Former SlayerS player Brown has joined SK telecom T1.
KeSPA stated that after the disbanding of SlayerS Brown expressed his desire to join a KeSPA team and therefore KeSPA invited the teams to bid on his contract through the posting system. They further added that SK telecom was the only team to submit a bid and as a result Brown has joined SK telecom.
Born in September 1991, Brown (Choi, Min Su) is a Protoss player who reached the Round of 32 at the 2012 GSL Season 1 Code S and 1st place in the Iron Squid Chapter II Korean Qualifiers.
Brown becomes eligible to play for his team in Proleague with the commencement of Round 4 of the SK Planet Proleague 12-13, which is scheduled for March.
------------------------
Note: It is widely known that Brown was already with SK telecom as a trainee player; the fact he just went through the posting system implies that his status has now become that of a professional player in KeSPA parlance.

Another SKT1? Isn't it time for someone else to bid?
|
Good for brown! Also yay BoxeR picking up his old players.
I'm somewhat surprised no other teams bid on him, he is decent and he knows the esf players, I'd think more teams would want his knowledge for individual leagues.

From my understanding there's nothing stopping teams from bidding, but if multiple teams clear the reserve price then a lottery is held which disadvantages teams who have picked up players from the posting system. Since SK telecom was the only team to bid, the lottery did not occur.

They needed more Protoss players anyway.

This has been known for a really long time. It's just that no official announcement was made. It's kind of like with my FXO.NA players. When I sign players onto my team, some people know about it some don't. When people don't know about it, it's mainly because I never made an official announcement thread on TL. But they're still signed.

Think he was a trainee before

NICE, SKT1 All the way!! I LOVE Brown's style, I hope he goes far with SKT1.

Nice pick by BoxeR. Brown once showed up in Code A and quickly got into Code S in his first try, so he most definitely has the potential.

He's been a trainee for them since Slayers disbanded. I'm surprised this wasn't known by many.
|
hmm interesting was his price to high?? though he would have been a good pick up for a few teams
|
Probably because of Boxer.
|
Im starting to get the feeling that SKT are buying a bunch of protosses in the hopes that one of them can make Bisu into a great SC2 player.
|
Heard this a while, nice to see it's official though. Grats Brown! Any word on Dark or the others? Dark joined T1 as a trainee as well right?

I dunno, I doubt brown was all that expensive. He never placed particularly well in any tournaments or showed incredible team-league play.

Decent point. Hadn't thought of it from that angle. I think I'll go with: SKT must be loaded, after all.

Grats, Brown! So, two Protoss players have been recruited to SKT1. PartinG winning WCG and BWC, and Brown winning Iron Squid II Korean Qualifiers. SKT1 has a great year ahead of them!

Indeed, the trainee part should have been well known (IIRC it was all over TL and then some).

Clearly the key distinction to be made here is between trainee and signed player; sure he may have been a trainee for them sans any announcement, but he obviously went through the posting system after PartinG (recall that the posting system was instituted beginning with PartinG), which means that the signing as a proper member of the squad is a recent development. I might go clarify this in the OP.

Not exactly news, but I'll take any chance to cheer for Brown I can get. <3

Brown's macro-focused PvZ is so sick. Can't wait to see more out of him!

Brown is really strong and innovative, he qualified for IronsquidII in KR qualifier and does some quite original strategy. So many good protoss in SKT1 now :D
|
They're going to drop everyone else except Fantasy so they can get 30 protoss' and 1 terran .

My first thought is: oh poor Bisu...

Haven't we known this for a while?

I saw him beat Symbol when Symbol was red hot. IT WAS AMAZING. Hope he does even better. SKT's Protoss depth is insane! They're no longer the Terran team of old.
|
So much the terran heritage SKT1 is famous for. Now its protoss.

Doubt it, BoxeR would have known just how good he is.

They must have played HotS.

T1 is always loaded, they support team 8 after all. They can probably support them for couple more years.
|
Bisu it was nice knowing you.

Brown has always been a Zerg snipers in team leagues.

Can't help feel bad for Bisu, I just hope all these toss players lights a fire under him so he can eventually break out and show he's the true king of Toss of SKT T1.
|
SKT definitely taking advantage of some of these lesser known players. Can't blame them with the potential that they have.
|
Gratz to him! I think we will be seeing some great games from him soon ^___^
|
Bisu is gonna use a namek style fusion with all of those Protoss players to unlock great power and rise to dominance in SC2.
|
SKT T1 and Axiom splitting the SlayerS players ^^
