Cable channel FX will begin broadcasting GSL Code S matches in Korea. The broadcasts will not be live, instead being recorded and shown at midnight on Wed-Fri as well as on 1PM on weekends. The first broadcast will be on March 19th. Live internet streams are unaffected.
GSL matches had previous been broadcasted in 2013 by cable channel SPORTS1.
FX Korea is marketed as a "male" oriented channel, showing programs such as WWE RAW, The Walking Dead, Law and Order, and MMA events.
About freaking time Korea started broadcasting GSL on TV. My favorite thing to do in Korea whenever I visited was to just sit in front of the TV and watch old OSL/MSL matches.
If only it were FX on our side of the sea. They're one of the few TV networks that keeps me following a show or two every season.
I wrote something on FX Canada's contact form on their site, expressing my interest in their covering or rebroadcasting WCS - whichever region they choose - and mentioning my appreciation for their korean sister network. Baby steps!
Pretty excited not gonna lie, even if I don't live in Korea... I'm glad to see that the game is gaining recognition and perhaps starting to rise in popularity as opposed to the mass MOBA style esports is starting to feel like
I dunno the woman who married three times is a really deep show and gsl can't compete with it so they get a later time slot on another network. (Kdrama is a big deal) Never the less, It's really cool though that Fox is willing to show GSL.
Its definitely a step in the right direction for sc2. With sc2 being more beautiful than ever before I think its definitely the right time to do something like this. It's 100% a good thing for the scene.

I'd be more content knowing that it wasn't being aired with those programs ._.

Hey. I've got a great idea, we could have the Undertaker and Hulk Hogan cast PL, with Tito Ortiz doing the interviews. What could possibly go wrong? I'm fucking emailing the sponsors with this shit, just you watch, this is going to be fantastic.
Hey this is excellent! Not live, sure, but still, probably a good "feeler" to see whether there's some interest for SCII. Hope this does very well, the game is very fun to watch :D
I love this. Happy SC2 is coming on TV. If nothing else it helps with the, "Hey you should pay attention to SC, look how big it is! It's on TV!" ordeal. Haha.
So today I launched Facebook on my phone and immediately an ad for GSL on FX (The English version of the ad) started playing. But I don't think that GOM posted anything like that on their page. I live in the USA.
