Great photos... However, after watching Day 1 and Day 2 of this, I'm already sick of afterburners and widow mines. I'm surprised we're not seeing more Hellbats.

There is an SK Planet patch on Thorzain's shoulders. Quite interesting.

That one of Stephano and Slasher is pretty funny.

Slasher giving Stephano the "Oh, you used to beat Koreans?" look.

I don't think people are that stupid to not know JJakji. He just recently destroyed MVP in GSTL all by himself...

Made it into the Photos thread SO jazzed. I'm the one holding "Wet" in the "Wet for Ret" sign btw. We cheered so fucking hard for Ret we all lost our voices after that match. He should have won it, he played WAY better than an 0-3 loss result shows.

Nice pictures :D That terran power couple in a picture together.

Anyone know which game that error message came up?
|
Here's some other fan photos from Day 2. There's some serious red eye-ing in our photos with Ret unfortunately :/ maybe I can shop some of that out at a later date, but man it was still such a proud moment. Ret played SO well today, it was great to get the crowd so into that game and chanting "wet for Ret" and to let him know that we all still loved him even though he lost, especially for us later on talking to him in person it was a great chance to let him know that he played like a god and deserved a win against the greatest Terran of all time because he really did. LIQUID FIGHTING!
Greatest picture of Thorzain of all time. Love you Spoon Terran

I feel like you didn't watch a single ZvT the whole tournament :/ Life was the only Zerg that looked like he was competent against a Terran, and Polt didn't ever make widow mines and did maybe 50% of the drop harass of Innovation and Flash. Every Zerg was down by 50 supply by the mid game when they're normally at an advantage all tournament long, Ret actually managed to have a supply lead in game 3 and held on amazingly well in game 1 and 2 despite the insane efficiency of the widow mines against ling/bling and the constant damage of boosted medivacs. Honestly, if this series was replayed post the patch that is sure to be headed down the pipeline here pretty soon, I would pick Ret all the way. Zerg was just outmatched from the start. Denying it is simply delusional, Ret played fantastically and shouldn't have been 3-0'd, he deserved better. When whatever buffs and nerfs hit that are sure to come Ret is going to show everyone up. None of the other foreign Zergs stood a chance, and Ret had to go up against none other than Flash.

I agree Ret played pretty good, but saying he deserved to win is just being biased. Flash played so freaking well, and was definitely the better player. I am really impressived by his macro maxing out 200/200 at the 14 min mark against a zerg on approx 140 supply

Great pictures. Loved them : )
Thank you!
Need moar Flash, Mvp, Life, Bomber !
|
Very nice pics, thanks for the good work!

Oooooook, I will admit to heavy bias #Wet4Ret forever, but seriously, EVERY Terran maxed around the 13-14 minute mark against EVERY Zerg all tournament long, not just Flash against Ret. Until Life vs Polt not a single Zerg managed any real advantages. Not to take away from Flash's victory or play, or to make excuses for Ret. I absolutely agree, Flash's play was stellar and immaculate as usual, but was so enhanced by the strength of widow mines and medivacs that Ret got beaten by an exaggerated margin imho. I think it would have gone to game 5 at the very least had Ret not been forced to play from behind all game long by widow/bio and medivac drops.
I think that between there being an imbalance in relative player skill in the Z and T representation at this tournament, AND the slight imbalance of the abilities of the Terran units, Terran is appearing to be very overpowered. Life was the only Zerg to take more than A map off a Terran the entire tournament. Polt wasn't using as much widow mine play/mass medivac drops as Last or Innovation were, looked kind of sloppy (likely due to it being 2:00am) and Life still had to play like a fucking mad man to beat him in game 5. It'l like a reversal of WoL ZvT almost, where the Terrans had to outplay the Zerg in the lategame to win against a maxed BL/infestor force, not the Zergs have to outplay the Terrans in the mid game to survive against the widowbio and medivac speed threats to even think about going to the lategame without a huge disadvantage.
