Stephano may be seeded in, but he's replacing a player. Hmmm... Good question! Stephano is a seed but he is replacing a player, not an addition to Code S. Code S seeds are probably done. Giving them to foreigners didn't work and KeSPA has had enough time now that their best players are in Code S or will be in the next season or so. For Stephano to play in Code S, Polt had to leave for America. Truly a hero.
I disagree. GOM needs Foreign players even more than ever. We don't know how long Kespa will continue to send their players to GSL in 2013. I suspect not for much longer. We already have KESPA players gaining in popularity in Foreign markets plus also in Korea too. We are already having ProLeague gaining popularity in the SC2 fanbase due to the participation of EG-TL. GOM therefore has increased competition for attention and profile in the coming year. They cannot afford to cease taking business decisions that increase their popularity and fanbase, which the Foreign players bring. It would be a big blow for GOM if Stephano went to Korea to play in Kespa tournaments but not GSL.
This announcement is actually very good news for Grubby, as it increases his chances of making it into Code S!
Does anyone know then the Code S Ro32 is scheduled to start?

He was the winner of the only previous Code S wildcard tournament, so the removal of the previous wildcard and the introduction of this new wildcard system coincide.
(Though Polt still needs to give his spot back to LiveForever.)

Amazing idea to have a wildcard group. Gomtv fighting!

Now we wait if Stephano can beat Nani's or Jinro's records.

I love the wildcard U&D system. I was wondering what the long awaited U&D changes were that they announced at the finals of 2012 S5. Better than the seeds which were exciting when announced, but almost always a big disappointment in execution.
Also, GL to Stephano. Hope you tear it up in Code S!

Is there a typo ? 2013 you mean right ?

As much as it is exciting to be able to see how top foreigners measure up in the gsl, it seems unfair that Stephano (or any other foreigner) just gets a code S spot, especially now when competition is extremely high and players really need to work hard to get from code A to S.

I'm predicting he gets destroyed when people take a week to prepare for their matches.

so is this wildcard group thing only in this season or in every season now?

Lose Polt for Stephano... gahh!!! I actually just wanted to see these two go head-to-head.

Stephano Polt rivalry takes a new turn as the Frenchman usurps Polt's Code S spot!!! What's next, one will steal the other's girlfriend perhaps? :p
|
So fitting for him to takeover from Polt.

However, Code S seeds still haven't been revealed. I feel like NaNiwa might get one, and now would be the perfect time for Stephano to FINALLY accept his. Wait, there's still Code S seeds? -_- I hope Kespa people get them, no foreigner besides Stephano deserves Code S. And we all know he's not gonna do it. Yes, there are 20 players in Code S right now. And 10 spots will be granted in the 5 U&D spots. So there are 2 spots remaining for the seeds. Honestly, I would not want Kespa players to get them because they all had a shot at it already. Assuming Stephano doesn't take a seed, since these U&Ds are so stacked, maybe another group play with the 5 players that finish 3rd in these groups. I think they should give me (Elite1) royalties. Check my comment here: http://www.gomtv.net/forum/view.gom?topicid=228791&cid=0&kind=8 the third sentence/paragraph at least.
