought no more support for OSX 1.5.6 meant they just weren't going to spend time fixing anything for them anymore. But my friend actually can't even download the patch, does it mean they're all just screwed?

This is quite horrible..
Yeah, this. Can't make truly random monobattles any longer. Though that's not technically a bug, I think. You can still create new games and change the "mode", which is what blizzard wants you to do, I think. But still, they took a feature away.

Yep. Load of crap if you ask me and I dont even own a Mac.
Edit, A couple of possible bugs I also noticed was in customs my hotkey (1-0) were flashing. And I played a ladder game where my oponent asked for a pp, paused and imeadiatly he surrendered?
Does it seem like the remaining sc2 team is probably pretty small? I mean, for a patch like this to take so long, but still have so many bugs?
Anyways I'm actually glad this patch came, my computer runs smoothly on it and I have no more stupid freezing. Even with the higher quality texture on Low, my computer still runs better. Higher FPS and no more freezing the first time i build a barracks, the first time my barracks finishes, the first time my marine comes out, etc. etc. argh.
I'm glad I stopped playing a few seasons ago. For those of you thinking this is just a big mistake on blizzard's part, well it's not. They're redesigning the game to have full control over it(for example they always wanted to implement a money house where you can buy popular maps, and the author gets a certain cut while the rest goes to blizzard). These useless patches (in terms of gameplay) will cause many bugs and the players are the ones suffering. Just ask yourself this: What has this patch brought that was needed?

Thanks for maintaining the list OP. Good read.
As for the quoted bit, it seems a bit of a no-brainer, but with the graphics settings having been reset, the game's resolution may also have changed for you. For instance, my resolution reverted to 720p (from 1080p), resulting in blurriness of doom. After setting everything to pre-patch values, the game looks like it did before (apart from the new low-shader bumpmapping thing).
There's a bug with the langue (region) set (keyboard layout): if you only have the german / ... an no other set installed your Y key (in Grid layout) might just not work - i actually had to press Z which is next to T on a german layouted keyboard. To fix this i had to add the US layout - switch to it while being ingame - switch back to DE - now Y just works as it did before but i have to keep the US layout installed (disabled the hotkeys to cycle between the layouts).
Never had problems before (pre-1.5), just had this one german layout installed so i couldn't switch to f.e. US by accident / bug / ...
I got a bug. I don't know if anyone else has gotten this.
I was doing a PvT, and my Colossus never came out of the Robotics. It was just at full and it was never created. I had the Robotics walled-in so that may have been the reason why.

Wtf man, that's not a bug... it was like this since the release lol
My gamma seems to be set quite a bit lower, I used to play in fullscreen windowed mode and the colors were fine. Now, I have very dark colors and no adjustments available as the gamma slider is unavailable in windowed mode. I switched to "true" fullscreen mode just to adjust the gamme and the slider is already maxed out, making for a not unplayable but very dark game at what seems to be max gamma.
Custom hotkeys bug with grid as base Pre-1.5, you could create a hotkey setup with grid mode, and then go to the hotkey file and add a line "Attack=A" in order to change the attack-move command to A instead of whatever it is on your keyboard.
Now, it will not replace attack-move with A, even though it will show the hotkey as "A" as on the following image:
I don't know if this happens with other commands(probably does), and I don't know any workaround. When I asked blizz support, he kindly told me to fuck myself and deal with it ask other players on forums if they find an workaround.

Just gonna reconfirm this one. It lists my career league on an alt account of mine as diamond (correct), current league as diamond (incorrect, it's plat), times achieved 4 (also correct).
Getting very, VERY tired of getting congratulated on Diamond from friends when I'm still plat.

21. The ladder is overrun by assholes who are incapable of accepting responsibility for their own failure. Not a bug. This functionality existed in earlier builds and there are no plans to patch it out at this time. [...] 37. From Blizzard's thread: We appear to be using our paying customers as beta testers. This is not a bug, it's a dodgy business strategy.
NEW: Blizzard now has their own "Known issues" thread for the 1.5 patch. I'll add stuff from there, but it may contain bugs that I haven't added here yet. http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/6232293997
There is a thread here that was started to compile a list of known bugs in 1.5, but the thread has become very difficult to navigate, as the OP has neglected to maintain it. I'm creating this thread in an effort to compile a useful list of known bugs in patch 1.5.
Rules: This is not a thread for discussing why you think this patch is buggy, why Activision is the devil, whether you think Blizzard stole your money or why the reversion to beta balance is for the best. This thread is for posting the following:
- Confirmation that you have experienced a bug that's been brought up in the thread. - A new bug that you believe was introduced by patch 1.5. - Additional information regarding a bug or an unexpected change in behavior resulting from patch 1.5. Especially if you have a workaround!
If you feel the need to bitch about the patch being buggy as hell, make your own thread; the other one got pretty unreadable because everyone was spamming it full of complaints instead of adding information.
Resolution: "1v1" is actually just hidden, you should be able to scroll down to it using the mouse wheel.
5. Larva block rebuild hatches I'm unclear as to whether the old behavior was that Larva would move out of the way or whether they simply didn't block building on top of them, but there have been a ton of reports that sniped Hatches can end up blocked for minutes at a time because the Larva wander up to where the Hatchery was previously placed and block a new Hatchery from being constructed.
Workaround: Select the Larva manually, build something with them, then cancel.
Workarounds: Use a two-button mouse, or rebind "move" to a more convenient location. There don't seem to be any better fixes than these at the moment .
9. Ctrl+F no longer centers the screen on a unit.
Unfortunately, some of this appears to be unfixable, because Blizzard has actually made some changes to the rendering engine (for example: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=357482) that change what the different settings actually mean.
Possible fixes: Note that your graphic settings are reset to their defaults after the patch is loaded, some of the lost performance may be a result of that if you were playing on lower settings than your defaults.
13. You can't ping the minimap anymore with alt+left click Fix: There is a shortcut key called "Quick ping", which you can bind to "Alt" to restore the old functionality.
14. Unable to update to the new patch There have been a number of reports of people whose updaters just hang and refuse to update SC2.
Possible fix: The optimizer appears to need a very large amount of hard drive space free on your C: drive (according to a couple of posts, it's possible there's also a bug that prevents installation on a hard drive that is not labeled "C:"). Try freeing up space equal to what your SC2 installation requires (I think 2 gigs should be enough) and try again.
15. The patch breaks all mods (eg stronger team color, custom backgrounds, BW sounds) This is not actually a bug, it's intentional behavior added by Blizzard. The game now checks its MPQ files and downloads fresh copies if they aren't identical to what it's expecting to find.
16. Graphics are "blurry", even on high settings Enough people have mentioned this that I'll list it here, but I haven't seen any screen shots, and no one has reported a workaround. If you guys have any information, please post it!
23. Problems using German keyboard layout combined with Grid hotkeys Using Grid hotkeys and a German keyboard layout at the same time has been a pain since the game was released (for those that don't know, the Z and Y keys are reversed between German and English layouts, which confuses the client sometimes). There are reports that this is an issue again post-patch.
Fixes: You can try manually binding "Z" to the "Y" position (bottom left). It's possible this will cause you other problems if you're protoss and use Z for your Warpgate hotkey (as I do). I've solved the problem in earlier patches by leaving the bindings at their defaults and just having the English (USA) keyboard layout installed in my Windows settings (I don't actually switch to English when I play, just having it installed seems to fix SC2's confusion for some reason).

can someone help me, i cant join in EU server after the new patch, what can i do? i have the NA/LA sc2 installed in "c" hard drive and the EU sc2 in "D" hard drive but EU sc2 doesnt work anymore
Bug with sound: If you use ctrl+s to disable sounds ingame, then exit to the menu and hit ctrl+s to re-enable sounds, it will not work. Trying to enable it by going into the menu doesn't work either, you will be unable to tick the box to enable sounds. If you get into a game and hit ctrl+s, you will get the "Sound is disabled" message over and over again.
The only way to get sounds back is to restart sc2.

Not a bug as it's not showing your current league on the profile page, but rather highest league achieved ever. Certainly confusing, but working as intended.
for some reason im lagging a bunch, which never happened before this patch (unless roommates were torrenting, which theyre not atm). basically, every 10-20 seconds it will freeze for 1 second and then speed up in a burst afterwards to catch up.

I saw this also however it recovered to normal looking textures after a short time. I believe this is due to the fact that only very low res textures have been loaded if you begin play before the patch is fully downloaded. As the full update is downloaded all textures will render correctly.
Not sure if someone mentioned this, the team current league (when you hover over the career league icons) and 1v1 current league in the profile page are flipped for me and my buddies.
Larvas block expansions now after a hatchery has been sniped and you want to put down another one. Not sure if this happened before the patch but I dont think so?
Not sure if others have pointed this out but if you're someone who does 1v1 customs, you can create a game and then open it to the public (daybreak most popular on NA and cloud kingdom on EU), and someone usually joins within seconds. It will then be standard 1.5 balance.
I was just playing a 2v2 and I couldn't see chats-- just typing, hitting enter, nothing was coming up, couldn't see what anybody else was saying.
Obviously in a 2v2 it's not the end of the world, but combine this with a bajillion other IMPORTANT in-game bugs, Blizzard's QA department seriously dropped the ball with this.
I can't help but think that the general instability and serious in-game bugs will affect pros going into ROG this weekend. As a software developer myself, part of me feels for Blizzard (bugs are inevitable) but on the other hand I can't also help but feel they have let down every single pro out there with this patch. It was simply released before it was thoroughly tested.
When you have a professional community around your game you can't force-update unstable software, and provide absolutely no option to downgrade or skip the update. It's pretty ridiculous.
The patch just hit the kr/tw server not too long ago and now I cannot log on to that server. Anybody know whats going on with that? Is there just a maintenance right now?
Not sure if this is a bug or some shitty new feature, but every time I make a new custom game I have to change game speed to faster from fast. Every single game, game speed change is required. You'd think it would default to either fastest or last selection, but whatev...
Also I can confirm the "leagues and ladders > friends" crash.

Bug - reports of 1.5 patch causing anxiety and prevents users from starting SC2 for fear that it is going to hose their installation, preventing user from being able to join games.
I think I'll wait until I see "1.51" or better blizzard explanations before I start SC2 again.
I absolutely hate how I have to scroll through game options in a custom game. They used to be all visible immediately, but now it looks horrible with how tiny it is. What the heck Blizz, that is just bad design right there.
On August 02 2012 03:43 AmericanUmlaut wrote: 14.
Just a few notes on this one. I had SC2 installed on C: with about 10Gb free, and it complained about space. My C: is a little 60Gb SSD so I had no real way of freeing up any more without... like.... deleting windows.
I ended up having to reinstall SC2 on a different drive ("E:"). It patched fine afterwards.
So, in my experience, it needs more than 10 gigs (!?), but is happy on a drive not labelled C:.

yea how the fuck is ASUS going to happen now..this is just terrible.
There are work arounds for the custom game issues and according to an email sent out to tournament organizers they're attempting to push out a hotfix to correct the issue by tonight, the rest of the issues aren't likely to affect the tournament unless they have installation problems.

• The scrollbar on the Replays page causes the Load, Delete, and Keep button text to shake. This issue is under investigation.
This has been confirmed in the blizzard thread.

I have one more question so I will just ask all three here.
1. So is it safe to ladder or not? Will you lose points for winning? 2. These crazy weird ridiculous terrible bugs...they are ONLY for customs, so if that is the case ladder games and single player vs AI are fine? 3. What about to other tournaments like TSL4 and ASUS ROG?
Has anyone else run into the issue where you're frantically pressing "g" to change your gateways to warpgates and the camera focus starts jumping around and some of your gateways mysteriously have stalkers and sentries queued up..?

1) I believe it's safe to ladder, from what I've heard the people who lost large amounts of points on a win all appear to be players who were recently demoted from diamond, because of the difference in bonus pool between diamond and anything below, their first game after the changes resulted in a points readjustment.
2) There have been no reports of it affecting ladder maps so far, and it only affects some customs and even those customs that are affected can be made to launch with the current patch by book marking them and then creating them using Starcraft > Custom Game > Create Custom Game and selecting My Bookmarks from the map filter drop down.
3) Tournaments will hopefully be minimally affected because as stated in question 2, it only affects certain maps, and you can work around the issue.
Ive been gone for a week and Im installing the patch now Im at the optimizing stage in the install but it's stuck at 0%, refuses to budge Am I doing something wrong or..?
after re-setting all my graphics settings in Variables.txt i'm still having memory issues and my comp is running way hotter than usual, in addtion I'm getting random crashes when navigating around Battle.Net
everyone seems to have a slight lag in the beginning of a game, I checked a few matchhistories and EVERYONE builds his first worker in second 2-4 and not second 0-1.... if you don't believe me check the timer right after the game starts or check a couple of matchhistories of people you have added.. this is a big thing and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. can anyone confirm?

I thought it was important to mention that Blizzard has posted a workaround for this. I cannot personally confirm this workaround.
4.) Some games appearing in the “Join Game” list of the “Custom Games” menu on the StarCraft II side of the client will cause that game to be played using an older balance. As a temporary work around please start lobbies from the “Create Game” page.
You have to wonder... did this patch improve anything? I mean they've been doing this instead of working on balance. The UI wasn't great before but it worked. Now it feels less intuitive, but still fine, it's just an UI after all...however, all the lag and other issues, the poor profiles. Gee. Talk about pulling a stinker.
Laddering seems fine for me so far. But people have been complaining about lag a lot, I put that down to people starting games without checking their graphic settings. But it makes me wonder, did the community call for this sc2 1.5 overhaul? Literally this feels like sc 1.5 not sc2 v. 1.5
I hope this language bug finally lets me change the language without needing to use a damn relocalizer with missing text. It pisses me off that Blizzard thinks everyone in a region speaks the same language.

Removing the old client and some additional files (programs you do not use for example) should do the job. Also try Start > Run > cleanmgr to remove some temporary files.
I'm unable to click the General, Arcade, Strategy, and Teams chat in their respective pages. The buttons are grayed out and says "This region does not have a channel for your currently selected language." I can join the chatrooms through the chat list though, but this small problem kinda bothers me.
Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem, but everyone I ask says they can use those buttons just fine.

Balance team and UI team are probably completely separate. Whatever David Kim, Browder, and friends do with balance has nothing to do with whatever the UI team is doing with their stuff. Different teams work on different stuff, as simple as that.
And the engineers wanted to implement streaming as well as better graphics at no cost to performance, but they didn't test this extensively enough to succeed.
And people have been clamoring for a better custom games system since too many low-quality UMS games cluttered up the front pages of the old system. The new system is a great improvement, but I do agree that they dropped the ball when they tried to change the rest of the UI outside of the Arcade.

Okay, I've been through all the new posts since last night and have updated/added the list of bugs accordingly. Evidently Blizzard intends to push out a hotfix tonight, when that shows up I'd really appreciate if people could test issues they've had and post here if they've been resolved by the hotfix.
If I've missed something important, please repost it, I'm trying to get everything into the OP, but it's possible I missed a post somewhere. Thanks everyone for the information, especially those who have posted their workarounds.

Could you ever start building a Probe at 00:00, or would it just list as 00:01? Regardless, in one of my 1.5 games me and my opponent started workers at 00:02 and 00:01, respectively. Seems fine?
I don't think it affects everybody.
Regarding Elfi, I saw at least one game in his history where it was 00:03, and also in his games from last week (i.e., nog patch 1.5) he usually starts the Probe at 00:04. Perhaps he's just a bit slow on that >_>

Games starting late for one or both players has been a problem prior to 1.5. I know because it's been discussed before on TL, and also because I have personally experienced it. If someone wants to go through a game history and check the worker build times for the last ten games before 1.5 hit and the first ten games after the patch, then that would be useful information, but barring actual information of that nature, I'm just going to assume this is an ongoing problem that is getting noticed because people are hypersensitive to bugs at the moment.

If you don't have any bugs that actually make laddering impossible, I don't see why you wouldn't. Points are meaningless, and Blizzard will probably retroactively fix them in any case. The in-game bugs like weird pathing are a pain, but they're not so huge, and they affect both players equally. The only bug that seems game-changing to me is the one that prevents Zerg from replacing a Hatchery if a Larva crawls up after the old Hatchery is destroyed, and even that you can work around by building and cancelling units, so it's unlikely to cost you a game.
as cosmetic bug: in a chat with someone else prepatch you had different colours for you and people you are chatting with ( so you could see right away what was written by you and what by someone else. also you could see right away if someone replied to your message). in 1.5 you see the same colour regardless of who is writing

The performance is actually a BUG.. I just got 1 fps for a whole game iwouldve won otherwise. And i had no other programs on background, after restarting game it works normally again.. BLIZZARD ACTUALLY JUST SCREWED ME OVER.. so yeah ty for making sc2 but please get some ferickin beta testers already...
Gotta love how a 2 year old game plays like it's still in beta. It's hard enough motivating myself to play SC2 these days without having to deal with this kind of nonsense.
I just don't understand. This patch had months of "effort" put into it. I even heard there was internal beta testing. Yet for a UI/slight in game graphical change, there are just as many bugs as the first beta launch of wings of liberty. How can they screw up the game so drastically with a single patch they had forever to work on/test? I mean some things are so obvious that I noticed it in my first ladder game (larva blocking hatch placement and bugged worker pathing). It's clear their testing was not very in-depth.
(Just in case it matters : I'm in Tokyo, usually playing on the European server. Using MaxOS 10.6)
Any battle.net website seems unreachable from here. So no access to the battle.net forums, not access to whatever Customer Service mentioned in the bug window of the patch. My game just won't start at all.

As watching replays via SC2 client's replay browser seems working fine, you might mean watching replays by launching them e.g. from desktop? For this you have to use SC2Switcher.exe that can be found from support directory: [path to sc2]\Support\SC2Switcher.exe
For me on Win7 the SC2 updater had messed the paths in win registry and I had to manually fix them. The updater had used mixed slashes & backslashes (/ & \) as directory separators in the path (should be \). You might want to check the registry key [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Blizzard.SC2Replay\shell\open\command]. But it is not recommended to edit the win registry if you do not know what you are doing (you may also need to check other keys, search for sc2replay). Also as a cosmetic issue they have removed the icon for replay files (only the main sc2 icon remains).
Do published maps work for anybody else? I can't see any of mine since the patch even after re-publishing them (they appear on the list in the editor, I can download and upload them but none list on battle.net =| as if I had none. Also all my bookmarks got deleted except the blizzard made maps...
edit: nvm, aparently have 2 bookmark lists and 2 published map lists, 1 more arcade and 1 for custom games. >.> So custom games is for blizzard only maps now? =\
This is just what I've found, it's not discounting what's already known by Blizzard or listed here.
1) 4v4 and 3v3 are showing up as double entries in Career Summary.
2) On Mac, choosing 'Show' on a replay or folder sometimes opens up and empty folder in the Finder, however you can still copy a file to it that shows up on the client.
3) 'Create Party' sometimes deletes the name of certain friends on your friends list, specifically ones you are currently having a conversation with.
4) Text entered in a channel or PM window no longer appears as white; this may have been an aesthetic decision but makes it harder to tell when you have written something.
5) Mousing over 'Show More' in open games replaces the words with 'Text'
6) Match History seems to have lost its golden trophy and skull icons to designate wins and losses.
7) Mousing over Career icons on the Profile page yields very different results than are displays, and the designations of 'Top 8,' 'Top 25' have been removed in favor of the generic 'Top 100' icon.
8) There is now no way to find total league games won, as well as FFA, cooperative, and custom. There was no reason to remove this.
9) In customizing the 'Quick Nav,' bringing up 'My Leagues' results in a hang.
10) When viewing another players' profile through a ladder or score screen, there is no 'Back' button.
11) Recent Achievements has been completely wiped.

Nope, if you miss a season (say you play till season 1, 2012 and you start playing season 3, 2012) normally you have to play the 5 placement matches again.
For me, it's not a bug, but a fail : the profile page is bad. Give us back our 2v2 / 3v3 / 4v4 statistics.
2v2 / 3v3 / 4v4 aren't just "teamgames", their are 3 differents mods that must keep separated.
I already knew that blizzard didn't care about 2v2 / 3v3 / 4v4, but putting them all as "TEAM" completly proove they don't care about teamgames, only 1v1 is important to their eyes, while I love 2v2 and don't really care about 4v4; it's completly different, so plz, give us back separated stats in the profile page for fuck sake !

I have to agree really, it's quite reasonable to expect a game like SC2 not to have this many serious issues. I understand things can break in a patch, but I don't think it's insane to be angry about it (obvious exception to people just saying f u blizzard, that isn't productive for anything).
Also, I really think it's not unreasonable to ask for them to revert it, unless it's technically impossible or something. Just revert it, and then work out the bugs, and then try it again. I had a clan war yesterday that the ace match had to be restarted 1/2 way through as we realized it was a previous version of the game.
There isn't any way to play custom blizzard ladder maps correctly still, only the MLG/GSL versions, correct?

The game isn't less "hardcore" if there are more elements that catter to casual players. "Hardcore" gamers will play the "hardcore" part of the game.
Also, NOBODY noticed that you can see the total number of games played, even if you are not masters? I thought everyone was bitching about not being able to see it a year ago.

I don't understand why people like him are getting banned. The Blizzard really failed with this patch, it has about 30 bugs (which are already known), and 90% of people don't like the new interface. Making people silent won't solve any problems. They should just wake up.
I have to agree really, it's quite reasonable to expect a game like SC2 not to have this many serious issues. I understand things can break in a patch, but I don't think it's insane to be angry about it (obvious exception to people just saying f u blizzard, that isn't productive for anything).

First game I noticed the guy I am playing is decent and find out hes plat. Win the game and am placed in plat after a single 1v1 rather then having to redo all 5 placements as I should.
Here is my profile showing only a single game played at all. lol.
Hey man isn't that normal? If you ever gone through your 5 placement matches you only need 1 game in the "new" season to get placed in to a league no matter of the time that's gone by since you last played?
Nope, if you miss a season (say you play till season 1, 2012 and you start playing season 3, 2012) normally you have to play the 5 placement matches again.
This is correct. I should have been made to play 5 games since it had been so long since my last game. Not too upset since I was placed in plat but I still wanted a chance at getting placed into diamond.
Is anyone experiencing lag after joining into game? If i now post patch go ladder -> I find game load map and have lag for first 2-4 seconds then its ok. I dont even see the lag but i basically start the game 5 seconds in + oponent has lag because of me -> annoying for both of us. Anyone had this and fixed it?
edit: this happens even when i host game vs ai. its so annoying
after 1.5 the game gets frozen from time to time for 5-7 seconds (it appears like the pc is unresponsive during this time). This is not lag, clearly some engine issue. Happens mostly at the start of the game of when changing the the view with minimap.

I am silver league fyi.
Also, total career games = AWESOME!
You really misunderstood people. You could always see total games, that's not statistics, that's nothing. People were bitching because you couldn't see how many loses in 1v1(!) you've got below master. Nothing has changed, you can see total games entirely, not in 1v1. (Doesn't affect me because I'm master, but I still find this issue very disturbing).

Hi guys. I got the problem with 1.5 patch. It didnt install yet and when I try to login it is what I see: Battlenet is temporarily unavailable the game will try to restart. What can I do? Is there any websitefrom I can upload this patch or I have to reinstall the game?
i was ok with all the things they did...but now i noticed that no matter how i configure my graphics settings i cant get my pylon radius to glow blue.now its just transparent and its utterly hard to distinguish the radius now. i dont get why would they do this, since this causes a lot of protoss players great inconvenience...
After the patch SC2 opens this loading screen which says "Updating setup files..." Well, it downloads over half of it and then just stucks and won't move. Has someone else had this problem? And does it make a difference that I had the colour mod and Brood War sounds?
I don't even want to play sc2 again right now because of this patch T;T. Is it possible to get the same graphics as before patch after patching the game? Will the modified hotkeys stay the same? I really wanna play sc2 but I'm worried with this weird graphic patch, how is it even possible for such a company to have that many bugs after a patch? (I know there are a lot of modifications but still, bugs testers are there for a reason -;-)
I was wondering if anyone else is getting weird looking health bars? I think there are tiny artifacts showing up around the border, I think its probably due to my video card not well optimized or something. I'm running an x4 960t and ati 7850 not a top tier machine but not weak by any means either, but sc2 is a nvidia favored game.

Ding, ding ding, we have a winner!
At least, I assume that's the reason some kind mod has come in and started adding color to this little thread of ours. I made this for the very specific purpose of cataloguing the known errors and whatever fixes we can come up with to help people get through the period before the bugs are fixed. As I said in the OP, if you want to bitch and moan about Blizzard, I don't mind, but please do it in a different thread!

This doesn't sound like a bug, but there do appear to be a lot of changes in how the settings work. I need to do a bit of experimenting myself, because I always played with a combination that gave me really pretty graphics but intentionally had the settings tweaked to give me the dashed line for the Pylon radius because I find it easier to see. If you figure out how to get the graphical effect you want, could you post a screenshot and the settings you use to achieve it? I assume that there will be a thread soon discussing how to get different graphical effects with the new settings, but in the meantime that might be helpful to some other players.

This sounds like the issue that comes from not having enough space on your hard drive - see issue #14 in the OP.

Yes it was activated, and i tried switching it on and off twice :/
Regarding TheBatman's post earlier about the buggy Roach pathing, I'm confirmed that the replay shows a clear pathing bug (the Roach flips completely out and spins in circles instead of moving down an unoccupied ramp). I've updated the OP accordingly.
I just noticed that I cannot see Pylon radius in replays. It doesn't matter if I have vision of one player or the other, and I've tried a number of graphical settings. Can anyone confirm that it's not just me?

That can't be the problem because there is over 80gt space. :B
Replay folder is now organized so that folders and replay files have the same exact icon regardless (they show what they really are if you hover over them). This actually makes it pretty difficult to navigate replays requiring more than a glance in many cases.

I don't think it affects everybody.

I have exactly same problem
Okay, I've seen another person or two mention this in other threads, too, that's good enough for me. Added.
Loading replays played on earlier patches made my sc2 crash one or two times so far. Not every single time though. Anyone expirienced something similar?
Just to add to the existing accounts, I've been having not necessarily framerate issues, but lag-spike issues throughout games. So I'll be running at 50FPS then have it tank to under 10, for example. These spikes occur both in Windows where I normally have over 100FPS and in Linux where it stays in the 40-50 range. There was someone on the BNet forums suggesting that it was happening on the first time something new was build that hadn't been built since starting the SCII client would cause this. For example, the first barracks would cause it, but not the second, the first time you see an enemy stalker, but not the second time, etc. but haven't seen any supporting evidence for it as yet, all I know is it's unplayable like this.
EDIT: To add, I usually play on medium with ultra textures. I've tried ultra, medium with ultra textures, medium with medium textures and low, and it happens in all cases.
Not sure if it's a problem in game, but when I load and create maps in the editor the cliffs are all screwed up, with parts of the low-ground terrain extending up in weird triangular ridges that cover the actual cliff texture and just look bad.
Edit: Never mind, just a changed setting which can be fixed by toggling show hidden terrain cells off.
If you exit a replay and then are offered to join a party (eg for 2v2) SC2 will freeze for 10-20 seconds and then the offer appears. This doesnt happen to just me, all my friends report the same thing.
If after exiting a replay you click Single Player and then receive the offer there is no delay.
- Battle.net is showing the wrong league Lots of people are having the issue that their league is being shown as one higher or one lower than their actual league. This seems to be purely cosmetic, though. It's possible this is due to ranks getting switched around between 1v1, 2v2, etc.
Seems to be fixed, at least on EU.
It's not a bug, more a kind of a bugfix, i think, but also it's not mentioned in the patch notes: as a terran u can now build scvs in all of your CCs, OCs and PFs without having to tab through the different types, when u've ctrled them together.
I think I am loading the game + starting a few seconds late and I am getting pretty bad spikes once a minute that last for 1-2 seconds. Never had these issues before 1.5 and I am pretty lost on what to do...
i'm the only one who can't not play on the KR Server? I mean i have two SC servers NA and KR since the new patch i'm not able to play in KR its says that i need a permission language packed from blizzard...
another bug is that i didn't get points after a ladder win. fyi dudes it says 1v1 in the ladder board, so that is the proof that it's not a custom and it was 6 minutes ago, it says win, but no extra points...

Multiple installations are not officially supported so keep that in mind, what has happened in patch 1.5 is that the game writes out which localization files it's expecting in your user-wide starcraft 2 variables.txt located in the My Documents > Starcraft 2 folder in the form of:
localeidassets=enUS localeiddata=enUS
If you want to play on KR, you'd need to change that to one of these depending on which license you have:
Good luck! They're hopefully adding proper region switching in time for HotS like the Diablo 3 client has, but until then you'll have to mess around with that user-wide setting each time you want to swap servers, having 2 clients is no longer sufficient.

Multiple installations are not officially supported so keep that in mind, what has happened in patch 1.5 is that the game writes out which localization files it's expecting in your user-wide starcraft 2 variables.txt located in the My Documents > Starcraft 2 folder in the form of:
localeidassets=enUS localeiddata=enUS
I can't even start StarCraft II anymore on OS X-- it just immediately stops responding. When I force quit, I get this error. Other people are reporting workarounds but they're not working for me. I still have Windows on my gaming machine at home but I like playing 2v2s on OS X at the office!
The game is also reporting my league incorrectly-- funnily enough in TWO different ways. I'm 1v1 Diamond, but in my in-game profile, I am listed as 1v1 Masters, but in my web profile, I'm listed as 1v1 Platinum!
It almost sounds like Blizzard was the victim of a cyber attack that scrambled their database.... I'm sure if that was true they WOULDN"T DARE tell us about it
I think i'll wait another week, or year to patch... HotS will be out by then, no?
Since the patch my hellions don't burn zerglings properly, that is the burning death animation for zerglings doesn't play when it should. Other burning deaths, for example infestors, do play properly. I've had a look around the options menu and can't see anything obvious to fix it, e.g. made sure the 'reduced violence' option is not enabled. Anyone else have this problem or a fix?
I also got something that said "the folder you selected cannot be used. Please select a different folder," after patching and allowing changes to my game, SC2 is on a separate hard disk from my OS, will that make any difference?

Thanks for the report. Could you please check again now and let me know if it still shows no points? Because I've often had games that showed no point change immediately after I played, and the points were then shown a while later, this might just be that. If they're still not showing up for you, I'll add the bug.

Hi guys. It took few days when this patch 1.5 came out I have a problem. My account Is still crushed and I cant login use my account. i got only info about that few accounts may be crushed etc. But is there any way to do sth with it?
well...there's at least some good news, I have tested some Versus AI games and it seems like the larva blocking Hatchery is fixed...so that's good news.
I've been investigating on performance problem. First : there is no performance difference between ultra and lowest settings.
Second : I checked CPU and GPU load and temp to find the bottleneck To make fast : it seem to me that the game only runs one one cpu core.
Here are two screenshots (out of process explorer) of the Sc2 process.
When the timeline start, I am on windows, and the replay is paused just before a huge battle in 4V4, with ultra graphics. The first peak is due to switching back into sc2. Then I let the game in pause during the flat part following the peak.
We can see that neither the CPU nor the GPU and neither memory are saturated or overloaded.
But the odd point is that the CPU load is exactely 25 %. My processor is a core2 quad q6600.
So it seems to me that the game is executed only one thread at a time, and my processor is not powerfull enough to run the game on one core.
Can you run the same tests ?
Concerning big freezes : I noticed that they happen just before playing a sound. I ran MS defrag, and it was much better : shorter freezes, faster interface (login, switch screens).
I also noticed that the first game load is faster than in 1.4.
The point is that all dying sound happen in the first battle, so each time there is a new unit in a battle, I get a lag.
I would like to post this on the US battle.net forum, but I cannot, since I am on the EU battle.net. If you think this repport worth it, feel free to link (or even cut/paste it) on US battle.net forum.
-- Delete cache folder -- Some people on battle.net forums have solved their performance problems with deleting their cache folder. This can't hurt and should be very easy to try.
When I am runing the chrome browser and watching streams in parallel (such as ASUS Rog) on my 2nd monitor and also have a chat-client running which needs Java support, my CPU suddenly begins to spike at 100% every 2 seconds. The system practically freezes and SC2 is frozen as well.
When I shutdown Chrome SC2 is running fine - I have no issues at all. When I run chrome with streams + chat everything is fine as well. Only in combination my system begins to go crazy. This is IMO a result of Patch 1.5 as well.
I am running a 3.00 GHz iCore 7 and 8gigs of Ram with a 460GTX - 64bit Windows Home 7 Premium. Anyone who can reproduce this?

This is really interesting information. You're saying that you get no performance increase by switching to lowest settings at all? I don't think anyone has reported that so far (it's certainly not my experience, my performance ranges from about 130 fps to about 15 depending on my settings).
Is anyone else experiencing something like this?
Edit: Also, could you add an explanation of how to display the process-specific CPU and GPU data? I'm not actually sure how to do that on Windows 7.

was playing a tvp 1v1 on ladder just now and I was doing a drop on the protoss base - he had just popped a colossus. The game started to freeze / stutter when I performed the drop command on the medivacs (and the sound that plays from it).
It was pretty awful. and again the lag started when his colossus came to defend the drop (soon as the lazer sound played the game froze and fps lagged)
I think it does indeed have something to do with sound files as, not to brag but, I have a $8,000 pc that maxes out every game known to me with zero frame drops. This shouldn't be happening in SC2....

Here : - Download process explorer, a soft from MS labs here - unzip and run it - run sc2 - switch to process explorer and look at the bottom of the window : you should see sc2.exe, double click on it and a window will pop - look each tab, and you will have the two on the screen shot I got - to take a screen shot of a selected window : alt + print screen
Now look at the cpu usage value : if it's equal to 100/number of cores then I think this is suspicious. (however, I don't know how to interpret hyper threading)
I have read some posts suggesting to remove the cache, which I have not done yet.
I also investigating driver problem by removing all the nvidia drivers (graphics, sound, network ..), and reinstalling only the latest (minimalistic : only drivers), with no noticeable impact.
I would be very interested in a tool that can record sc2 fps and informations such as CPU/GPU load, freq, temp and memory usage.
Sometimes if you press F3 for an Ai game and double click the map from the selection it goes into a loading mode and never comes out of it stopping you from doing anything else
Quikfix - load a save game and come out of it that way BUT it does it again if you try to make a new game

Could be a graphic's bug maybe ? Dunno.
Yeah, I understand that there are three rallys, and Zerg usually has two. I just don't understand how that comes to be in a game.

Issue a move command for a corruptor and shift queue the "morph broodlord" command and the corruptor will move to the specified location before starting to morph.
Issue a move command for an overlord and shift queue the "morph overseer" command and the overlord will move to the specified location before starting to morph.
Do the same thing for banelings and the result suddenly changes. Lings morph into banelings instantenously on the spot regardless if you try to shift queue or not.
There is no logical explanation as to why "Morph Banelings" should behave differently from morphing anything else.
I'd appreciate it if you could list it as "general bugs present since before patch 1.5".

i can confirm lalush's post. i do that every single game, forgetting that queue command doesn't work on baneling morph (like, for example, shift-queuing movement in front of opponent base -> morph there to save time is not executable cause bane morph starts as soon as you press its key)

I'd say a not at all insignificant percentage of awkward baneling morph positionings in the history of the GSL can be directly attributed to this issue.

1. yes (alternateLowTextures=1 set it to 0 in variables file ) 2. yes ( only graphics change , everything else will stay the same that way you set in "old" sc2 ) 3. Not everyone got bugs after patch Why you are worried ? Dont understand that..
Lol why am I worried? Okay I installed this patch and as expected it was the most utter crap patch I've ever seen in a game lol. The graphics were weird, I changed it and now it's kinda ugly but more easier to see than the shiny effects. Problem is that it's laggy at every fight and sometimes not in fight, impossible to play at all despite low settings + high end PC. It was expected but I didn't think that the lags would be this bad lol. Plus it randomly goes at windows??
...So I clicked find match on 2v2 in an arranged team, and it began to re-download the maps (it does this every new patch it seems?). After the download completed, the searching for opponents was gone. None of us canceled or disconnected or logged out at any time. Then in our match history there is a loss (Upon trying to view details of the match there is an error).
I understand that there was a change where logging out after an opponent has been found gives you a loss, but it shouldn't happen otherwise.
Edit: Oh yeah, does the ladder section when changing an F1-F5 menu interface hotkey never show up for anyone else?
Not sure if these are just me, but the windowed mode is pretty glitchy and does not always allow me to tab out of SC.
Also on your main profile where it shows "highest league attained" and then current league, the current league is glitched and not always correct. Many of my awful friends appear in diamond/masters because they've been there for 1 minute of their lives, while if you go through the effort (feels that way with the new UI) of checking their actual 1s rank they're rank 90 platinums.

Sorry, my post obviously wasn't clear. I mean that I agree that it's a bug that you can't shift-queue Baneling morph, and I know that it's an issue (I offrace Zerg, so it has screwed me up. It is the fact that it's still in the game after all this time that I meant to say is bullshit. I just don't think it's necessary to add it to the OP because the purpose of this thread is to catalogue bugs that were introduced by the 1.5 patch.
Your idea to add a "prior to 1.5" bug list is a good one, though - it's added now. Thanks!

I was playing around with this, and figure out that Ctrl+o is the shortcut (on a PC) for opening the friends list. I would guess that pigmanbear is experiencing a bug where the Ctrl key (or the Mac equivalent for that shortcut) is getting stuck. That happens to me sometimes in-game, and if I just tap the Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys a few times it seems to fix itself. Maybe try that?

There is a discussion of this error here: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/6232303960, that might help you. I also found a German-language discussion of the same error for Diablo 3, in which a blue poster said that the error can be caused by the firewall blocking the program from accessing the Internet, or by IE being in offline mode (which makes no sense to me).

"Possible fix to the lags. I am no expert but I think the problem is shader generation. Shaders are generated anew with every new version of the client. Try to follow these steps:
1. Delete the folder c:\Program Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Starcraft II. (Win 7/Vista users) 2. Start SCII and set everything on max (will ensure the most complex stuff gets rendered) 3. Find some sort of "UnitTestMap" in arcade and run it. 4. Create every unit and building of every race at least once. If you can, use every ability of every unit for every race at least once. This should (I hope) generate shaders files for those units/buildings/abilities and save them to HDD. (You should get minor client freeze every time you generate a unit for the first time, but not after that) 5. You can now revert the settings to low. 6. Play some open public games to see if this fixed the problem.
It kinda fixed it for me. I no longer have laggs whenever something new appears in a match. Let me know pls if this works for you guys.
Addendum: I firmly believe that the concept of this is utterly wrong. It requires the user to play games until every possible game element was rendered at least once, only then does the client become stable. The prettier the gfx, the more complex, the more problems this is going to cause in the future and for lower end users I cant imagine how this feels. Cant you programmers figure out a way pre-make the shaders files and have them streamed to the user on update? "
After I did this, I no longer have huge FPS drops/freezes. Still minor lag here and there, but that is only miliseconds and I can micro once more!

GPU: Nvidea GT 540M
RAM: 8 GB
FPS before: Could run the game flawlessly on all low with ultra textures. No drops, not even in 4v4.
FPS now: Getting drops to ~30 FPS in mid-game situations and far lower in the end game, almost impossible to micro with the same settings. Also the game feels very "spongy" now.
You know that fps drops have nothing to do with your computer configuration ?
Its because of new sc2 straming system. This thread make no sense.
you are wrong and make no sense
the streaming system is for people who want to play before they have downloaded all the content
Also in the patch notes it says that it is more vigorous with preloading of textures etc this seems to contradict it ... so it seems like they havent reserved as much memory or something for new units so it slows down whilst allocating or soemthing ... i dunno ... but you are wrong.
Its slower for me also ... but i am highest everything. My extra ao and aliasing settings cause a lot of slowdown now
Not true , you stream data even if you finish download to 100% .

Thanks for the report. Could you please check again now and let me know if it still shows no points? Because I've often had games that showed no point change immediately after I played, and the points were then shown a while later, this might just be that. If they're still not showing up for you, I'll add the bug.

That's actually pretty hilarious ... oh, Blizzard ... is "o" some new binding in this patch, or is this some completely arbitrary randomness?
Its not entirely random. Its similar key binding to friends list in d3. Quite frustrating tho. 9/10 i have to type "0" instead of "o"
Heres a bug I dont think anyone reported yet, when you attempt to view all friends from someone on your friends list it changes the id of the friends that you share on your list; also if they are on another game like d3 or wow it automatically adds a non real id version of themselves on your friendslist for sc2.

It happens literally every game. Can't upload a replay now I'll try later when I'm home. But seriously every protoss on here can test it. Someone leaves go to his base and kill pylons. All his buildings will look powered.
Killing pylons when both players are active DOES power down buildings. Have not tried this in 2v2 or other games.
I have found that Flash sometimes locks the video card, so that other applications cannot use it. This will only cause SC2 to crash on startup, and does not account for any freezes that may occur.
I lost all hope in blizzard. I'm sorry but I'm done. The PTR / Beta for this was up for almost 2 months and the game right now has as many bugs as the beta did. It's obvious blizzard doesn't care about one of the most influential games in PC gaming (starcraft). I wish you all good day but I'm leaving and I'm not coming back.

I have had this issue as well! Also using Chrome, while watching a stream on twitch.tv. I didn't have the stream's chat open, though. I thought it was my computer, since it caused a blue-screen. To be specific: I'd alt-tabbed out to mute the stream when I found someone to play with, while loading a cooperative game. ETA: My video card is a notebook, hybrid AMD card, if it matters...
I'm not sure it's a bug, and it's purely an aesthetic one if it is, but the warp gate cooldown is harder to see now. Like this: + Show Spoiler +
instead of the old version where the "past" and "still to come" parts of the cool down were highlighted differently.
Custom games seem to be buggy compared to ladder games.
I played some to practice with a friend and noticed couple of bugs: - Fungal was not an AOE spell and had to be cast on a unit - ITs couldn't be dropped onto units (shift clicking IT cast then left clicking on a unit) - ITs could not be cast while burrowed - Infestors also had everything, I did not have to research things like Neural Parasite.
I believe a lot of these bugs were caused by blizzard incorrectly resolving their code (they must have branched off beta code to make the UI changes). One of the reasons I think this may be the case is because Blizzard copyright is set for 2010 (check mid-bottom before you log-in). Not to mention the roach supply bug.

How long ago did you play this custom? There was meant to be a hotfix applied that fixed this.
A Blizzard mod told me I should uninstall the game and reinstall it, so I went ahead to do that and the downloader crashed twice, downloading at a speed that would have the game fully downloaded in about 18 hours each time. AND it displayed "80kb/s" as the max download rate, when I have a roughly 2.5mb/s connection. : | While making youtube videos, webpages, etc. not load.
What the fuck. :|
And no responses on forums, so basically I can't play SC2 anymore.

Today? weird that the hotfix didn't download for me...
It appears as if some of my custom hotkey profiles have disappeared. Before the patch I had two custom hotkey profiles - one for terran, one for zerg. Before the patch I had the zerg profile active as I had been playing zerg. But now that I have patched the game my terran hotkey profile has disappeared and all that remains is my zerg profile. I had a quite a few custom hotkeys and it has been a real pain trying to redo them all, especially when I forget one and then when I go to use it in a game nothing happens. I'm not sure if this is a bug or I am just missing something really obvious here, but it's annoying me nonetheless.
46. Ladder wins report no points won So far reported only by a single player, if anyone can confirm this and provide any more information about this bug, please post!
I have gotten this, but possibly in a different form. I won at least two games in which the score screen showed "You have left the game" instead of, "You have won the game", or whatever it should be. I didn't pay attention to the points I did or didn't win. Unfortunately, I have no screenshots.

Also, I dunno if this is a bug (or trolling), but someone on B.net mentioned that Carrier behavior seemed to be slightly tweaked this time around. This might be worth a few tests to be sure.
I can't believe I haven't seen one of these threads yet. Apparently patch 1.5 changed the way carriers work for a little bit. 2 changes:
1. Interceptors flying area is reduced, meaning now they are more concentrated in a smaller area right above the target
2. Carrier can now deploy interceptors facing any direction, meaning much easier back and forth micro, just like in BW! before the patch carriers have to turn to the enemy before launching interceptors.
I think these changes are great, smaller flying area for interceptors draw less fire and omni-directional deployment makes carriers way smoother and more responsive. And it's good to see Blizzard trying to help carriers. Hope to see these changes making carriers viable in a pro level.
2 or 3 times now, in ladder games, ive experienced a bug with spine crawlers. It doesnt seem to happen often but seing as ive proabably uprooted/downrooted an unreasonable amount of spine crawlers lately (a lot of ZvP late late games) ive taken note of it, and it has never happend to me before this latest patch. What happens is, an uprooted spinecrawler will have the animation of a downrooted spine crawler. So, i click on it (thinking its a downrooted spine) and try to uproot it untill i realise that its a animation bug and that the spine actually already is uprooted. When i then give the bugged spine directions, as in a move command, the bug goes away and the animation from there on is correct.
I didnt pay too much attention to it in the games though (i only thought of it now when i read this bug thread) so i must add that, it could possibly have been the other way around, as in, an uprooted spine having the animation of a downrooted spine.
However, im 100% sure that a spine crawler animation bug happend, and it happend to me 2 or 3 times.
I'm not quite caught up on the last two pages of posts because I'm hosting an OSL viewing party this morning, but I've added a change log (thanks for the idea, Cokefreak!) and added two more bugs, plus the possible Flash hardware accelleration fix for the issue with running SC2 while a browser is running. I'll try to catch up with the rest of the thread tonight. Thanks again to everyone who's posting the issues they're having and fixes they've found.

#2 on the list isn't really a bug. It displays improperly, but you can still get to it. If you mouse over the list of options and use your mouse scroll wheel it will scroll down through all leagues. It is an inconvenience, but still works fine.

turn off the p2p downloading in the options to stop it raping your connection, theres no one to share with downloading the main game anyway.
ive encountered a bug but i dont know if its just my pc or if others can recreate the problem. playing the game on full screen windowed (not sure if relevent) if i tab out and open the task manager the game will freeze, my computer is fine and i can just alt f4 the game but it just stops responding to anything.
dont know if it is a bug or not, but with low graphic settings i cant see the pylon power field in replays. in game it's fine though. not a big issue of course but when u want to work on buildingplacement or something like this it's "a bit" annoying.
Achievements have been disabled on my EU account (won games vs IA are no longer counted). There is a post on blizzards french forums about that: http://eu.battle.net/sc2/fr/forum/topic/3429935249 StuXnet has completed all Starcraft Master achievements, but none was granted. His battle.net account shows that he hasn't won any round.
My Match History shows that a game that was played 40 minutes ago happened *after* the game that was played 35 Minutes ago. (Opponent left immediately)
I checked the list on the main page but didnt have time to read 20 pages. Has anyone reported that the little white boxes on Daybreak no longer break LOS if you put your OL's on them. Noticed when playing a game against a clan mate. Just checked the replay and noticed he didnt have an observer to spot the OL. It was just visible.
Ok, so as one of those nerds who insists on getting all the achievements, i had 90/800 FFA wins, and it reset my FFA wins with this patch, but i still have the 50 win icon... thats a huge frusterating bug..
Couple more bugs to report. Achievements are almost completely disabled for me. I tried insane AI achievements, starcraft master achievements, etc, and none of them are awarding. Glad I wasted an hour.
Also, I don't know if this is a bug or a REALLY REALLY shitty new change, but every single custom game starts in fast mode, not faster. You have to manually choose faster every game you create, it doesn't save.

Added (#49). If anyone has earned an achievement since the patch hit, could you please let me know? I'm not clear on whether the achievement system is working at all at the moment. I can confirm that at least some achievements are working for some people, since all of my 1v1 achievements are there, but I can't even figure out where the Starcraft Master achievements are hidden in the UI, so I'm not sure whether I still have those or not.

Am I understanding correctly that you're both Mac users? I don't have a problem with my ´ key, and I'm on a PC, and there is another PC user reporting that it's working for him. I just want to make sure you're both on Macs so that I know if I should put it in the OP as a Mac-specific issue.
Is anyone else having massive problems with custom games and people dropping since the patch? 80% of any 4v4 mod I play has one person dropping or lagging heavily right at the start, it's never been this bad pre-patch. I don't know if that can be fixed with better maps or something, but it sure is annoying.
I love your #21 by the way OP. I haven't actually hit any bugs so far but I don't play Zerg... Looks like there are some weird pathing issues with Larva. O.o

The Larvae blocking the hatchery thing might've been hotfixed. I was playing the night before last and it wasn't seeming to block any of my killed hatcheries. I noticed it on Ohana the previous day, but not on CK as mentioned. I don't know if it was a map thing, or if it only does it occassionally but it would be something to check into.

I've run into the pathing issue in a real game situation. Spawning in the top right of cloud kingdom, my lings when rallied out f my base would sometimes spawn and run all the way around my hatchery before running out of my base. It is quite bizarre.

It's been running like crap for me ever since the update. Whenever I'm in game, it hitches every time I hit enter to chat, and also does it sometimes when I make new buildings, make add-ons, make a new unit, and so on.
It ran flawlessly for me on any settings before, now it's just terrible.

"Targeted AoE attacks or abilities" sounds like the bug only appears if you target a single muta in a flock of mutas. For example focusing a Thor on a Muta in the middle of the mutas or using a Hunter Seeker Missile. Maybe also targeting with the Archon attack. Since Storm and Fungal are not targeted on units but on areas I think those abilities are fine. Can anyone confirm if I am right or wrong with my assumptions?
Seems like § key is bugged when you bind it as hotkey. You bind it and it works fine, but when you log out and log in again it changes it to different key like Ö.

Nice to see #43 noted, I've never experienced a game starting late before but under both Mac and Win clients since 1.5 I'm coming in 3-5 seconds later than my opponent every match, occasionally as high as 15 seconds.

Yuck. That sounds rotten. There have been one or two other reports of something where your account logs itself in and out over and over again, but nothing that matches exactly what you're saying. I'll add it to the OP, if anyone knows what's going on here or has experienced the same issue, please post with any information you can add. Thanks!
There's the replay, first one happens at 19:15, follow wesw's camera and you'll see he gives an attack command on the rightmost of the 2 marauders on screen. The thor reacts by just sitting tthere not shooting anything for about a second or so before wesw gives a command to attack the second marauder and the thor finally reacts.
Second possible bug, when I loaded this replay if you move the replay slider bar specifically to 19:10 while having your camera set to follow wesw's camera. My camera went crazy and reacted differently everytime I tried. Just spanning across the map while being zoomed out farther than is possible.
Know this isn't a bug, but I've just been getting ridiculous lag. TvZ is impossible, because any time you have an engagement it will lock up and you can't split.

It's in the same place as it was previously, on the login page. Login at your current region, then logout and the region button should appear.

edit: nvm had to start the EU client from the folder and patch it

I think you can load the client and then just wait for a while. I wish the UI would show streaming data information all the time, though - as far as I can tell, the only way to confirm that you're still loading files is to start a game and see it in the loading screen, at which point it's too late to stop having to play a game with data loading in the background.

I don't think I have ever been able to actively bind Esc to any function, but at least it used to work anyway to cancel things. Not anymore. But just because I doesn't work for me it doesn't mean it's like that for everyone, it doesn't work like that. For example I think am am free from many of the bugs listed here that bother other people.

I need more information about what's going on so that other people can confirm the bug. Like, do you have something peculiar about your setup? What layout do you use? Maybe you could post your hotkeys file, and I could try loading it myself and see if I can replicate the problem you're having?
It says I'm diamond 1v1. I'm currently plat and I've never even been diamond. In 4v4 I'm diamond, which the icon indicates, but the hover thingy says I'm currently plat.
Wow Blizzard really dropped the ball here. This seems like something that could be caused by a problem with their version control system. Did the suddenly sack all their Q/A people? Maybe they are just on holiday though.
I was experiencing the language pack issue having both sea na and TW/KO installed on my machine. The listed work around didnt work for me. I also was unable to access my sea acount (the server option just didnt show up) I was able to acheive a work around by using a relocaliser which has been updated for 1.5 which might be worht mentioning in the solutions list.

It is a complex patch which changes a lot stuff, most of it under the hood including file streaming support and an upgrade of the rendering engine. Just because some bugs came through doesn't mean that they had no Q&A. Most bugs of patch 1.5 are circumstantial. The important thing is that Blizzard supports the product with nice upgrades like a revamped UI and better ground textures for "low" detail settings (over 2 years after launch!)
That is not a bug but a new "feature". They heavily reduced the size of the match history in v. 1.5. Only 100 matches (any type) can fit in match history (checked this from several profiles last week). If you play 50 games per day, then the history will be full in two days
If I remember correctly pre-beta two and half years (or more) ago they were talking that couple of thousand matches would fit in. Reality was much less. But now they have reduced it only 100

Has anyone else had this? I'm trying to actually test these things or get someone to confirm that they're reproducible before I add them to the list so that it doesn't get packed full of stuff that only one person is experiencing (it's hard enough to read all the bugs as is). I'll take a look tonight after work if my wife doesn't go into labor and bring my son unto this world, in which case she probably won't let me play Starcraft for a couple days.
Update: Blizzard has put patch 1.5.1 up on TW/KR, presumably it will hit the other servers over the coming week. I've marked the affected bugs as "Reported fixed in 1.5.1", you can find them by searching for that text in the OP. If you continue to have any of the problems after the patch hits your server, please let me know.
I believe there is a bug.. but I don't have screenshots for it atm. Bug is when colossi shoot at rocks under fog of war, you can see them. I just played a game where I saw like 7-8 colossi shooting at some rocks and saw the rocks die. Don't care enough to find the replay now to get a screenshot. Going to bed.

"some bugs"? Don't you mean tons of bugs. And yes it is nice that they finally included some of the features that should had been in Battle.Net from the start. It being complex doesn't cut it as an excuse. World of warcraft has been patched and updated for just about everything, they have even replaced most of the old grahpics engine by now. The amount of bugs that made it in this patch is really terrible.

I'm pretty sure neither of these are actually bugs. The cooldown animation for sure seems to be intentional, though I agree that it's not that nice to look at.

I've got this too. I tried using R1CH's relocaliser to get back to SEA to fix this, since it only happened when I tried to change regions ingame from SEA to NA, but it was no good. Hoping for a fix soon :S
just tried to log into starcraft and keep getting a loop back into the update patch it seems exactly the same thing that to me in Diablo 3 is happening to starcraft 2 thanks blizzard keep fucking up my games for me first diablo now starcraft 2 guess i just play bf3 and don't bother with blizzard anymore
I am still shown as a diamond 1v1 player, while i haven't played my placement this season or got any league above gold ever. Edit: EU server so no bug fixes yet i think. Also at least double the time needed for the game to start
The worker pathing in the video is actually not a bug - the probe is using the gravitational pull of the nexus to propel itself to its destination more quickly.
So I solved my previous issue and managed to play some games. However, this time around I open SC2, it sends me to the patch window and then it says that it can't download an essential file and tells me that I should check my internet connection. Which I do and it's fine. Anyone got any ideas what it might be?

Could you say how you solved the problem you were having? I'll add the solution to the OP in case anyone else has had the same problem.
Basically what I did was I updated a bunch of Windows update things I had been neglecting, rebooted and then my firewall prompted me for the program (I had previously set it it to accept all the SC2 programs however) and then it allowed me to update it just fine.
I played my first 1.5 game today, and I can't see the fog of war! It is visible on the minimap, but on the main screen it is like the entire map is revealed. Enemy buildings and units are still hidden behind the fog though, so it is not like a maphack.
Edit: This would be bug #34, although I have a NVidia Quadro FX 3500M, not a Geforce 6800

I can upload the replay if needed.
The Probes don get the weapon upgrades that's always been that way
An in the case of the idle worker, the scv has always been there, iirc that's because of the UI style, but i would be nice if they changed it to the way you are saying

Yeah, both of these have been this way since the beginning. The SCV thing is silly, but it's always been there. And workers have never benefitted from weapons upgrades. Haven't you ever noticed that it's nearly impossible to kill harassing Zealots or even Marines with workers late game when they have +3 armor?

Games starting late for one or both players has been a problem prior to 1.5. I know because it's been discussed before on TL, and also because I have personally experienced it. If someone wants to go through a game history and check the worker build times for the last ten games before 1.5 hit and the first ten games after the patch, then that would be useful information, but barring actual information of that nature, I'm just going to assume this is an ongoing problem that is getting noticed because people are hypersensitive to bugs at the moment.
I checked my pre patch match history and I noticed that now I start mining/builidng probe few seconds later than before. Earlier I was starting probe production around 00:01-00:02 but now it's at least 3-4 seconds later. I wouldn't mind it if it would affect both sides but unfortunately I'm the only one who's delayed in game. I played some customs with my friends and it turns out the game starts for them while i'm still in the loading screen (I see game loaded for both players but it doesn't start for few seconds). They said that the countdown starts for few seconds untill I finally join the game. I tried deleting cache and changing graphics settings but it didn't help. I didn't have that problem before patch. Now I'm lagging behind in literally every game I'm playing or observing.
The game runs fine for the first couple of games, but then i start getting input limit reached message all the time, and from there on the game gets pretty much unplayable.
before patch i played with graphics on medium/high and 150-200 fps, now with everything on low i get around the same fps, but then i start getting the input limit reached message and the fps drops to under 20, even in the menu its "unplayable".
I can restart sc2 and it will fix the problem, but it returns again after a couple of games.
So..I just played a TvZ on condemned ridge. The zerg player went for a 2 base roach baneling bust. He broke past my natural and started morphing banelings up the ramp to my main.
When the banelings finished morphing, one of the banelings appeared on the other side of the wall and pretty much gg'd me.

During replays when you switch to a players perspective the mini-map units are now green. Drives me crazy. I'm used to glancing at the mini-map to check his color then glancing up at the display to see his stats.
There was no reason to change this so I'm thinking it must be a bug.
Was having massive fps problems (sometimes dropping to 4 fps in the middle of a game and staying there). Saw it mentioned that certain sounds may be responsible (huh?). So I ctrl-s to turn off sounds and that actually fixed my problem. No more fps drops. Weird.
I was doing fine in terms of performance the past few days but today there was MASSIVE performance drop rendering the game unplayable during longer games. It's ridiculous because prior to the patch I was able to run the game fine but now I get massive fps drops in max low settings.
It must have been something to do with the server because I had horrible performance today as well! So much so that I was unable to move the screen to micro my units properly after the 10 minute mark. Hopefully these fps drop fixes that I'm trying will help. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm wondering if this bug might be the same as the lag bug caused by the client loading assets on demand instead of preloading everything. When the game starts, I assume there's a big chunk of unit/building assets loaded, maybe it actually starts the game and then lags out for different amounts for each player based on how long it takes their assets to load? It's just an idea, but you should try running a unit preloader (like this one: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=359043) before playing and see if that improves the situation?
I suspect it actually won't, since you're saying that you get this lag every game, and if it's the cache not containing the assets it needs, I would expect the lag only to happen for the first game you play (or the first against each race, since you won't have the SCV models loaded if you played a PvZ first). Still, it's worth a shot.

I am 97.642% certain that this is intentional behavior. I've gotten used to it pretty quickly. I'm going back and forth on whether I think it's a good idea (I think it might make it clearer to novice spectators what is going on when a player's vision is shown), but I really don't think this is a bug.
Is anyone dealing with my problem. I'm a terran player and when i vs. banes and split my army it lags and then when the lag is done so are my marines. My cpu is up to date graphics and processor wise. i even turned down my settings from ultra to high, 2 notches down, and it still is giving me lag ONLY WITH BANES. Please help it's driving me nuts.

To make no mistake, I checked that all the buildings in the vicinity were of the same player. The powered/unpowered state of protoss building is obviously toggleable, not actually checking if theres a pylon there or not.
I will not be able to update the OP reliably for the next 3-4 days. My wife has just called and I've got to go to the hospital and help her produce our second child. Wish me luck, and keep the bug reports and workaround coming, I'll catch up when I can .

Another one to add to the list (returned from the beginning of the game): our 3v3 team already played 15 matches, but are still not getting placed. It says we still have to play "one more match" ... http://imgur.com/3aS2a
I had a problem where pan right with the mouse stopped working all of the sudden in the middle of a game. Yes, I have a second monitor to the right, but I was focused on the game and "confine mouse cursor" was set to automatic in windowed full screen mode. This "automatic" setting seems to be new (I don't remember it before), but according to the description, the problem I had should not happen. (I have switched it to "on" just in case the bug is only present with the automatic mode)
Note: I had this exact same problem happen when I was using the 1.5 beta a few weeks ago.

That's not new. That's been happening since release. You have to alt-tab or windows key out of the game and back in to fix it.

I always check the clock when my first Probe completes, and it's almost never before 20 seconds, when it should be at 17.
dude.... you can watch at the ingame timer as soon as the game starts, the ingame timer doesn't start at 0:00 as pre patch but ALREADY at 0:01, 0:06 etc you don't even notice the lag... you probably just get out later out of the loading screen. pre patch my ladderopponents+me always started first worker 0:01, never later than 0:02. after 1.5 my first worker ALWAYS starts 0:04 no matter how fast I am, my ingame timer is already at 0:03 when I see my nexus.... check it first of all before trying to sound smart please. -_-
I checked out several matchhistories of pro players aswell and I noticed that elfi for example builds his first probe always after 0:04 since the new patch....
I'm not trying to sound smart, and if I do sound smart, I apologize for any offense I may have caused. This is just the way I communicate. You could try reading my posts aloud with a horrible lisp and say "hurr" after every comma - I'd probably sound pretty dumb, then.

There was no reason to change this so I'm thinking it must be a bug.
I am 97.642% certain that this is intentional behavior. I've gotten used to it pretty quickly. I'm going back and forth on whether I think it's a good idea (I think it might make it clearer to novice spectators what is going on when a player's vision is shown), but I really don't think this is a bug.
I checked that. Unit preloader doesn't help. I'll try other things but I'm quickly running out of ideas.

When I killed the first pylon, the gateway became unpowered (when it was obviously powered by another pylon. When I killed the second pylon, all other structures became unpowered, except the gateway that was already unpowered, which became powered again. But there were no pylons at all in sight.
Hi again, I'm here to submit the replay of this happening.
Desctiption: The initiation of the bug happens at 8.20, where I (Millet) kill Haritons (Green) pylon. In the power radius of this pylon is another protoss players, Vinards (Pink), Gateway and Robotics Facillity. When Haritons pylon dies, Vinyards Gateway and Robotics facillity becomes unpowered, while he still has a functioning pylon nearby.
Current state at 8.20: Vinyard has two unpowered buildings in range of one of his pylons (first bug)
Afterwards, at 8.32 I kill Vinyards last pylon. Thereby unpowering the rest of Vinyards structures. But heres where the strange thing happens. While the rest of his building becomes unpowered, the gateway and robotics facility that were unpowered, becomes powered again. But no pylon is actually in sight!
Current state at 8.32: Vinyard has two powered buildings that are no where near any of his pylons. This can be double checked, look at the colossus producing out of his Robo. It keeps on producing after 8.32!
So for some reason, Vinyard and Haritons pylons were cooperating in some weird way.
Watch the replay, and view my (Millet) view at the 8.20 - 8.40 mark and everything will be apparent.

Took a screenshot: ...
2v2. As you can see, I'm blue, and the vision is set to mine. The colossi would show up in fog of war... again not sure if this is how the game behaved before.. but it feels like a bug.
I believe this is a Colossus bug only, when they shoot they become visible.
I played a ladder game the other day and could target the colossus that was shooting me from the highground. I got accused of maphacking. I was kinda suprised i could see them myself, but i thought to myself they must have have changed it to the way it was in sc:bw. Seems its a colossus (or air unit, haven't tested) bug.

You can always target air units (colly counts as air in this case) that are on a cliff above you, and shooting you.

The only time I stumbled upon that was while traveling. I wanted to play in a hotel on the macbook I had with me. Since I hadn't planned to play, I didn't have a proper mouse with me. cmd-clicking worked way better than the two-finger click in order to right-click.
I'm sure there's quite a few people out there (mostly very casual players but still) who predominantly play on a trackpad. Throwing them a bone isn't exactly a big deal, so why not?
Seems like i might have this too on one of my accounts and only in 1:1. I didnt play any 1:1 games (on that account) before the patch and now I cant even get placed no matter how many games I play. Seems like the mmr is working I just dont get placed and since I dont get placed I dont get any points. Personally I dont really care it just looks really weird. My opponents gets/loses points when they play me.
I guess it's a dream come true for anyone with ladder anxiety.
EDIT: Apparently it was the "negative placement bug".

That has to do with the new resource loading system. If you run the custom map "Unit Preloader" each time you start Starcraft 2 before laddering it will fix the problem. You only need to run the map itself once, after that you can just view the replay on x8 but you need to do it each time you start Starcraft.
I don't know about anybody else, but I just completed Starcraft master (yes, all 30 of them ^_^), but didn't get the portrait. Am I the only one or has someone else had this problem too?
I was playing a few FFA's and finally got up to 50 wins, got the achievement and the points and everything. But then when I looked at the counter that should say 50, it said 30 instead. So it went from 49 -> 30 after my previous win. I believe this was fixed in like patch 1.3 or something, and the bug has crawled up again in patch 1.5.
As you can see, I'm hovering above the recently awarded 50 wins achievement, and the counter still says 30.
Has no one mentioned the Lag and dropped FPS in battle? ALOT of people are complaining about it on and off stream but it's not mentioned in this post. Please Add
If you're in the replay menu and you scroll, certain text elements wobble up and down a pixel. It consistently happens with the "Versus A.I." category text, but it also happens on certain text elements that display the details of the replay. It seems kind of random, sometimes a name will wobble, sometimes a race, sometimes nothing. Not terribly important of course, it just creeps me out.

This helped to reduce the amount of lag time to about 6-8 seconds. Any ways to completely remove it or is it just a blizzard thing?
Unit preloader didn't fix it for me too. I think the problem is somewhere else.

I've had the problem since before this patch but not so extreme, even if I click straight away I won't get probe built until 6 seconds at the minimum. I had this issue with a slow hard drive, I got SC2 on an SSD and it helped but it didn't go beneath 4 even with insta click and E. I think its just a blizzard thing, but there should really be a 3 second countdown at the start of games to avoid this, to make sure everyone is synced.
Hi guys! Just wanted to let you know that my life is starting to stabilize now that the little one is home and everything is getting into a routine. I'll try to find the time the next couple of days to get all the posts I missed into the OP, thanks for your patience!
I'm not completely sure if this is a bug specific to this patch, but this is the first time I have noticed it. After reviewing a replay in SC2Gears I noticed that during the final A-Move the APM of the opposing player shot up to around 750. In the action output of SC2Gears I found that these actions were called "Deselect all", and are possibly related to their units dying. Looking at the replay in SC2 gives the same APM spike.
I have uploaded the replay if anyone else would like to take a look at it: http://drop.sc/239834
When I tried to host MLG maps off the bookmark tab for the Custom Games menu, I would get a "dependencies could not be validated" error for the friend I'd try to invite into the game.
After relogging and creating by searching for the map, the problem was resolved.
I'm not sure this is a bug, but I used to hit Ctrl + F1 to select all my idle workers at the start of a game, and now it does not work. Does anyone else have this problem? I checked my hotkey setup and it's still the same. Did blizz intentionally patch this out?
I think it is bad to show the highest saison finish as the league in the profile mainpage. They should show the current league as they always did. Also they made it awfully complicated to access ones ladder rank.
Not sure if that has been mentioned already, but you're no longer able to open replays by double clicking them or from sc2gears. They have to be copied to replays folder for your account and then launched from the game.
At the start of every game post 1.5 I experience lag before I can control a single unit. The lag screen pops up for the opponent and I physically cannot control anything until 00:03 - 00:10. I run SC2 windowed (fullscreen) at lowest settings with a PC that easily managed that pre-patch (I used to use higher textures too but turned them down post 1.5 to try and fix this). My internet connection is also unchanged, only 1.5 is different.
Unsure why this is. Would like to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and knows a fix.

same problem and many other seem to have it aswell, but most people just have 1-3 sec.. I have exactly 4 sec lag its so annoying -_-

Bump. Sorry for this but I did not think my question warranted a new thread.
Anyways, has anyone been experiencing a bug with his/her caps lock key. When I have two browsers open and press they key, one browser will minimize and the other will appear. When there is only one browser open, pressing the caps lock key results in a slight flicker at the top of the address bar. This not only occurs when using a browser, but also hindered me in Microsoft Word. It does not occur while playing SC2 but when I am tabbed out of it or after I close it. Don't know what to do about this. I rebooted computer and re-installed SC2. For a couple of days, the problem was fine but it just reappeared. I was wondering if this is attributed to the Patch 1.5 since during the time that I did not have SC2 installed after rebooting my computer, the problem was gone but now it has magically appeared again .
I saw someone mention the arcade mode being unplayable a while back. That's happening to me. Any arcade game downloads, then it says "streaming data" and gets to about 50% and stays there for 5 to 10 minutes before getting a lobby. I can only create games because I time out trying to join others. I have re-installed, deleted the whole directory, changed my graphics settings and checked/defraged the hard disk. Nothing is working. I have 40Mb download and 20Mb upload speeds on my internet so that is not the issue. Any fix for this?

Please, compare SC2-versions from this thread and from current game, ok?
