This fan video took me around 2 weeks to create. I wanted to make a video for the team that was radically different from the one I made last season in terms of music and art direction, all while maintaining the core features that people liked (such as slowly introducing the players one by one and a strong crescendo). The video is technically more demanding to produce than the previous, although I thought it was a bit easier since I've improved as a video editor. Sorry to fans that it still isn't in HD due to the poor quality of the GSTL VODs available. I hope that with the improved EHQ VODs this season, I can present future projects in better quality. Thank you for kind words so far. Please keep supporting Team MVP in 2013!
Ok, Let's cut to the chase. Team MVP is one of the best professional StarCraft II teams in the world. They currently rank #1 in team ELO according to the Aligulac.com. This team is so fearsome that the worst they have done in the last two years was reach the semifinals in the GSTL.
But Team MVP has a dark and terrible secret! One they do not want me to tell you! Recently I, neoghaleon55, have been able to get close to this team in order to spy on my favorite player (you know who), but that's when I found out about the terrible truth...
...the fact that Team MVP is not actually who they claim they are!
Ask yourself, how much do you REALLY know Team MVP? How much does anyone? From the outside, they look just like any other team made up of young professional Korean StarCraft players, BUT DON'T BE FOOLED by appearances!! Some of them are over a hundred years old! Others are not even human!! Team MVP lives in complete secrecy because they are trying to hide their true identities from the rest of the world. These secret identities hold reasons why they have become so good at StarCraft.
But today, I will expose them for who they really are! I am doing this so that the world can brace itself for Team MVP's coming in 2013 and hopefully, find a way to defeat them with this new found knowledge. I am risking everything to deliver you this news. If I am dead by the fortnight, please tell my doggie I love him.
Billowy, formerly known as Lure in Wings of Liberty, is a rising star in Team MVP. He recently won the prestigious Neo Star League from China (yea the one with the awesome and uncomfortably sexy intro movie). Basically Billowy just all-killed China, the whole country. And he's making a splash in Code A this season by sending Fan Favorite Jaedong into Code B hell. His strongest matchup at the moment is PvZ.
What most people don't realize is that Billowy is actually...
He spends his weekends in the high seas luring sailors to their deaths by crashing their ships on sharp rocks. Billowy uses his sexy voice and attractive body to entrance those around him, distracting them from the task at hand...such as playing a game of starcraft... It is believed that Jaedong lost the match to Billowy because he was too busy staring at Billowy's scrumptious figure.
On the surface, Dream is the youngest member of team MVP. He recently made a name for himself by earning Second Place at IEM Katowice. He is known to be a TvP specialist and has given SKTT1 Rain nightmares about being kicked out of the GSL.
Dream's young appearance is all but an illusion. He's actually a terror of the night, one who stalks his victims through dreams, turning them into his hellish playgrounds before dispatching them. Dream strikes fear in all his opponent the night before StarCraft matches. Only a true insomniac can have a chance of beating Dream.
DuckSeok, formerly known as Finale, is a veteran Protoss player on Team MVP. He's been known to score a high number of kills in Team Leagues and has made Code S in GSL S4 of 2012. DuckSeok is most famous for his PvZ matchup.
Most people thought Beethoven is dead, but the truth is, he just simply vanished one day. In reality, Beethoven went on a hike to the Alps to find musical inspiration and was buried in an avalanche! Almost two centuries later, his body was discovered, defrosted and reanimated into a Korean Teenager. Beethoven has lost almost all of his memories about his previous life, all save his electrifying piano-playing fingers, which he now uses to kill nerds in StarCraft. He initally took the name Finale as a promise to himself that he would dedicate his second chance at life to finding closure for himself as well as closure to those who cross him! However, Beethoven eventually decided that finale wasn't Korean enough, so he had his name changed to DuckSeok... -__-
(retired as of 2013)
Galaxy is a Zerg player and former member of Team MVP who plays most of his matches abroad. He was a central player in the Taiwanese eSports League (TeSL) and has helped broker a partnership between Taiwanese Team Wayi Spiders and Team MVP in 2012. He is strongest matchup in ZvT.
In the year 2022, a disgruntled StarCraft player bought a killing machine and sent it back in time to assasinate David Kim, lead balance designer for SCII, Blizzard. Luckily the robot was intercepted by Blizzard Securities, captured and its memory wiped clean. The robot was to be dismantled and used for spare parts but Coach Choi of Team MVP took pity and offered to buy it from Blizzard. Since then, the robot has been reprogrammed to play professional StarCraft and has become pretty good at the sport. The name GALAXY is actually an acronym used to signify the robot's make and model. It is rumored that he was made by SamSung. As of 2013, Galaxy has been officially decommissioned, dismantled and sold for spare parts in the black market.
NAKSEO (written in all caps!), formerly known as Monster, is a Zerg player from Team MVP and has proven himself to be a strong asset during Team Leagues. NAKSEO, along with Sniper and DongRaeGu, make up the Team MVP's most fearsome weapon, the Zerg Trifecta. He is known to be a strong ZvP player.
Monster...or Munster, is a reanimated corpse with his own American Television Sitcom in the 1960s. His show enjoyed a fair level of success and popularity until it was phased out by the arrival of colored television. Since then, Monster has been looking for work in a variety of professions. Most of his time from the 1970s to mid 90s were spent toiling as a Janitor at a high school in Korea. In the late 2000s, Monster realized that his passion still lies with the entertainment industry and decided to fully go into professional StarCraft as a way to get on television again. His esports career thus far has earned him moderate success towards this endeavor. Monster recently changed his name to NAKSEO because he likes doodling...
KeeN is the most popular Terran player on Team MVP and also one with the most success in the GSL. His solid performances have given him a recurring role in Code S, the toughest and most prestigious singles league StarCraft tournament in the world. Keen is known to be a strong TvT player as well one who enjoys extravagant victory ceremonies.
In the far future, Commander Keen heads his own interstellar StarShip. During a mission to recover a powerful alien artifact from a race of malicious dung beetles, Keen accidentally fell into a time/space vortex and was transported to the 21st century. Stuck with no way of returning home, Keen decided to become a professional StarCraft player. He now exercises his evolved intellect and space military training to lead digital armies to victory!
Noblesse was a mainstay in GSL Code S during the early days of Wings of Liberty. Since then he fell into the Abyss of Code B but has shown resurgence in 2013 as he made wave by beating his popular teammate, DRG, making it back to Code S in the first GSL of this calendar year. Noblesse is considered one of the top two Terrans on the team, by DRG. He has been historically known to be a strong TvP player.
Noblesse wasn't just a noble, he was a freaking monarch and one of the wealthiest and successful Kings of France. Noblesse, or Louis, was wealthy beyond words. He used his riches to build the Château de Versailles, a massive palace famous for it's extravagance and luxury. Louis also used his wealth to fund many projects and researches, one of which was an expedition to find and secure the Elixer of Life, said to grant immortality. To this end, Louis was successful. He used the Elixer to give himself supernatually long life and to change his appearance from time to time. A few years ago, Louis, now having lived countless lifetimes, decided to become a professional StarCraft pro-gamer, he changed his appearance to that of a Korean Teenager and joined the best team there is. Louis took the name Noblesse as a reminder of his past royal life.
Super, formerly known as Vampire, is a strong Protoss player on Team MVP. In late 2012, he achieved Code S status for the first time and since then have also become a powerful force in team league showings. Super has shown strong form in both PvT and PvP. He recently played as the Ace in the 2013 IPTL Grand Finals and secured MVP's victory over team LG-IM, earning $9,000.00 in cash prizes for his team!
What did you expect?! Well, at least he's honest about his identity .... Vampire claims to have completely given up on blood and now only drinks fruit juices. However, it has not been unusual for his opponents to wake up with bitemarks on their bodies.... Vampire can also sync his brainwaves with his challengers to read their thoughts, which he uses to gain a build order advantage! Unlike the lore, Vampire has no weaknesses...except maybe in strip poker. :OOOO.
Update: Recently, a wild Squirtle appeared. Vampire used blood suck. It was very effective. Vampire has evolved into SUPER vampire. SUPER vampire is no longer weak to strip poker.
Shine is the newest addition to the Team and was one of the strongest Zerg players on his late Team, TSL. Shine's strongest matchup is ZvZ and he has an excellent understanding of late game ZvT as well.
Shine gave up his successful rapping career to follow his dream of becoming a famous professional gamer. His previous life living as a thug have earned him many enemies on the streets. Shine has used the bulk of his money to change his appearance to that of a Korean Teenager in order to hide from the ghosts of his former life. Nowadays, Shine still uses his thug tactics to intimidate his opponents before matches. In his free time, he likes to walk around the team house, singing in his tank-tops.
Swagger is the Team Captain of Team MVP and a legendary Brood War player named SangHo from ages of yore. He was also known as Killer in Wings of Liberty. Swagger's training and experience have helped pull Team MVP together. Many victory interviews from members of the team have credited Swagger to boosting team morale and discipline. Swagger is currently in Code A, but he has had strong Code S showings in the past. His strongest matchup is PvT.
Rumor has it that Swagger goes on a killing spree on the ladder every Friday the 13th. He has turned to StarCraft as a means to escape his violent life of murderous bloodlust. These days, he prefers to kill nerds on ladder rather than hormonal teenagers at some lake resort. In his free time, Swagger likes to challenge Dream to a fight to the death. But since neither of them can actually die, it's actually more of an engaging past time to build team trust...
TAiLS is one of Team MVP's strongest team league players. He acts primarily as a player sniper, capable of taking out top ranked champions with ease. Tails is a particularly strong Kryptonite to Team LG-IM, having defeated the vast majority of their strong roster in team leagues. TailS plays a very eccentric style that is hard to predict. Although most of his snipe builds are all-ins (called Tail-builds), Tails is capable of long macro games such as one he played against LosirA in last season's GSTL.
TAiLS may look like a Korean Teenager, but he is actually...
What?! Did you really think TailS was really Tails? Robotnik is the main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog video games. He hates Sonic most because the character's just annoying to him. However, Robotnik is infatuated with Tails. Robotnik thinks Tails is an awesomely cool looking character and wants to kill TailS in order to BECOME TAILS!!!
Have you ever noticed how Robotnik's hair, TailS's Hair and Tail's hair are all Orange?!
The original Tails for reference.
But Robotnik's natural hair color is not orange, it is actually brown. In 1994, Robotnik successfully captured Tails and experimented on him to splice Tail's genetic code with his own. After successfully turning his own hair orange, Robotnik became bored with the Sonic line of video games and began searching for a more suitable pass time. In 2010, he fell in love with StarCraft II and decided to be a pro-gamer. Taking the ID name of TAiLS, Robotnik uses sophisticated technology to design deadly build orders that few have been able to defeat. He continues to be a menace to this day, luckily, he only wants to take down other professional pro-gamers....and maybe splice their genes with his own...once again.
Sniper is the current GSL Code S Reigning Champion. He ascended to that position after defeating Hyun in the GSL Season 5 Grand Finals. Sniper is also the strongest team league player next to DongRaeGu on team MVP. Last season of the GSTL, Sniper was the only member of the team to achieve a GSTL All-Kill. The team which he performed this act of malevolence on immediately disbanded afterwards out of sadness and shame.
Named Mannequin Skywalker for his stoic performance in The Phantom Menance, Sniper is so evil that he cannot even smile, even after winning the GSL! It is theorized that Sniper's Midi-Chlorians are extra evil and smell like bleach, as such they often disrupt his central nervous system, disabling him from feeling things like pain, pity or love for puppies. In fact, Sniper is one of the only humans unaffected by the power of cute puppies and kitties. If he were to meet one on the street, he would punch it hard in the face and make it cry...the same way he made Eve cry! Anakin Skywalker got lost in a really bad fan fiction and now resides in Korea with no way of going home. He now awaits Disney to fix his time-space continuum so that he may return to his world and become Darth Vader. In the mean time, Anakin is perfectly happy killing nerds in StarCraft, winning Championship, and booting fan favorites from prestigious tournaments.
The last member of Team MVP is
By far the most successful player on Team MVP, a fan favorite, and a strong contender for the championship of every tournament he walks into. DongRaeGu (DRG) is so popular and adored by his fans that some would write entire "WHY TEAM-DRG WOULD WIN THE GSTL" articles for him...or run his fantastic fan page on teamliquid...or make videos of him... ^^;;
To simplify, DRG's list of accolades include: being a Mysterious Korean Ladder God, A Team League God, Special Tournaments Champion, IEM Champion, GSL Champion, 2x MLG Champion, OSL Finalist, Iron Squid Finalist....
His powers include the ability to Forget Where His Wallet Was, or to Build Extra Ultralisk Caverns. Well, ok, so maybe DRG can't fight crime with his powers. But for all his ditziness, he is a supremely good StarCraft player and perhaps one of the most well-liked Zerg players in Wings of Liberty history (because he doesn't use infestors very much!) It is simply tons of fun to watch DRG play, and follow his ditzy life. WHAT CRAZY THINGS WILL HE DO NEXT?! Captain Ditz, rescuing us from boredom! <3
There you have it folks, the entire roster of Team MVP introduced and decrypted. Now you understand why they are each so good at StarCraft. More importantly, now that you are more informed, you can make better decisions....like fleeing from your gaming booths instead of facing one of them. It's ok... no one will blame you!
Brace yourselves everyone! THEY ARE COMING!!

I will definately read it well done!!!! But now when I have looked through I have noticed that Bang is missing He defeated one of the best tosses in SPL Argo in GSL prelims and is on MVP for a long period.

neo, I think you have too much time on your hands ^^ But well done nonetheless, some of these were hilarious! Captain Ditz in particular, because I can really see the reasoning behind that one :p

That is very interesting and all, but one question remains,
What is neoghaleon's true identity???
Well luckily for you I have friends in the appropriate positions to figure out this kind of questions, and after pulling many strings and asking for many favors I have finally amassed the necessary amount of information to make a conclusive statement. I checked and rechecked because I couldn't believe the terrible truth myself, but there is no denying that neoghaleon's true identity is...
Having started his existence as a mundane home appliance, he quickly got tired of it and aspired to way more in life. Through hard work, dedication and an intense love for DRG he upgraded himself from a simple fan to A MOTHERFUCKING PLANE TURBINE, helping team MVP's fame reach heights previously unheard of.
Nobody knows what could stop him or what he's capable of. Beware.

I wasn't trying to be funny.
I know, but this is essentially a fan club - why post if you're only going to be negative? I can respect that you didn't find this funny, but effort was put in and a lot of people thought it was funny. Posting "Not that funny" just seems... Unnecessary.
This is so cool. I love the metal logos used in the background. I wish someone would make one for Startale though (although without a solid protoss lineup I doubt their chances this GSTL).

If it's a fan club, why isn't it in Fan Clubs?
I like MVP - in fact, they're probably my favourite Korean team - but this post didn't do it for me. So I was expressing that.

You haven't been around here very long, have you? It's very common for a "Why Team X Will Win" thread to be made by devoted fans, one for each team. Just search it.

Galaxy plays HoTS casually, that's all. He starts college in 2weeks.
Just because vampire isn't in the house doesn't mean he doesn't play for them right, or does it? I truly don't know. I'm kind of curious since he, Monster, and Noblesse made up the the trio for their team of strong code A caliber players that made them a deep team.
I had dinner with him January 6th, so my apologies for saying December (indirectly). He retired the day before (January 5th) and it was his last day in Seoul. We're very close friends and talk often.

Haha, those secret identities are hilarious, and disturbingly fitting. Well done as always, Neoghaleon55. :p MVP is out of the pre-season showmatches, but I expect we'll see them with a more complete line-up once the actual season starts. Some players were sorely missing today I feel.
Was hoping one of them would be just some random guy they pulled off the street cause he was really good at SC2, not everybody can be famous you know? The Vampire one was close enough to an anit-joke and over all this was freaking awesome lol.

They didn't account for the strength of Cella. Holy Check!
Cella isnt associated with the Axiom/Acer GSTL team iirc
Oh ? I thought so. Who's the coach of this alliance then ?
As far as I know, Crank is serving as like a player/coach for the team. I didnt see the games last night, but who was decided which player to send out? Was it just like a pick by committee type thing? I know he wasnt there since he's in the UK so I was curious about how it was done
