Interesting timing to release this info, would have thought this would get way more publicity after the BWC. Cella coaching would be awesome.

We were originally in talks with MMA, but instead of signing him, we advised him in a better direction. MMA would be a wonderful asset for any team, but a following as large as his, can be quite overwhelming. As our talks went on, I realized that the last thing I wanted was to overshadow our wonderful and talented Terran, Ryung (or any other player for that matter). MMA and our team at Axiom are great friends and we hope to continue that friendship for years to come. Simple as that really. We came to the conclusion that it would make sense for him to take a particular offer that was better than ours and gave him a chance to rock it on another team, so Genna tried to give him a little bit of assistance navigating the offers that were coming in and choosing the one that would be best for him. From my point of view as a sponsor, taking on someone as prominent as MMA who can demand a salary to match his fearsome reputation and legacy seemed a little too much too soon. I'm talking with many sponsors at the moment to supplement our income, help balance our books and expand our current team-house which is now at capacity and not ideal for our purposes yet. When Ryung destroys MKP, I have a feeling a few more sponsors will pay attention

And grats to Miya and yourselfs. + Axiom has all races now that's a cool thing for a practice house.

I hope to see promo/hype videos that take advantage of TB's extensive experience and build up the player's personalities too. Kicking MKP's butt is only half the battle, but I'm sure Axiom already knows that :D

It's also our job to make sure they get paid and attract new sponsors for the team. As Genna pointed out however, players are independent contractors and under US law, you cannot micromanage an independent contractor. The only thing you can do is replace them with a different independent contractor if their work is not satisfactory. As a result and the obvious fact that we don't have the necessary game knowledge to assist with their practice, we leave it entirely up to the players. CranK already has experience in this because he ended up in an unofficial coaching role within SlayerS. The players know best as to what they need to practice and how long they should be practicing. We hope that our attitude towards the players and being available to them for any query whenever they need will encourage a desire to work hard for the team. That's the cornerstone of a successful team, igniting a desire to win for themselves and for the team and that willingness to practice really hard to make that happen. So far it's working out pretty well.

From the news we got, it always seemed like SlayerS management was involved at the smallest level at times, almost to a fault; whether or not that was the case, it was difficult to shake that feeling. Having been a contractor I know that role all too well, I also understand the limitations it puts on you as management. From what you've said it sounds like an excellent, productive environment and I feel like Miya will do well in it. Best of luck to you and Genna with the Team, I look forward to more results and announcements regarding your roster.

We already have one, it's just not the size we want. We're actively working on finding one that's suited to our needs. We want to be able to give our players some space and privacy, not bunk them 4-6 to a room and since we're focusing on a small team looking for a maximum of 6 players, that is entirely attainable.

So sort of like what HerO, TLO, Jinro, SuperNoVa, and HuK have at the moment, I guess. Well, that sounds great, will certainly be a different experience for the former SlayerS players. All the best with the development of the team! And next time you happen to cast in Berlin, I guess I really need to get you a currywurst then, hehe.

It's better to have a few more though so you can be a little more flexible in your choices. Fnatic played this season with just 5 players on their roster coming to the studio

I know what you're thinking, Alicia or Genius. We have no plans to make an offer to either of those players at this time. We're keeping a very close eye on the scene at the moment for further acquisitions when the team has more established sponsorship. Right now we have a good practice environment with one of each race and players that get along well with each other, which is a good start. Now we have to establish greater cashflow that isn't solely relying on my finances in order to further expand safely.

I hope Axiom becomes a beacon of solid management and a caring environment after all those horror stories of foreign teams signing Koreans on and of. Getting a good reputation among Korean players is going to be so worth it, since most players will come to you first, if you become as attractive as Liquid and EG. Looks like you´re on good way there.

With Ryung making so deep into Code S, I'm sure you guys will find some stable sponsors.

The biggest deal is the way SK handles it's rent system. It uses a JEONSE/CHONSEI system whereby the deposit is VERY large but must be returned in full after the lease ends. These usually last for 2 years. The system as I understand it is designed to allow property owners to take advantage of large lump sums they can invest during high interest periods in the economy. They make a profit on the investment then return the initial amount after the lease is over. Expect deposits for small houses to be more in the region of $20,000. Also your salary number is way lowball

Jeonse basically turns real estate into a bond instrument, where the coupon payment is your rent payment. It sounds like a good deal for both parties rly Props to you TB for having the guts to take on these financial risks for the sake of making your dream a reality. Azubu signed IntoTheRain as the coach for Violet, will Axiom be getting a Korean coach or is Miya taking on a player-coach position? I seems like between Azubu, Axiom, and Acer there is a complete and competitive Korean pro team. Are there any plans to join forces to compete in the GSTL? Congratulation on the success so far, I hope Miya shows the similar turnaround like Ryung.

Building a line-up for team leagues like the GSTL is such a big financial commitment that I don't see Axiom making right now. The additional exposure from team leagues might give them a little sponsorship boost, but I'm guessing not much. I would rather that Axiom focus on making its existing 3 players happy than expanding too quickly.
