either he's completely crumbled and turned into a really bad player, or he's super nervous about playing proleague.
he hasn't been seen in person for months
he's been streaming some SC2 on NA recently. I hope he's not dead.
TB mentioned that Proleague was impossible to commit to with players playing in foreign tournaments, WCS AM/EU included.
If Byun is playing on NA then he's probably going to try to qualify for WCS AM, thus his absence from Proleague. Might as well develop someone else if he's not going to be around all the time
First take yo SKT has a crazy good lineup. MVP pulled out the big guns against them, but I think SKT has it. Dream and Super should have good proleague results. Prime looks deadx2. Not really a surprise. What is surprising is that HerO and Trap are the two interchangeable parts in IM's lineup. Only a little strange because I thought those two would be their best proleague players, and they each sit out one while Yonghwa, Squirtle, and Byul go both times. Samsung looks pretty dead against Jin Air. Maru should roll, and I think Savage and sOs have wins too. Weird to see no Roro. KT vs. CJ honestly looks like the closest match. Sora vs. Flash should be great. I would be surprised if KT doesn't field this group of four every time. Man SKT's lineup is scary.
Is there going to be a fantasy league for Proleague this season like last season? Now that I am more familiar with the kespa players I want to participate.
I apologize if I missed something whole searching the forums.

It's possible considering Trap and HerO actually have SPL experience, but Yonghwa has scored the most all-kills for the team in GSTL and Squirtle won every game he was played in for them as well. Byul is there for diversity I guess >__>
No Mvp or Nestea in either one of IMs matches.... Also bo5s suck. The bo7 lineups with a required 1 player of each race were much more interesting than these are.
On December 27 2013 15:33 Zenbrez wrote: Guess they removed the "1 of every race per match" rule.
There might be an "at least 2 different races in the lineup'' rule. It is likely that they would do this to make games more entertaining with a greater variety of matchups. We'll have to see whether any team sends out an all Protoss lineup.

It's not up yet but I know they are working on it! Should be soon.

Certainly Yonghwa has been formidable in teamleagues, and I don't think it is a really poor decision to switch these two or anything. I think it's good Byul is there, the protoss lineup needs some flavor from somewhere
KTerran Rolster are going to have to fly the flag until they bring back the "one of each race" rule - which they must be thinking pretty seriously about doing after seeing these line-ups? Either that or making some terran-imba maps, which would be exciting.

They decided to change it, probably becuase either viewership dropped as matches were too long, or teams wanted to downsize a bit. But playoffs are Bo7, if that's some consolation for you. Anyway full 1v1 Proleague has been Bo5 most of the way. There was even a season where they had Bo5 with no ace.
On a side note, Challenge: Who dares to put RorO on anti team?

hmmm although i am protoss user since the days of brood wars.. the race restriction needs to come back to proleague...not ASAP
all i see is green protoss zealot symbols on those shits wtf....IM vs Prime...and T1 vs Prime..no Terrans? Not counting Ace Match, they should make restrictions. like 2 max. same races per line up.
man nobody is gonna watch that shit and this is coming from a long long protoss user -__-
good bye proleague! i guess i won't see you next year
Since protoss match ups are by far the most exciting to watch, both strategically and mechanically, I am really glad to see a lot of them playing again :D

Why would ByuN not be playing just because he's trying to qualify for WCS NA? He doesn't need to be there in person until the RO16 if he gets there, and he hasn't even qualified from Premier League yet. Given how weak Prime's lineup is, you'd think they'd want him in the lineup while his schedule DOESN'T conflict.
When I last saw ByuN in Code A/U&D/GSTL Wolfdor would talk a lot about how uncomfortable and frustrated he looked while playing, especially during TvP. Maybe he's not mentally where he's supposed to be.
On an unrelated note, also disappointed to see that there is no race restriction imposed. Looks like we'll see almost all-P out of IM, Prime and SKT in particular. MVP is really the only team where we're likely to see fewer than 2 P in every match. At least this isn't WoL; nonstop PvP in WoL would have just been wrist-slitting painful. In HotS PvP is at least an entertaining matchup.
Oh well, still hyped for DRG vs PartinG and Flash vs Sora in particular!

The 2v2 was just a fun throw-in for the preseason. Was never suggested that the regular season would have any 2v2. Can't say it upsets me personally; practically every SC2 2v2 I've seen (including in the SPL preseason) has been a cheese-fest.
Why would they not force one of each race in a matchup is beyond me. This will be the PvProleague even more then before... Not that I mind, but some people may be pissed
God.. CJ and KT are not laughing this out. Big guns versus Big guns.
There is quite a lot of protoss. Every player is going to have a CRAZY record against P Because they will have SO MUCH practice that's going to be good. I predict achange in the meta just because of this season with so many P
EDIT : Oh my god ! ISLAND BASE ! hahaha this is going to be so cool.

As if Prime didn't suck enough, now no Byun in the lineup.
No Fantasy is super disappointing, but with SKT's roster and the abolishment of the one of each race rule, it isn't super surprising. Hopefully he'll make an appearance in week 2.
I really hope Nestea and MVP make semi-regular appearances, though I doubt it.
Flash versus Sora is the hype match of the week for me.
3-1 SKT MVP 3-0 Prime IM (yes !) 3-2 JAGW SGK 3-0 KT ROLSTER vs WHOEVER (fuck it... 3-2 for KT). 3-1 MVP IM 3-0 SKT Prime
Edit : Just checked on LP... These prediction are useless with the new maps
Did someone test those ?
Outboxer will feature all matchup (no TvT for R1 so...). ZvZ, TvP, PvZ, PvP. I think this will be interesting. No one seems to think it is a Z,T or P map at the moment.
Looking at SSB. You get 2pvZ, one TvZ and one PvP so it's basicly the same.
On December 27 2013 23:20 DavoS wrote: It didn't dawn on me how scary SKT was until I saw that week one lineup
Yeah that's quite true
KT isn't bad either, and I can actually see SKT lose the match against MVP.
Going by the first week Lineups, it's hard to tell which team is the strongest, but a few teams are looking not as strong as others. Prime looks pretty weak, and KHAN sadly as well if Stork doesn't improve. As for MVP it's hard to tell what they'll achieve.

sometimes it's not easy to separate whether you are rooting for a particular player since he's on a team you like, or rooting for a team because a player you like is on it.

SKT, KT, IM looking strong. Prime and Khan seems really undermanned. MVP is hard to decipher. CJ could be stronger than many expects coming into the season, they've dominated many cups and qualifiers lately.

This is a bit off topic but the only thing I dont like about FPL is that they dont have a winner for the whole season. They can award a winner every FPL round but keep the scores all the way through and have one winner at the end. It rewards people who are more consistent. Like every other fantasy league out there is based on an entire season for the sport. I never understood why we have to have it round by round when pro league is a full season. I want to know who the best FPLer is based on a full season not round by round.

Not with that draw. I do like MVP's chances over the other new challengers this season.
Oh I'm not sure. If Dream brings his A-game, I can definitely see him beating Rain. Super should be able to dispatch soO (he went 3-2 against him last time they played) unless the latter remembers how to play like he did last GSL. This leaves DRG vs PartingvZ which, as we all know, hasn't been the most reliable of match-ups recently. If DRG manages to beat Parting, I think MVP takes it. Otherwise, having to rely on Shine beating SK isn't the greatest thing that can happen to a team, and an ace match will be tough. But with these draws, I think it's a possibility. SKT isn't as unbeatable as some people would have it.

Soulkey pretty much lost all of his games since he is on skt, shine has this ez
On December 28 2013 02:01 Zealously wrote: I reckon MVP will beat SKT
They would be in a nice spot if Dream beats Rain, but the odds are against him.
Certainly, but Dream for me is always kind of up and down. Sometimes he'll show up and stomp anyone (Rain included) and sometimes he'll be kind of lacklustre. They'll need the right one to show up but it's not impossible.
Stellar line ups all round, Flash vs Sora is my pick (what else could I pick being a Flash fan!).
First time I've seen Sejong and Outboxer. They look most interesting with Sejongs expand-towards-opponent, and Outboxers NeoPlanet-esq layout - the return of the island expansion - can see lots of base races on this one with armies wondering around the middle in different directions.
Are there going to be any matches at a better time? Really liked how a few matches last year were late night Saturday so I could at least watch 1 or 2...

I, as an Eastern European, am rather pleased that they start airing at noon instead of 5am like last season.
This SKT team must be one of the most stacked teams in PL history. Seems like on any given night they can field four players all better than the opposing team's best player.
Seems like MVP has a lot of trust in Shine now for whatever reason. He's playing Soulkey and Trap in these matches, and was sent out against herO in preseason.

MVP wouldn't necessarily know who Shine's opponent would be when they put him on a map. But the fact that they sent him out twice does speak to their trust in him.
DRG and Flash my 2 favouritest players in PL hrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrngh sorry guys but i can't have you in my fantasy team i have a feeling you're gonna flop T.T
At first all of my other senses and thoughts were overwhelmed as Proleague is only a couple days from starting and the very first match is mvp vs skt!! WOW!!!
Then i was reminded of the protoss domination that proleague came to be and the lack of terran hit me. HEY, Where the hell is Fantasy!!! (After reading the second post, the player obviously)
I think IM was really happy when they were told they don't need to use every race in every match :-P Makes them infinitely stronger with their sick Protoss lineup xD
Got herO, Stats, Bbyong and Sora in my team, they'll all play tomorrow in CJ vs KT. Not sure if I should hope for all of them winning or a Ace match with like herO winning against Flash. ^_^

It probably will go all wrong though.
You should hope they win 3-0, because then you'll get an extra point from the player that didn't play
