Prime and Home & Shopping agreed to make a sponsorship contract.
Home & Shopping is a TV home shopping channel which opened broadcast in 2012.
Prime coach Gerard said, "Thanks to Home & Shopping and Kespa, and we will do our best for mutual benefit for us."
As prime earned a new sponsorship first time in 2 years, this will make them play better in Proleague round 2 and LOL Champs Spring.
(+ Maybe a new Prime uniform will be revealed next week too?)

Fucking finally, congrats!

i dont see this as a great sponsor for a sc2 team...i dont think there are nearly as many fangirls as bw so the demographics aren't great for exposure. i dont see this bringing them good ROI.
but i will hope.

This brings Gerard one step closer to auctioning off his players for dates.

Congrats to Prime! Hope they can get a few players because of this to strengthen their roster. Revival? Alive? Oz? Are they not still unsigned?

Honestly, who gives a shit as long as they are giving money to Prime? If the shopping channel thinks it's a good idea to sponsor them it's their own responsibility.

So, can we see MKP on TV selling sneakers? Because I would totally watch that.

When will complexity be sponsored by Home Depot.
easy commercials and slogan making!

I really don't get why a home shopping channel would ever want to sponsor an eSports team, however I'm glad for all the moneyz we can get. I never even liked any player on prime, but this is just a great sponsorship deal to see happen and I truly hope that Prime will last even longer than the last two teams sponsored by TV channels.

but i will hope. But maybe they ship things like ramen and basic life essentials so that gamers and nerds can stay alive at home?

Not necessarily, this needs to succeed. If it fails to provide H&S with the returns they were promised and are expecting, it's just going to scare future sponsors away from the scene. No matter how desperate teams are, they can't be taking on any sponsorship just because it's available.
The good thing for Prime here is that they have a history of trying to sell their uniforms and their own brand of clothing, and this seems to be a good avenue for them. If this does become successful, they will have found a sustainable source of revenue even if it's completely unrelated to eSports.
Edit: Obviously, a lot of assumptions are and will be made here re: what the sponsorship actually entails. I'm guessing H&S is expecting new customers. In my side of marketing/advertising, we call this NUA (New User Acquisition). By adding a new brand from an industry that's seemingly almost unrelated to their current target audience, H&S probably sees this as a cheap endeavor that could open up a lot more wallets and put many more eyes on their website.
The more I think about this, the better I think Prime's chances are, especially with them now being in ProLeague and GSTL gone (meaning there's only one team league in Korea that matters).

e-sports team gets a big sponsor, one of the first posts is negative.
Yep, that's the SC2 scene for you.

Nice to see someone getting behind Prime. Hopefully they can get MKP back in shape and ready to rock

I'm glad to hear about that! Go go Prime!
|
Now they just need to get some good players back on their team.
At least Creator showed some promise with his little tournament win.

Fantastic news! Always nice to see new sponsors in the scene.

great for the prime's future. congratz !
|
|
Will the Prime-site include pics of the Prime team in aprons and such?
|
holy shit this is hilarious, but good on them!
|
This is great, congratz Prime! I hope the Korean scene can stabilize now around the remaining teams, and I must say with all the recent good news it's starting to look realistically Except for Startale maybe, they are not in a good position - I'd love for a permanent merger into Team STIM. Imagine if they (re)acquired Redbull as title sponsor - Redbull.STIM lol

And what an opener it was ^^ I hope they sell their uniforms again. The black version looks neat.
|
Why do they have to wear pyjamas?
|
|
|
Not sure how to feel for the pants part, shirt is nice though. Grats to PRIME, really glad they got a new sponsor.
|
New uniforms? Oh boy... I really like the ones they have now.
|
So basically just a white shirt? Man, remember when eSF teams used to have cool uniforms?
(Note: That was the best Prime uniform I could find. Man, they have a weird fashion sense over there...)
