A few weeks ago, I made a ranking of teams according to number of players in WCS. Some people were interested in a ranking according to WCS points, so here it is! NB: Hellokitty's Premier Points, IdrA's Challenger Points and Dimaga's Premier Points did not count towards their respective team points as they were not on the team during that particular event. LucifroN's and VortiX's points earned whilst under Karont3 do not add up in favour of mouz.
Hope you enjoy it, and I hope I didn't do too many errors!

very cool and great research!

once stephano retires liquid will be in first

Good job ! Surprising to see SKT1 and KT Rolster kinda low in the rankings when you see their rosters.

you mean when you see their rolsters right?

myi tied with kt only because stardust won dreamhack^^

What will they think of next. Just look at all those mini-event points outside of Korea. Wowza. Goes to show you how much meaning attending next to all events go. There really is no team perspective though because it's all about the individual accomplishment. ~_~

What do you think that's attributed to? They attend next to no events. Guy focuses on events outside of Korea. Seems pretty obvious to me. KeSPA has to attend more international events.

nah, WJS is third and they are the same. Problem is, they don't have enough players in WCS and the ones they do have not actually manage to place high/get into season finals (for KT it's only Flash Ro16 and Crazy, for SKT only Parting, Rain and Fantasy so far. Besides Parting, none of them got to Top8 and none of them got to season finals.

Positive about all results? Because I was checking the full standings list 10min ago and Naniwa by himself has 1100 points. Plus SortOf's 475. Either way great job n.n

Seems pointless to not give the points to a team if the player who earned them did so while on a different team.
|
EG Fighting! Thanks for posting this, it was interesting to look at, and will be cool to see if Season 2 is anything like season 1, or if there is a shakeup.

Wonder how this would look like if the score were devided by the number of players.

very cool, thanks for putting in the effort.

Very cool list.
Vega Squadron should change to MiA now, as 25 points are Starbucks.

Vega Squadron should change to MiA now, as 25 points are Starbucks. those 25 points are FireCake's actually ^^ I won't be adding WCS Season 2 points until the events are completed. Also, the points are not allotted according to whom the players currently plays for, but who the player played for during the result achieved. The aim is to show that during that particular period in time, the team's investment in that player was worth it.

since 8 years i am everytime still confused seeing tl with the dutch flag

Haha this is actually really cool to see :D Hope you'll keep it updated for a long long time =)

So we have team Innovation, team Stardust and of course, team Polt :D
|
This would be awesome as an automatic function to liquipedia WCS ranking ! (with more detailled result) Fun stuff good job.
|
|
so teams which are fighting in 3 regions have more points than teamd in only one region ? Crazy ....

Updated with WCS Korea Season 2. IM snatches the second spot away from Liquid!
|
Included WCS Europe S2 points! MVP, mousesports and SK Gaming shot up the rankings now!
Waiting for WCS AM Challenger to include that now.
|
I love this perspective on teams´ success. Thanks!

|
Updated with WCS Season 2 Finals...Team Acer up 7 ranks! Bomber's win also put StarTale in 6th, but it makes no difference at all to EG, as despite StarTale's win, they still gained the same amount of points due to having both JD and aLive in the finals.
Also, note that WCS America Season 2 has not yet been inputted as I am waiting for the Challenger groups to be played out.
|
To be fair EG has the biggest roster out of all the other western teams so they can go to more events/have a better chance of getting more wcs points
|
So far, EG took 4 kong trophies out of 8 possible (stephano, revival & 2x jaedong). Pretty sick.
|
Finally updated with all of Season 2! The Chinese teams got a massive boost through WCS America, and EG's lead is now gargantuan. Team Liquid took the 2nd spot away from Incredible Miracle despite First's great performance.

Pretty awesome thread !

updated with Dreamhack Bucharest! Ence jumps 4 ranks to 39th after elfi's feline performance and Acer overtakes their friendly rivals Axiom!

updated with IEM NY results. GSTL teams officially better than KeSPA teams!

STX Soul
Innovation got 800 points while on Acer (out of 6050 total). If we were to count all of Innovation's points toward Acer, Acer would be in 3rd place, at 10,350 points.

Also, it does not yet include any of the WCS Season 3 results, as I'll be waiting for Challenger League to finish.

All them EG points from WCS AM
|
Updated WCS with WCS Korea Season 3! SouL earned the most points this season, undeterred by the loss of their corporate sponsor, very closely followed by SK Telecom T1.
The worst performers this season are Samsung Galaxy, who have seemingly spent this season playing with their new Samsung Gear smart watches and new Samsung Galaxy phones rather than practicing! The second worst performers were FXO, followed by StarTale.
Note that JangBi's points did not count towards Samsung's, as he retired without playing any matches. Furthermore, Woongjin's two Challenger league players, ZerO and Aria, were released before the matches took place, so their points did not add in favour of Woongjin.
Will add WCS EU and AM once Challenger league finishes!

Best Performers: 1) Team Acer 2) mousesports 3) SK Gaming 4) MVP 5) Dignitas
Worst Performers: Roccat/Ence eSports
New Entries in the Ranking: AT Gaming Core Gaming
WCS America results won't be included until the end of Challenger League!
|
Updated with WCS Season 3 Finals.
SouL earns a massive 4,500 points to overtake IM and Team Liquid as in now in 2nd place!
Surprisingly, SK Gaming is now the 5th best foreign team.
|
Updated with WCS America Season 3, the last point-distributing tournament for WCS 2013, which means the rankings are now concluded. Whilst it is obviously true that BlizzCon still has to be played, it does not distribute points so it cannot really be reflected in this ranking.
The best performing team for WCS America, was unsurprisingly EG, followed by the one man army of Polt. Incredible Miracle came third, and Liquid fourth.
Notably, what was once one of the best North American teams, Clarity Gaming, gained no points.
IvDgaming made huge improvements with Apocalypse's great run.
Two newcomers to the rankings, both Canadian! Team Killing Spree and Deimos Esports.
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I have! I will do another one for 2014, and I'll try and input this into Liquipedia, if they'll have it!
|
Once again proving that mouz is the best foreign team.

Disappointed that Prime couldn't make the top 10 but it was a rough year for everyone on the team not named Maru. Hopefully they can come back stronger in 2014 and show some signs of life among their new players and some of the old stars.
