Stephano may be seeded in, but he's replacing a player. Hmmm... Good question! Stephano is a seed but he is replacing a player, not an addition to Code S.
Code S seeds are probably done. Giving them to foreigners didn't work and KeSPA has had enough time now that their best players are in Code S or will be in the next season or so.
For Stephano to play in Code S, Polt had to leave for America. Truly a hero.

I think that would be "Season 1 2013 Code S!" , no? Other than that though I will likely be fucking up my sleep schedule again. Oh Starcraft, why must we be in this love/hate relationship?...
Best of luck to Stephano!

Well, Polt left to study in the U.S. so it was one more free spot in addition to the two seeds they usually give to foreign players with outstanding results or promising KeSPA players. Since MrChae wanted to give Stephano a seed for a long time, you could argue that Polt beat Bbyong for someone in the Wild Card group instead.
I like the Wild Card group a lot, gives two more players in the stacked Up and Downs the chance to qualify after all. <3

Pretty cool to have a wild card group with how stacked the up/downs were.
Gratz Stephano, I'm not a fan of seeds into code S but he deserves it more than most people who have been given one.

Good guy Polt.
Now Stephano can hand back the Code S spot in the summer. That's kinda lame for Bbyong, really he should get the code S spot.

GL to Stephano! Hope he can do well in the preparation style matches
|
So, from what I understand, EG kidnapped Polt and brought him to America so Stephano could his his spot?
+ Show Spoiler +GSL is looking the other way while Scoots agrees to plan all Gom logistical operations for the foreseeable future. It's all coming together.

this will make better games know that 3rd place is worth something.

That's funny how Stephano took Polt's spot. Gonna miss Polt ♥ Hurry back!

Pretty sure the Wild Card group is replacing the free seeds.
Foreign players didn't do well with them and made it come off as a joke. KeSPA doesn't need them any more.
If Bbyong had beaten Polt, Stephano probably would have had to go to the Up/Downs.

Didnt Naniwa get his code S with them and then get back to back Ro8 or did he get it a different way? I mean most of them did bomb but I would argue the change is because there are no foreigners who are worthy that they havnt invited already. I would say if Stephano still wanted it then he would have one of the wild card seeds in a heartbeat.

He made 2 Ro8 in a row off his seed then went straight to Code B. fortunes change quickly in StarCraft,,.
But ya, he got a seed. IIRC at the same time viOlet did. viOlet, Thorzain and Sen all got Code S seeds and then later forfeited U&D. Polt and Rain both got seeds and later forfeited Code S. Is it the GOM curse?

The wildcard group is sick. Gives grubby a much better shot :D

However, Code S seeds still haven't been revealed. I feel like NaNiwa might get one, and now would be the perfect time for Stephano to FINALLY accept his. Wait, there's still Code S seeds? -_- I hope Kespa people get them, no foreigner besides Stephano deserves Code S. And we all know he's not gonna do it. Yes, there are 20 players in Code S right now. And 10 spots will be granted in the 5 U&D spots. So there are 2 spots remaining for the seeds. Honestly, I would not want Kespa players to get them because they all had a shot at it already. Assuming Stephano doesn't take a seed, since these U&Ds are so stacked, maybe another group play with the 5 players that finish 3rd in these groups.

And for me Wild Cards are better than direct seeds. We will be sure that best of the best players go thorough, and foreigners will not be knocked you in first round.

I like the idea of the wild card games more than the seeds. There are so many good players in the up and downs and if you get a tough group you still have a shot to make it through if you're good enough otherwise :D

Good stuff. Flash GUARANTEED to make it now.

Yup, and it is likely that most of the games in U&D will be played since we now have to determine a 3rd place as well. Think of all the tie breaker possiblilities!!!

Lots of cool things coming up this/last month. A nice change from the "sc2 dying" every other post.
