It means there's not just enough money going around for SC2. Worst case, SC2 will maintain its own scene, albeit very niche. Think of the scale of tennis (SC2) vs football (LoL). SC2 will live on, that's for sure.

But on the other hand, this may be a golden opportunity for new/lesser known players to shine

This is sad. Why? There is a trade block, but playrs will always look to get the best deal they can. just business Yeah, exactly. The trade block only blocks people that are contracted to an eSF team. And of course, but having the KeSPA teams drain all the eSF teams of the best players they have isn't great for the scene either. Kills competition and makes it even harder to raise the upn'comers that are on the KeSPA teams. I just feel bad for the teams tbh.

A skilled player like Squirtle who can also rally the fans is bound to feel a little restricted by ST's low(?) salaries compared to himself. He probably felt ST was a world too small for him, and he needed to diversify and get a larger income relative to his skill and personality. This is probably the case, and ST of all teams (other than IM) can eat these recent player losses without TOO much setback. Still though, qq.
