First and foremost we would like to offer our sincerest apologies for our absence and the abrupt suspension of the Playhem Daily tournaments, as well as the intermittent payment withdrawal issues some of our users have been encountering. Above all else, we’re committed to our users and making sure that all players with prize money still on their accounts have every opportunity to withdraw their winnings, and withdrawals should be fully functional at this time. If you’re still having problems withdrawing any prize money please feel free to email us at any time for help. You can email either luka@playhem.com or ben@playhem.com to be taken care of.
As Playhem continues to grow, we’ve always attempted to improve our platform and make our tournaments as fun and fair for everyone, and in carrying on that tradition we’re hoping to relaunch our tournaments in the near future with an entirely new format and structure that we feel will improve the overall success of our events. We don’t have an exact time frame for you yet but we’ll be bring updates to you as soon as we have the details set in stone.
In the meantime we’d like to remind everyone what Playhem is all about, and so we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be bringing you showmatches between some of your favorite players not only from the world of Starcraft 2 but also League Of Legends with full coverage on Playhem TV We’d like to invite everyone to tune in to these events, cheer for your favorite players, and then sit down for a game of Playhem Poker. Details to follow shortly in a separate thread.
We thank everyone for their ongoing support and your patience with us as we go through these changes. We’re looking forward to bringing you more tournaments and events soon.
Did you feel that having tournaments EVERY SINGLE DAY brought down the "value" of each one? it definitely seemed like an excessive amount of tourneys...

No way. What people missed about the daily that it was world class players going against each other every day, twice a day. Some of the now amazing people you know of originated from Playhem or actually were kings of the tournament for a long period. Take for example people like Hyun, Snute, Violet, Revival =).
The value was huge, regardless of viewership, it was a place for people to launch their careers.

Personally, I think it's fine since people knew that there would be something to do for them each day to play and get more experience, while potentially gaining exposure being seen by a team or other organization in our open tournament

next time, please update a reason sooner :>
things just feel a sketchy without a prompt update especially on the internets
So what you're saying is......."Damn it Luka!"?
haha yeah an update would have been best a while ago, especially when it came down to everything just falling silent. Still raises the suspicion of why something wasnt said though, If it was all part of just of a restructure instead of mysteriously just vanishing along with payouts not working at the same time.
Good to finally have an official update though, If all is well looking forward to seeing whats new thats coming up!
People on teamliquid asked how you get investors 1 month ago... They were suspicious on how you get this money (like 50/75$) everyday... And I'm very curious too...

the same way the Phoenix Coyotes and New York Knicks pay their players.
via rich guys who don't care about losing money... they just want to see intense competition.
Hell, the entire Canadian Football League has been losing money for almost 30 years.
Awesome to hear, the tournaments were tons of fun to play. I wondered what happened to then; it was a LONG time with no word whatsoever. I believe you should've at least said something, just a simple tweet "dailies won't run for a while, we're restructuring and improving the system" would've prevented a lot of worrying, and even maybe built up hype.
Either way, great to see that you guys are officially back in action here's to a smooth 2013!

Yeah I think they should have said something to. Oh well hopefully if this happens again they decide to say something before 2 months pass or however long it's been .
I miss watching the dailies, really want those to come back; I would just come back from classes and then do HW w/ the daily in the background everyday. Watching IPL was great though, with so many of the familiar voices it was like an expanded Playhem Daily .

Not only good players developed their rise on the dailies, but also Casters (i.e. Frodan ,Kibbelz, Jorosar, Katu, Robin) who can train themselves and then get bigger gigs, and ofcourse also admins - practice makes perfect they say.
Looking forward to watch dailies again.
Hoping for some more community help for that then - in the times of consolidation and dieing out weekly cups.
I'm happy you guys gave us this status update but why was there no post like this before you guys abruptly disrupted your services? I think it's really important in keeping with your commitment to users by being conscious of the timings at which you're transparent.
Just to clarify, I'm not attempting to be overly critical, but I really would like to know as this is puzzling to me. I look forward to the future.
Glad to finally get an update on this, though I'm agreeing with what most others have said, could've come earlier. Would've avoided a lot of speculation that way!
Really looking forward to seeing Playhem back. It was one of few things that kept me playing. those lower league tournaments, man. <3
i really enjoyed the service, just hated playing every day as after i lost my BSG tournie, mad as you always are cos you went 3 rnds deep!!, looked at the winners account and saw they have been in masters league at some point ^^. all fun tho!
Restructuring is kind of vague. Restructuring website infrastructure? Management? The financials?
Glad there was finally a response, but it kind of seems strange to disappear, then post this much later. We'd have to assume that this "restructuring" was therefore unplanned.
Playhem is amazing. The fact that is daily made it so it was really comfortable to participate in one when you have a free evening. I'm really happy that it's coming back.
That is a relief, next time lets forgo the speculation and make some allusion to the restructuring. We nerds tend to be a nervous bunch with excessively active imaginations.
Great to hear this, Playhem tournaments were a lot of fun and I would have been very sad to see you guys go. Good Luck with the restructuring! I'm sure that I will be trying it out when you come out with it!

Restructuring all the things. Mainly the tournament structure. Things are still in works. They work me like a pack mule.

This is really good to hear, I was very scared for the TSL zergs for a little while there, but now everything is cleared up . That said, what are the new improvements you all are going to roll out? What can we expect (Other than the LoL I mean). Are there going to visual updates and such?

Quit it, you're making me blush.
So everything is going to change basically?
By LoL you mean the showmatches? A site redesign was launched maybe a month or so ago, check it out.
As for what's being changed, things are being shuffled with and nothing is set in stone, so I can't really say anything. When it's time information will be presented =)
I love you Playhem ♥ I'm not even withdrawing my money (only 3$ atm). I'd rather have them use my balance to grow bigger than having +3$ to spend on useless stuff...
If they have plans, it will surely be a happy new year !
Even if I haven't played a lot of them, playing playhem tournaments was one of the most fun experience that I had in sc2 (together with playing in the "valor" league, unfortunately valor games were on saturday nights, which was very difficult for me to attend). The problem though was that I encountered a few times obvious smurfs accounts playing in gold/plat tournament, made me stop playing it because that's really not fun.
Eh, while I can't sopport LOL in anyway, I am greatly pleased to continue to support Playhem for the opportunity it gives to budding SC players and, of course, because of Whitera.
Perhaps with continued success we will see a Dota Playhem some day!
Krr, you have taken way to many wins from me already in the playhem. i think it would be kind of you to give the rest on the eu server a break and sit some out mkay?
It would be excellent if we could get some official statement or something before the website just quietly dies. When the dailies were running it wasn't just them on the playhem site there were also several other small tounaments (mostly free) that ran on there as well. I just logged on to playhem today and there were only 3 SC2 tournaments in the month of march. All three were run by the same guy and the one that already happened only had 4 players attending.
Please bring back the tournaments playhem, They were a ton of fun and there really isn't anything to replace them.

but.. to be fair, good luck!!
Well i guess im not the only one. Got banned for ''maphacking'' once i had about 80$ on the account. I was even streaming that tournament on TL... Ive tried contacting playhem so many times, but they all told me im only in game admin i can't help you. ''i will ask'' But never hear form them again. Very bad organisation!
