When the rosters for the next month of Proleague were submitted, Snow's named was omitted from the roster. This is due to his retirement as a professional Starcraft 2 player.
A promising talent in Brood War, he claimed a crucial win in the Hybrid Proleague final against Shine in what would be the last ever televised Proleague BW match. Although switching to Terran for Starcraft II, he has not delivered the results he was hoping for.
A spokesperson from CJ said that Snow felt he could not achieve any more in Starcraft II and has thus decided to pursue another career. While his team mates were saddened by the news, he wished them all good luck and to stay strong for the future.
Snow was rising in 2010/2011 although he slumped for a bit. I'm happy for him cause he was wasting his talent in CJ (he never really "got" sc2, like Leta and maybe Horang2). Go back to BW!
man what a shame, i still remember jaedong vs snow, the guy put so much t heart, and a real fighting spirit, when he played against jaedong, even when he lose, i gained a lot respect for snow that day.

He was the dude with the insane PvT record for a while wasnt he? Taking maps off Flash too?
Yeah he played protoss in BW. And yeah, that's why it was a very pleasant surprise that he showed sublime PvZ in his MSL Ro8 with Jaedong when everyone had written him off before it started. He almost had the fifth game, too.
Anywhere I can find the original (Korean) series vs JD? ( I would love to watch them tomorrow.) The Liquipedia page for the tournament links to a now private video

Oh damn... I loved Snow. Such a brilliant and promising player in BW. I will never forget that game when he tricked Flash with erratic expanding and a slow carrier transition - beating Flash in the late game at a time when he more or less never lost
Also that series agasint Jaedong when he played like the "love child of Bisu and Stork".

Why do you say that?
CJ's epic main protoss line in BW (Movie was a PvZ specialist, Snow PvT, and Horang2 PvP, it was a pretty great trio when used to snipe properly) has now all retired from sc2. Hero was a zerg player in BW, and Bong didn't become any good until SC2.
What a shame, the kid had displayed amazing potential in BW. Had the scene thrived for a longer period, I have no doubt he would have been one of the big names going forward.

YES!! I used to be a fervent JaeDong fan (before he switched to SC2) and watching that match I was like "Okay, I don't care if Snow wins this, he would so deserve it!"

Indeed, these were one of the last games where JD still had his unsurpassed ZvP brilliance. Epic matches, epic!

There should be an influx of ex-a-teamers joining SSL once this season's proleague is over. I doubt guys like Hoejja, Leta, Hyuk and now present after thoughts like BeSt will keep playing sc2 after their contract is up
I feel like if Bisu and BeSt didn't get paid so much theyor if they were on CJ entus they would have retired by now too. SC2 protoss is a completely different game then Sc1 protoss. It makes me sad so many greats have retired now. The old guard is almost extinct from PL now. Only 3 dragons remain.

they're all coaches now basically (well, except best). Hyuk especially is straight up a coach now, he wears suits and stuff to matches. They'll probably stay as coaches
Sad to see. His PvZ Bo5 vs Jaedong was one of the best series ever played, and I still think his PvT ace match vs Flash was the most brilliant gameplan and execution I've ever seen.

most of the dragons are still intact
Yeah your right I wrote that much to early in the morning. We only ever see jangbi, free, and stork
Oh Snow; I remember you as a new comer and pillar for CJ Bringing Jaedong to the fifth set of the ro8 and pulling games off Flash; You'll be missed Oh how I miss the proleague of old
Such a shame. He could have really been the next big protoss in bw. I remember him taking JD to game 5 in the ro8 (or ro4) in some MSL.... GREAT multitasking
Sucks, but the turnover in e-sports is huge. Your peak doesn't last long and for every Snow that retires, you'll have a promising rookie like Bunny to take his place. Outside of the outliers like Flash, Fantasy, etc., the cycle will continue on and on, old players like Calm retiring and going into a coaching role, and new players taking over for the people who left their spot behind. Even if guys like Hoejja and Best aren't really doing much, if they do retire, I'm sure they'd just become apart of the coaching staff of their team due to their longevity and leadership.
Will always remember CJ Snow for his Bo5 with Jaedong and because of that I think it such a shame that professional bw wasn't maintain in korea despite the change for sc2 . Anyway good hunting snow and hope you will be successful in life in your studies and working career .

What you say is natural but some of retirements lately were simply based on game transitioning not on natural flow you described . Some players played great BW 2 weeks before their transition to SC2, after the transition they are 'noobs', its re-specialization problem they are facing right now. Its kind of sad to see players from Tving RO4 play mediocre SC2 for their potential (zero, Jangbi, Fanta).
This is highly annoying as a fan of such players, you loved them for their games in other game, and now you have to see them struggle, what conclusion such fun has to make? That they are not as good in adaptation as others?
The same happened in CS GO, arguably the most dominant teams in latest years gets picked apart like noobs by guys they used to beat. "They adapted better".
Maybe this should be in the BW forums. Seems like not much sc2 fan knew who Snow was.
I've been meaning to ask about Leta. He gets no playing time at all. Is he done too? Skyhigh also hasnt been getting much play time either. Man thinking about CJ they were stacked hard man..............

Leta is pretty much retired also... Had difficulty with transition to sc2 since he also raceswitched to protoss (snow went P->T), i'm pretty sure he was removed from the roster last round.
Skyhigh got some play time in an earlier round, but in A-K HerO/Hydra/Effort are always played and Bbyong is normally the 4th man
Not sure what this says but he just posted this on FB. It probably says something about what he's gonna be doing next.

@NicksonReyes It doesn't, just saying that he saw that the article had been went up and he is thankful and apologetic to the fans who always cheered him on and improved his gamer experience. Ending the statement with note that he hopes to see them later in the different conditions.
I hope Snow succeeds in whatever future he chooses to pursue. I'm sure most progamers are dedicated enough to make such things happen!
