It is great news (that Innovation is joining Acer, not that STX is disbanding). Now we can see more of him in foreign tournaments!!!

I don't know why people cling to this idea that kespa has any control over jd. They couldn't even keep innovation from leaving instead of joining another kespa team. kespa's "power" has nothing to do with it. if EG got JD on a loan (ie, if JD was under contract with T8 at the time of his transfer to EG), then the contract is binding. they could always work something out, of course, which is what happens in soccer all the time, but contracts are contracts.
Pretty sure EG management said that wasn't true tho :/

To add on to that. I doubt a man with JD`s intelligence would let himself be handed around without any say in it. It will be his decision where to go. And as far as i can tell, he seems to be happy where he is now. I doubt he will waste his time before he has to go to the military living in a cramped apartement with 20 other dudes, almost never leaving korea.

I would certainly like clarification on this point if I am indeed wrong on it. I thought it was common knowledge that the circumstances surrounding JD/EG/T8 were a little unique?

he lives in a team house right now, bro. and we have no idea how important proleague is or is not to JD. but I would bet he is a little more interested in it than you seem to be.

You want to compare the amount of freedom in a kespa teamhouse and in the eg teamhouse? And i am not your bro, dude.

you have no idea how the EG team house operates. and considering they spent 4 or so months under coach park (which for some reason largely coincides with JD improving! how weird!) I would imagine the differences have been pretty minimal. at any rate, your original post made no mention of the relative "freedom" of one team house or another.

The rumour was declared false by EG officials. It was all about making it seem like KeSPA was still in control of JD.

People get raises over stuff like this.

He looks more invested/emotional in the foreign tournaments that he went to than when he played PL it seems to me. Given how joining EG has been so good for JD, I seriously doubt he would prefer T8 over EG.

Taeja is not the best example since his training doesn't seem to have ever changed.

oh and I guess it might be worth pointing out that that reddit thread is apparently a bunch of bullshit in regards to STX disbanding. the korean article in question is just speculation, though it appears to confirm/assume that Innovation is joining Acer.

considering it's essentially been leaked already, no, I don't think anyone is going to get a raise for fucking up

The article might be sensationalized but stx is most definitely disbanded as a sponsored team. Some of the players might stick together and play as " soul ".

It is Innovation for sure. And yes STX SouL isn't going to last long, it's just a matter of time when it will be announced. /sad face, I actually hope Innovation stays at a Korean team.
