There's still time though, if his wrists get better he can still string some wins together.
Cursed Jaehoon last season for ruining my anti, now blessing that wonderful man for single-handedly saving my team from being a complete disaster

I long for an FPL round where every available player is actually able to play and does not either retire shortly after or decide to get wrist treatment without the team making it known in advance.
Other than that I am convinced now that the FPL system in its current form only really works well with the standard Proleague format. When only three games won in a row on a single night (because of All-Kill format) can propel an otherwise mediocre player up so much in trade value that you barely have any good options left to replace him with on anti, you realize this could not have been the original intention when the formulas were designed.
Now I can't wait for this round to be over. But GL HF to those who did not get screwed.

By the same token, somehow I have acquired Flash for Hydra

STX Soul, oh how far you have fallen.

LOLOL you can trade Hydra for Flash or Rain. A 3pt guy for a 10 or 11pt guy. Wow, Hydra can be traded for anyone except Fantasy, Shy, and JangBi. I am seriously considering this, ramping my team up so that it's worth more than its 30 initial points. Everyone who picked Flash or Rain early got burned. I do not think Hydra will hold his value next week (the only way he does is if he gets another 3+ kills), so trade him while you can!
Right now my rank is #519. Not bad when I have JangBi on my anti-team and can only trade him for Fantasy or Shy

We've had similar problems before with Flash and DRG dominating previous seasons. But at least those players were supposed to dominate and their initial values assigned to them reflected this. I think a big problem is that most of the Kespa players have extremely variable skill levels that it's really hard to assess true skill. After all, who could have expected 3 pointers like Hydra and free to all kill this round? This is of course in addition to the problem of volatility in an all-kill format.

Play to win. Your team has Hydra, JangBi, and Speed. So does almost everyone above you. If those three keep doing well for you, you won't be able to move up the standings. The only way to move up is to hope your low-valued players make an incredible run, or if you trade your high-valued players and diversify, hoping that you win in trade value over people who stand pat. Far more people stand pat than make bold trades -- only 27 people traded for Hydra this week, and those who did got up to a whopping +16 in trade value.
So yeah, I suggest you trade. Standing pat is almost certain to not work in your case.

Apparently, because I didn't manage my team one week, I had MajOr on my main team...traded him this week for Bisu and also traded HuK for Thorzain, oh, and really wish I could have gotten Crazy Hydra off my anti team this week, got burned sooooooo bad by him...

LOL who knew Jaehoon would have the most points on my team hahahaha Also, STX Soul wtf I thought you'd win a few at least.

Rank 2! I can do this before the end of the season. :3
I still stand by my opinion that my team is the most solid as a team. XD

sitting comfortably at 43 right now but my downfall might be not picking a different 1 point player. Chose Mini because I thought he would get a few snipes for STX but I guess not... also had the same rationale for Puma but EG-TL has so many other better players that it doesn't look like he'll get any playtime
also Flash wtf

This is the highest I have gotten, and it happened today.
Heck yes. FINALLY Jaehoon does something this round. Edit: just realized that if I hadn't boarded the HuK hype train and traded thorzain for him I would be 100 places higher. Dang it!

Hovering around rank 300 this week. Kind of unfortunate netting very few points in the last 2 days due to the all kills.
I'm not too worried about the large trade value jumps so much as the low trading frequency. If we got to trade twice as often this would be manageable. We have what, 3 trade windows for 28 series of BO7. The last time we did fantasy GSTL, we had 30series of BO7 spanning 10 weeks. thats 9 trade windows. That's triple the trade opportunities for essentially the same number of games.
Look at my trades in GSTL (http://www.teamliquid.net/fantasy/gstl/Team.php?team=mrbamboo&r=1) I made 17 trades netting a gain of 41 points after trade tax. That's less than 3 points gain per trade. But making consistently good decision over a long period of time helps mitigate short term risks/variance. For proleague I doubt I'd make more than 4 trades total, nearly all of which is dictated by which EGTL player will be out of town or sick. For one there is 1/3 the trade windows, for two, having a lot more matches between trade period meaning you are not angling for a specific scenario, and that risk is diluted by the other 10 matches going on this week that could make just as many FPL points and negate your gain for the trade. More frequent trades also mean that the value of each player only change a little bit each time, and you get to use that new information to make more decisions and you are not punished as severely for any single decision.
I mean there's not much TL can do about it, the matches are back to back, and not consistently updated on time on the fantasy system. People will complain if there is only a 4 hour window to trade between between the 1st and 2nd set of matches in the week. GSTL with FXO + grubby and Axiom Acer is starting soon. I hope the format lends itself well to fantasy and we can get both FPL and FGSTL going at the time .
