FollowingPartinG's strong showing in Group A of the Ro16,Marucame out on top of the pack in Group B to earn the final spot in the round-of-eight of the GSL Global Tournament.
Round of 16
*RorO forfeited to compete at DreamHack Bucharest
Maru advanced from Group B with a sterling 3-0 record in series and 5-0 in maps (his series against Action was stopped at 1-0 as Maru had already clinched 1st place). Bowling over both KT_Action and AX.Impact with waves of marines and mines, Maru was only given some pause by KT_Flash. KT's iconic Terran player seemed to play himself into good position by defending well against Maru's aggressive openers, but was undone nonetheless in the midgame. Maru took one game with strong marine-tank-viking timing as Flash transitioned into mech, while he used aggressive doom drops in game two to complete his 2-0 victory.
PartinG and Maru will join the top finishers in GSL Code S/WCS America/Europe to compete in the live Ro8. The Ro8 will be played on the 24th, while the semifinals will be played on the 25th. The grand finals will be played on the 26th.
Round of 8
-The finalists of WCS America, Europe, and GSL Code S were invited. HyuN, and MC declined their invites to participate at DreamHack Bucharest. -MC's WCS EU spot passed down to semifinalist San, due to the other semifinalist jjakji choosing to play at DreamHack as well. -WCS AM semifinalists Revival and Alicia had a play-in match for HyuN's spot. Revival won 2-1.
Wow this was a bit of yesterdays news Could had a bit longer write up, the time given Anyways, great work otherwise - news are always news as long as they are new for you an old friend used to say =D
now that this actually played out and i see how the groups worked out, it makes sense. i had no clue what the hell was going on when i first opened the liqui for it. hahahah
This could just be Maru's next championship win, I think. He's looking very good even by his standards and been drawn into quite a favourable group for the next round. PartinG is probably his biggest threat out of the players he might come up against in a semifinal, while I'd argue that MMA is probably the least threatening given how good Maru's TvT is and how dominant he has been in their past matches. Exciting.
PartinG, Zest, Maru, soO to advance to the RO4 imo although I guess San could shake things up if he pulls off some good all ins against soO if they play in the final match of group B

Flash is so much better then Maru when he has time to prepare for his opponent/specific maps and thats when skills really matters ----> Proleague. Just watch most recent PL match between them. Maru got owned badly.
Marus TvT matchup isnt that great as you may think so my money is on MMA here. BTW whats up with the hype for this scrub. Hes only really good matchup is TvP and thats why in current toss favored meta/maps the guy can do really well. Plenty of other terrans that can do better either in TvZ or TvT.

I wouldn't expect a person with zero soul to understand.
