This is a quick second-hand and shortened translation. As always, it is important to note about the things that lost during the two translation processes.
Q: Words for winning the series for the team.
Flash: Like the last series, my performance was not very good. In the ACE match, I was very nervous, so there were many mistakes. Next time I really need to be relaxed a little bit more.
Q: Your current TvP is not very good. It was not like this in the past.
Flash: On the one hand, Protoss is in an advantageous position; on the other hand, I did not play to my full strength like I did in the practice. In other matchups, you are less likely to get all-in’ed. But in TvP, you need to be completely ready for all-ins. It is a huge headache. And even I don’t have confidence. In the next series, I will prepare well and hope I can meet Protoss again.
Q: Is Protoss in a dominant position?
Flash: To be honest, it is at the moment. But Protoss is not invincible. I believe I will get better and I am practicing hard. In the practice, I can win Protoss often.
Q: Is it predetermined that you play the ACE match?
Flash: Yes. I expect my opponent to be either solar or Roro, or it’s a Protoss. I prepared everything, so I had confidence for the ACE match.
Q: How did you expect the game with Stork?
Flash: I want to play TvP. I want to meet a Protoss in the next match. I want to improve my weakness and accumulate more experience.
Q: How do you feel about Stork’s ceremony?
Flash: I don’t care how people do ceremony after winning me. I even want to applaud for Stork’s victory. But on the other hand, I did take notice of Parting’s ceremony where he used the ruler that I used for preparing my gears. It’s uncomfortable that the material of the ceremony is based on my behavior (smile). Back in the United States, I treated Parting very well. I even paid for several meals for him. He said he won’t do ceremony to me. But now he did this to me, which makes me feel betrayed. Parting was considered by many as not a beloved person but I thought him as a kind-hearted player. But now I am disappointed. It would be better if he just did a ceremony with a 'shutdown move' (smile).
Q: Any words for David Kim?
Flash: He said I can send him email, so I did several times. Several patches until now have reflected my opinions to some extent. So I don’t have more to say. David Kim probably heard too many opinions from too many sides, so he couldn’t make changes so easily. But Protoss is indeed overpowered. I think he will have solutions in the next patch.
Now people who go to SPL studio to watch the game can earn points which can redeem for coffee, chocolate, and even Louis Vuitton handbag, and Samsung pad. In addition, now there is "Proleague Girl" show between the two matches.

Adorable = as short as possible? That's one way to put it I guess but I do like. But the real question is what will the girls do with their bland hair to spark Wolf's interest once more. Will they be getting some of that?

Still pretty nice, those shows. But one has to wonder how desperate PL really is about their audience, if they now hire show girls and give away coffee/bags...? o.O

Boobs are nice, but if I'm to be honest, I'm more of an arse (and legs) man, myself. Unfortunately, many Asian women (at least in my experience) don't really have good bums.

balance discussions just shouldnt be allowed. One thing effects another, in wol it got to bl infester and despite a small change to the infester since beta, its effect was always in the game it just took 2 years for people to get to it
On February 26 2014 20:22 Clicker wrote: I can't tell from the translation, was it that he was embarrassed about making fun of the ruler or was he just offended that he did a ceremony at all?
I think the ruler thing was a little too personal for him, but I don't think he is really upset. I imagine him laughing while answering this question and while I'm sure he wants to pay Parting back, it's all good fun.

As always, some chunk of the community acts like they've never seen a woman before.
On a different note, although my prediction was initially that Flash would retire within a year, I hope that the patch makes him much more motivated.
what he is saying he was surprise the way she looks man, don't take it wrong i have seen to many womans as well and from time to time there is one that open your mouth and you start flying on your mind about it lol
haven't you been surprise by a woman ever ever never? well..... lol
and where can i find a video of this parting ceremony?
To be honest, I felt that Partings ceremony wasnt a big deal, but the fact that they replayed that ceremony over and over in the round 1 of proleauge as a highlight is just insulting. A joke can be funny once, maybe twice, after the 10th time its just annoying and the fact that its a joke that is making (sort of) fun of somebody else, repeating it is becoming an insult.
See, this is why Flash was so good in bw: Be aware of weaknesses and strength's and overcome what seems imbalance with training harder. This is the right attitude.

You say this but in previous interviews he has been pretty whiny. I remember back not too long after the KeSPA switch Flash was already whining about Protoss :/.

Yes, he has, but even then he also talked a lot about his weaknesses and strengths. In BW he never really whined though, he just conquered all, so that's definitely a bad change when he switched to SC2. It must be frustrating to be clearly the best at some point, but then suddenly all the rules change and you're "just a great player". The matchup that changed the most for him is probably TvP, so it makes sense that he feels the least comfortable playing that, hence his complaints.
But thanks for the translation, it's good to read he's still motivated to do better

There has never been anything wrong with whining. If he felt like Protoss was unfair, sure, he can voice his opinions in hopes that Blizzard will see it and get it changed. If it affects how he's practiced, and how he approaches the game, that's a different thing. There's been no evidence that just cause he feels that Protoss is imba, that it changed how he practices and looks at the game.
Q: Your Thor seems to got stuck in between the production buildings. A: I was too nervous, usually this won't happen. Ever since last match I have became really nervous. I must relax more. I think I have not maintain my condition enough.

But in round 2, our levels have dropped down a little. I think these are all very important element, so we must raise our level and find our confidence back.

Nice interview. Interesting how Flash has DK's personal email. :D
I don't know about these cheerleaders. Wouldn't they scare female fans away? Or is that what is attracting more people? I've never seen what the studio looks like during the matches to judge the crowd's reaction to these things... :D The whole thing seems silly.

You do realise he was the best player of an OP race in BW?
Of course the adjustment to SC2 is difficult to take.

any race can be OP when you're literally the best player in the game.
Haha flash vs parting the new best rivalry in sc2. I suppose David Kim taking flash's input on balance isn't a bad thing, untill he thinks Zerg is OP TT

Not really a rivalry IMO. It's more like Flash is PartinG's win pinata and Flash doesn't like that he is a confident personality too. Someone who's better than you and makes a show of it isn't going to be someone to get along with easily.

Flash didn't seem entirely serious when he was talking about the ceremony but maybe that was just the translation/my interpretation. And rivalries can be one sided at times. There have been times when ohio state has beaten michigan many years in a row. But it is still a great rivalry. If flash gets up to that level it will be very exciting because we will probably see ceremonies regardless of who wins

Even though this is a partial interview and I never actually followed BW I must say Flash really has style. He is not afraid to say he thinks protoss is OP but also makes no excuses for his loses due to that fact.
I really like his mentality.
Also that part about Parting was amusing to read. I hope he gets his revenge in PL, maybe he will also prepare an entertaining ceremony in that case
Also, since DK himself mentioned guys like ToD and Naniwa mail him about balance I am glad he also has a terran pro communicating with him. Especially since Flash doesn't strike me as a guy who would want changes to things that are not really OP just to have easier time.
So flash gives constructive feed back on his thoughts of the state of tvp, and the full 6 pages is children talking about pro league girls really? Come on TL don't turn into the terrible B.net forum community.
Surprised no said much about flash saying Protoss is OP comment lol.

I don't even remember Flash doing one ceremony at all (could be wrong though). He just all-killed teams and got a sandwich with some bw afterwards. All in all I think ceremonies are very bad sportsmanship if you mock your oponent who just lost to you. All this draw back on hand shaking and stuff should be penaltylised imho. That being said, I like crazy ceremonies like the one from FBH stripping after his PL final win and went to swim in the sea. And afterwards standing there with just his pants and sunglasses eating a sausage or something like that. That was awesome. Celebrating wins is totally fine. Mocking your oponent for losing is not.
Even if he never did a ceremony he could if he wins against Parting, based on what he said in his interview. All the more reason to cheer for him next time they meet.
Have any of you guys realize that those girls actually LIKE having guys fawning over their beauty?
To think that girls hate being objectified is a laughable matter in itself. They may act shy and humble about it due to their female peers but deep down inside, they can't be any happier.
And oh Flash is looking younger these days. I wonder what kind of lotion have he been using.

Well when you're Flash you don't let something like imbalance get in your way of winning. He's almost being cocky, saying "Yeah toss is OP but I should still beat these people anyways".

I'm trying really hard to think of a "ceremony", I think the only thing that equates to it is when Flash removed all his medicinal bandages before he got his arm surgery against Fantasy in MSL Semi-finals Game 5 (which is a fantastic series btw) and all the Chinese commentators went crazy saying he's removing the seal. He then proceeds to completely dominate the match and win 3-2 and goes on to win the tournament 3-2 vs Jaedong, it was the MSL that basically solidified him as the best player too.
Don't know why people are upset at others admiring the pulchritude of the Proleague dancers.
If you look at the Nada's Body thread, you can see that we also hold the beauty of the male form in the highest esteem as well. The Starcraft community clearly exhibits equality in the finest form.

That clearly depends on her qualities. Obviously an intelligent but not so pretty girl would rather females be judged by their personalities, whereas a beautiful but completely dull girl will sell herself based on looks. People will of course try to blow up their good qualities while downplaying their bad ones.

From the country most notable for cosmetic plastic surgery (oh yeah and starcraft), you guys are going to try and claim that it is sexist to objectify these girls and that they wouldn't like it. Models. Who's job is to be objectified. Literally the jobs they chose...
I would think ignoring their beauty would be more insulting to them, because I am willing to bet that is their own favorite features. I understand that it's really progressive and noble in a hipster/metrosexual/perma-friendzone sort of way to white knight women empowerment and all that jazz, but these are models being paid to do a job they likely worked very hard to get (aka put a lot of time and effort into their looks). They work and are paid to be objectified by nerds. It's that simple.
Also a pre-emptive retort to the "have fun getting a girlfriend with that attitude" posts to follow. I've been married 4 years now to a Korean woman I met and dated in Korea who was a Korean Air Flight Attendant. I've got a bit of insight on this matter.
On topic: I hope Flash gets some better mech buffs vs Toss. The WM buff is nice, but Blink stalkers can still dodge the mine hits. Blink stalker openings are also 10x harder for mech openings than they are for bio. Basically mech needs an answer to early and mid game blink stalkers. IMO late game mech is actually pretty good vs toss (doesn't melt to psi storm) if you can actually make it that far.
Rule one, saying a girl is attractive is totally fine. Debating the relative hotness of said female compared to the to the hotness of other females is generally considered tacky. Just let it be and move on.
