Blizzard has announced the schedule and starting dates for all three WCS regions. A complete schedule/calendar can be found on the official WCS site or the Liquipedia portal page. The format for Challenger League has changed drastically since the 2013 season, and an overview of the changes can be found here.

Challenger | Jan 21 | 17:00 GMT (+00:00) | Premier Ro32 | Feb 18 | 17:00 GMT (+00:00) |
GSL
Round | Start Date | Broadcast Time |

Challenger | Jan 15 | 09:00 GMT (+00:00) | Code S Ro32 | Feb 5 | 09:00 GMT (+00:00) |

Yeah it's not perfect. I won't be able to watch all of NA but I care least for that region anyway. I'll just fall asleep watching as much as possible! Back to my usual 24 hour WCS Schedule it is!
|
GSL I'll make time for that, WCSNA dude it's bomber, ofcourse I'm watching, WCS EU is diner time usually xD
|
What happened to not saturating the time slots with WCS content? I was under the impressions they were going to separate the regions by days, not hours again. Not that I'm complaining, it's just what I remember
|
On a side note, why did they change the Liquipedia Portal page. It was so good last year, had everything in one place and now there's this huge, sprawling ugly calendar rather than nice countdown's showing who is playing. Yuk.
|
I think the idea of beginning and completing Challenger before starting Premier for that season is an excellent idea. It gives an easy to understand linear progression to the season.
|
Europe and GSL broadcast times pretty good, 'Murica horrible, but I don't care.
|
OH SHIT 15th of January already... omg i am not ready yet

Nothing changed basically. Only one hour difference with last year, so it's ok.

Not much of a difference for me, GSL for breakfast, WCS EU for dinner, but no WCS NA, though if there will only be 2 broadcast days per region per week then it will certainly be easier to catch up with the WCS NA vods.
|
Might have to take a few days off work to watch all of this O.O
|
GSL at breakfast, EU for dinner, AM for Late Night with Jaedong.
Can't complain at all.
|
|
Code S starts on the most inconvenient date for me :'(
|
YESSSSS CODE S IS BACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!! Sorry about the bad timing for anyone that's being inconvenienced, sucks to suck :D
|
GSL same time as always. Unless MVP has a deep run again I won't even watch anything of EU and NA is shitty as always, though Jaedong will help me stay awake and deal with little sleep.

I finished my university exams like 3 weeks ago, I guess it differs school to school? Or you're in high school?

I hate having to get up at 4am. Guess I won't be watching much of the GSL yet again.

Does anyone know what the format of Code A is?
|
... Europe when I head to work in the morning, America when I'm still at work, and GSL when I'm sleeping.
Good thing there's this fancy magic called the VOD.
|
Hows my little Xeno doing? Has he cut through the ranks to the heart of WCS?

If you actually looked thru the schedule, you would see that the broadcasts are far more spread out and max 4 days per week, 3 days per week if you exclude GSL. Generally, you have EU/US on tues/wed or wed/thurs and then either EU or US on friday or saturday. I think I only saw 1 week where they were broadcasting 5 days a week, there are no broadcasts are scheduled for primetime in US over the weekends as far as i saw, leaving plenty of space for weekend tourneys to have the primetime slots.
Why do u think MLG got back in to SC2? because their weekend time slots are no longer taken by WCS.
I really wish people would actually look thru things before commenting and just assuming that the summary up to means it will be broadcast 7 days a week.
|
Wait a minute, is there no longer a Code A? (also sorry if anyone's mentioned this yet, haven't read past the first page)
Edit: So the link to the list of changes has an infographic for WCS KR that says Code A, so is this just a typo in the OP or is it not clear?
|
Because I have the same time-zone as Colombia, I am only going to be able to watch WCS AM live.. sometimes. But I hope they upload the VoDs on YouTube and not only on Twitch, because I can not watch those Twitch with my super-slow internet-connection.
|
Nice, late afternoon on the east coast, exactly what I need!

Code S is so far away still but I do agree with people saying that it seems better to have the Challenger/Code A first
|
Oh, that actually works for me! Cool beans

In Asia GSL is during my lunch time mostly :D

So awesome that the challengers feed in to the premier leagues, now some lower ranked players in their peak condition can challenge for the title!
|
perfect european time schedule: work and watch - coming home and watch!

I love Western Europe.
GSL for breakfast. WCS EU for dinner.
And a bit of WCS AM if I can stay a bit late.
This is really great! I feel for those this schedule doesn't really fit

Probably because it allowed the players more time to prepare for their next match, if you squeeze in a round of challenger (resp. premier) league between a round of premier (resp. challenger) league. But I like this format better as well from a spectator point of view.
I don't like how WCS EU already starts at 6pm local time, I'm still at work during that time...

I admit its quite hard. But when one stream is waiting for a game, the other might be playing!
But technically you don't need two screens then, oh well fuck, stop being dumb Ragna...

I got 4at work but don't have time to watch

I'm most interested in watching WCS EU, but time only permits me for GSL and AM(if i wake up early)
|
Wow I really love that these are coordinated now. Will be much easier to keep up

What's funny is that I have two screens and one of them is used to display some starcraft most of the time (when there's matches, obviously).

I tried staying up for gsl once...ONCE
But EU and AM are still on ok times for me. I'm excited to see what NASL has in store as well as ESL.
|
I expect a great sc2 year, keepin' high the hype all y'all!
|
Steady diet of GSL during the week and Pro League on the weekends.... feels good to be a fan of SC2
|
USA gets fucked over on the GSL broadcast time, but then again has that ever not been the case?
