Hmmm, after picking up some relatively known players, this is a cool pick up. Looking forward to seeing Succeed in the future!

Make ALL the puns!
ontopic: GLHF to Succeed and ROOT! Always good to see freshblood enter the fray

ROOT is the future. Such good players and awesome mentality for running a team.
Heard about this, but never heard of Succeed. I like how ROOT is picking up known and unkown players, hope the team and the individuals as a whole succeed.

Success! [Dragonthumbphotohere]

Its always awesome to see unknown players succeed in making it onto big name teams.

I guess to succeed, they had to go back to their roots.
...that was awful.
Congrats! Also can we please not make the puns unless we're fairly certain they don't suck?
+ Show Spoiler +See, I could have said "certain they'll succeed" but that would suck and be hypocritical.
I'm so amazed by Catz' bravery with these pick ups. Big ups and good luck.

I was gonna ask if he's changing his name to Success after winning something big. He looks quite marketable in the ROOT site pics. I wonder why I haven't heard of him before now. Another Scarlett type of success story (can't think of a non-pun ^_^) ?
just checked out the vod of his frist streaming session. Really sick builds and a cool style. looking forward to seeing this guy tear it up in the near future! :D
GL, very cool new pickup by ROOT!
Never heard of him, but I have faith in Catz's picks. Leiya turned out beast anyways.
edit: And good luck to Succeed, of course.

Awesome. Can't wait for the next team match/clan war with ROOT with their new expanded roster. They're going to be a force to be reckoned with in HotS!

With this pick they are well en ROOT to succeed.
+ Show Spoiler +How... did... I... succumb... to such a bad joke...

ROOT pickups are always the best pickups. For everyone else, it's always "Oh, nice to see that (insert Korean here) found a new team." With ROOT, it's "Oh, so that's the best player I've never heard of." Then, a few months later, said pickup is now "the most talented player everyone's heard of".
welcome to the team bro :D
His last name is Schmuck. Hmm.
I'm starting to worry about Root. Where are they getting all the money to support 12 players? that seems really overkill. Are some players paid while others don't get a salary?
If only 3 sponsors are making this all a reality, then big props to the sponsors.

Gogo root fighting!

ROOT is getting bigger and bigger
Played this guy a couple of times in hots ladder, hes indeed insanely good. Im wondering what his handle was in WoL, was it Succeed or something slightly more familiar? Hard to imagine that someone that good could be completely unknown in WoL.
Exciting news and by the looks of things an exciting prospect for sure, CatZ has an uncanny ability to find talent.
Good luck to ROOT and mad props/respect to this guy for the commitment he has already shown. Hopefully that same attitude can take him far
I consider myself have pretty good knowledge about the Swedish scene but I've never seen him in small tourneys like e-sport SM where he could go really far and maybe win it.
Well, good luck to the guy! I look forward to see another Swede rise! :D
wuuuuuuuuuuuut there was a LAN in my city?
any more info? ;;
Sick pick up, also pretty crazy he moved around the world to play the game. Sweet!
Cool to see ROOT recruit europeans. On a side note, how old is this guy? Didn't seem to be mentioned in the article.
Will he succeed? I DON'T KNOW KEV
This Schmuck looks promising :D
Well we will see if this going to be something good but I don't expect Kespa player level.
I'm from Sweden and I've never heard of him.
However, I'm really happy about this move from Root, I think more teams should have the balls to support lesser known players. I wish both Root and Succeed the best of luck.
What sucks for Root is that even if they do manage to develop great players, bigger organizations are going to try and snipe them anyways and probably going to suceed
Really interesting pick up that gives hope to up and comers. Will definitely ROOT for him and hope to see him succeed !
Im ROOTing for them to Succeed!

On February 10 2013 19:39 i99 wrote: What sucks for Root is that even if they do manage to develop great players, bigger organizations are going to try and snipe them anyways and probably going to suceed You may note from history that even when ROOT players go elsewhere, they always end up back with ROOT, so does it really matter if they have a short stint elsewhere?

GL Succeed! Living the dream there, moved with Doodmaster CatZ into the ROOT HQ. What more could you ask for?
Congrats! Weird that he only has been playing on KR-server? Why has he never tried out getting GM on EU? Miss a bit more info about him too, how long has he been playing, how old is he etc? Would be nice with a interview!
If thats his dream, good luck to him.
I don't really expect him to have much "success" though. You can't just simply delevop into a successful SC2 pro by hard work. It requires a lot of talent as well. Almost all current full-time pros were succesful as part-time players already.
Contrary to guys like carn, Desrow, Lastshadow who could not force their success.
Good luck, it will be tough.
At the root of the issue is a desire to succeed.
ROOT is doing some unorthodox pickups.. I like it.

Never heard of him, but glad they're picking up new players!

CatZ is so rich, when will he buy a state for his clan? I would recommend Germany.
great. Hope to see him in tournaments.

Smart pick up, unknown players probably cost way less too. Congrats to both parties.

Haven't heard of him, but Catz doesn't mess around when it comes to recruiting talent, will have to keep an eye out for him.

Grats. Hope they're not "overspending" like Quantic, recruiting all these people.

Funny guy

I always feel a little bad for ROOT / CatZ when I see player pickups; either the player fades away and never amounts to much, or the player starts tearing up the scene and runs away from ROOT like there is no tomorrow.
Hope that isn't the case, just stay on ROOT for a while after you go big
Sounds like an awesome pickup. What I really like about Catz and Root is how they scout players who are unknown and make them better!
sometimes it can be risky to pick up a new player, but judging from what i've heard of this player, the benefits far outweigh the risks. gl to root and gl to succeed!
OP mentions a lan today. I see nothing about this even in the link they provided.

Desrow's absolutely correct, 10 years of Korean dominance pretty much confirms that talent is achieved only through hard work and constant grinding and not anything "natural".

Yes, but it's extremely hard to catch up with people who have been putting in the constant work and grinding for much longer than you.

God ROOT is so cool, i love when teams pick up players i haven't heard about, it just adds one more person's story to follow.
they succeed at what? they didn't win anything yet
T.T One new player only? And we're going to ROOT for him to Succeed? Man I got a bad ViBE about this. + Show Spoiler +Yeah yeah yeah I fell for it it too, even liquipedia'd the team. STOP USING FAYTH he no plays no more no no
Also I don't think Succeed moving to Peru is the best of ideas.
Did he have a different id for wings of liberty? Weird to see a completely unknown player top the ladder. That being said, I hope he does well in Peru and continues to improve.

Examples of Both please, i'd very much appreciate that!
(And please know, it is common knowledge, MajOr had a clause in his contract SPECIFICALLY to join a KeSPA team, and we openly encouraged him / helped him when it came to that)
