Bad group for San, decent group for puCK. Group B is a bit ridiculous already.

I'm really looking forwared to MMA vs Taeja and Snute vs Stork!
|
my nestea must qualify ;.;
|
This looks so good. Too bad it's in China so viewing times are not good for EST
Edit: I guess it's EDT now, but it is still not good times for tuning in
|
Hmmm..... I read through the MUs thinking, "Clear favorite... clear favorite... clear favoirte.... Taeja vs. MMA.... damn!"
|
Snute vs Stork I can't wait!

Cool
Now if only they gave a schedule for the games

I think it's spelt "ShenZhen", at least, going by their official website.

This means we could see a Zest vs TRUE rematch, that'd be so sick! Really hyped to see TRUE here, I think he's a big favourite to win it all if he can bring his GSL/proleague performance to a weekend event.
|
I think True will do well this tourney.
|
any word on who the the last player is?

I hope this happens. The Wooki needs revenge.

Bistork vs Stork finals, go!

Life, Taeja, Innovation and NESTEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Just needs Mvp and this would be my favourite lineup in a long long time <3
|
Stacked tournament! Getting out of the open bracket alone is brutal.
|
MMA vs Taeja right away? noooo
|

If I had to guess iAsonu and XY aren't going to be competing for obvious reasons. I'm curious about Xigua/Macsed/ect
|
hmm so IEM in China but theres only 1 Chinese player in it?
and the open bracket doesnt even have any Chinese players
|
i think the most interesting participant in the open bracket is the japanese player. PC games are definitely far from popular in japan. they're mostly into arcade and console games.
oh and i hope the last spot is Maru!!
|
Does anybody know what days the open bracket (Stage 1) and group stages (Stage 2) are played on based on past IEM events? I may go watch the even live in person. Are these the days of the open bracket and group stages?
Wednesday: Open bracket (Stage 1) Thursday: Group stages (Stage 2)
Or will the open bracket be played on Wednesday/Thursday and the Group stages on Friday? Maybe somebody that remembers past IEM events can help me. Thanks.
|
Damn this tournament is stacked

Open Bracket will be played on the 15th.
Groupstage will be played on the 16th and 17th.
If you plan to come, tickets can be bought at the door. No special additional ticket needed to go on the IEM tournament zone.

Japan is quietly one of the quicker growing scenes in SC2. They have Barcrafts, they run their own tournaments, a handful of them stream, and just recently, Artosis tweeted about being recognized multiple times in Tokyo. They're still a far cry from the Big Three regions in terms of skill, but they'll be popping up in more events sooner than we think.

Tough road for Has but I believe. #HasHasHasHas

I really like how the OP inserted the teams before every player.

StarTale Life vs. Australian Terran Phoenix (might be a race typo for SYF's PhoenixA)
PhoenixA's attending ACL Sydney, which is on the same dates as IEM, so probably a different one.

Hmm. Then who is this character? No listing for anyone coming even close to his description on Aligulac.

Nesteaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! what time is this? Times (except the start of the event) are located nowhere. :/

I'm really surprised by the lack of Chinese players in this tourney, I'd have thought they'd flock to a tourney on their home soil, no visa issues or anything.
No Top, TooDming, MacSed, Xigua or Courage. I can understand XY and iAsonu not being there given recent events, but man only having Jim makes me sad, it's really rare to see these players play.
Going to watch nonetheless, love me some IEM plus with TRUE there gotta support the Green Wings.

Top, Toodming, and Courage are on the team Zenith of Origin, based in Beijing, which is 2000km from Shenzhen, or a 3 hour flight. In addition, Zenith of Origin's sponsor recently pulled out, and they were struggling to send Toodming to compete in the U.S.
MacSed and Xigua are on iG, based in Shanghai, which is 1400km from Shenzhen and a 2 hour flight. I feel like iG could've provided travel and lodging for them to accompany Jim, but it's too bad.

Looks like the TBD is UminG, a Chinese player (unkown to me)

I'm definitely rooting for that to happen.

I'm pretty sad that Polt couldn't go, or else we would've had a Polt/Zest/San group. Imagine that with TRUE or Life, would've been absolute madness
|
Gogo INno, Stork, or TRUE! Or Snute or Revival too
|
|
Tough group for illusion.
