I guess it depends on what numbers you say are successful, but i will agree they have "consistency" with viewer numbers. I would say dragon and select also get good consistent numbers also.

You know I used to be like that also, but then you start to see the details of the whole gameplay, and you start to care for a X and Y teams.
C9 team in LCS NA, or Korean teams on OGN really have a strong teamwork play that are worth watching.
Has Demuslim started streaming during different hours or something? I usually tune into his stream for a little while most days but I haven't noticed it much this past month.
I wonder if these viewer stats reflect if new people try out SC2 or not. Judging by the stats HOTS haven't done much at all for streamers the total amount of SC2 stream watchers. It's depressing if you compare it to the other games around that have gown up a lot.

Starcraft is still the only premier esport with a pay gate which means the community is impossible to expand much past where we are.
At least that's what I tell myself to feel better about the situation anyway.

Yeah well, 2010 Starcraft 2 was packed with people. My FB friends kept adding me.. people I haven't talked to in years. I remember asking them how to make a chatroom, and no one knew.
All of these people left very quickly. Now I do know some people play games for a very short period, but I don't see SC2 being attracting to anyone new anymore. Blizzard always gets a free ride on their games and they have a big tendancy now to screw it up ( see D3).
The "they are free to play" excuse is bad too. Almost all of the Udyr ( a champion in LoL) I see on ranked solo queue have a 30$ new skin.
Looking at this list I'm proud that I've done Logos for a couple of the top streamers, done overlays for team liquid streamers, and worked with Tastosis way back in the day. Makes me feel a little more accomplished as I continue to hone my graphical skills. Also, makes me feel very gracious to have gotten to work so many very cool people. Thanks Starcraft community for being awesome!

There is a massive difference between buying a skin for a f2p game that you have become invested in and paying $60+ up front for a game that you have not played before. Just because LoL players also spend money it does not take away from the fact that a f2p game will always attract a lot more players.
Can people in this community PLEASE stop being so doom and gloom all the time. Honestly, I barely even read teamliquid anymore because people's constant insecurities and posting of depressing shit. If you like watching sc2 and want higher viewer numbers you should do something about it yourself instead of finding various reasons or things to blame. Whenever a tournament is on I know I always make sure to tell all my friends to watch it. I've convinced at least 4 people to buy GSL subscriptions this way. If everyone that currently watches brings 5 others into watching guess what game would be the most watched right now?
I personally like Starcraft 2 because of its extremely high skill level and the players, but I have been watching Dota streams a lot lately. To me, SC2 can get boring unless it is the GSL
It would be nice to see SC2 become a team sport as well (BW did it for some time before it got banned) to add a bit more flavor to the game.
Also, other games such as Dota and LoL at least have a variety of heroes/champions while SC2 is limited to a number of build orders which can make the game stale time to time. WCS Korea is the only place where we see new strategies because of its preparation based format.
